Volume 7, Chapter 447 – Battle Against Lü Er (Part 2)

Though Lü Er’s speed was fast, it could not surpass divine sense. Thus, every cultivator below the stage with a cultivation level at or above the Unity Realm could “see” his movements clearly.

“Is this guy serious?! That punch is even fiercer than the one he used against Cheng Kang!”

“Good heavens! If that lands, Qi Huang will be instantly reduced to a fragrant, shattered jade.”

“What a brute! Qi Huang might be detestable, but she’s still a delicate, pretty little thing. A light punishment would’ve been enough, why go so far? Wouldn’t it be better to leave her alive for the benefit of all male cultivators?”

“Could it be… he actually prefers men? His lustful reputation was just a front to cover up his true orientation? Otherwise, why would he hit Qi Huang harder than he did Cheng Kang?”

Every cultivator’s heart was in their throats. Only now did they fully realize that Lü Er was not the lust-driven man they had imagined. His will was unshakable, his methods ruthless, far surpassing 99% of men.

Yet the disciples of the Honghua Sect remained completely unfazed. They knew Qi Huang would not lose.

At that moment, Lü Er’s thunderous fist arrived before Qi Huang, poised to cruelly crush the delicate flower before him. But then, something bizarre happened.

BANG!

In the next instant, Lü Er’s fist seemed to collide with an invisible wall. Like clay oxen plunging into the sea, the overwhelming force behind his strike vanished without a trace.

Staggering back two steps, Lü Er wore an expression of utter bewilderment. He had no idea what had just occurred.

“What’s going on?!”

The cultivators below the stage were equally baffled. They immediately focused their divine senses, scanning the area intently.

“Divine sense! It’s divine sense!”

“Heavens above! Am I seeing this right?! Qi Huang blocked a punch from a peak Incarnation Realm cultivator with nothing but her divine sense!”

“How is this possible?! Just how strong is her divine sense?!”

The square erupted into chaos.

“This can’t be!”

At the entrance of the grand hall, Elder Zuo shot up from his seat, eyes bulging as if they might pop out of their sockets.

“Th-This… this can’t be… How… How could she block Lü Er’s punch with just her divine sense?!”

Steward Cai trembled so violently from shock that he couldn’t even stand.

Meanwhile, in the square, Lin Ran’s delicate lips parted in astonishment. Subconsciously, she clenched her fists so tightly that her sharp nails pierced her palms, yet she felt no pain as blood seeped out. Only now did she understand why Cheng Hongling had said those words earlier.

“Divine sense! It’s divine sense! How is this possible?! I’m a peak Incarnation Realm cultivator! Just how strong is your divine sense?!”

On the stage, Lü Er finally grasped the situation. He stared at Qi Huang with a mix of shock and fury.

“Want to know? Keep attacking! Break through, and you’ll find out.”

Qi Huang, still munching on melon seeds, spoke with her mouth half-full.

“I refuse to believe your divine sense has reached the Divine Realm!”

Knowing there was no retreat, Lü Er’s face twisted into a snarl. He took several steps back as True Qi surged around his hands, forming an intricately crafted metal gauntlet. Its knuckles bore diamond-shaped spikes, radiating lethal intent.

“DIE!”

With a roar, Lü Er charged forward again. Each step sank deep into the ground, sending granite fragments flying. His gauntlet scraped violently against the air, igniting into blazing flames so bright they rivaled the sun even in broad daylight. The surrounding air warped from the intense heat.

Qi Huang’s exquisite face, illuminated by the blinding light, was breathtakingly beautiful, yet not a trace of fear could be seen. Her lips still curled in amusement, even as her long hair and skirt fluttered wildly under the force of his punch.

BOOM!

Lü Er’s world-shattering fist collided once more with the divine sense barrier.

KABOOM!

A deafening explosion erupted. The granite stage beneath Lü Er’s feet shattered as if struck by a meteor, countless fragments hurtling skyward. A massive crater formed, spiderweb cracks spreading outward, sending cultivators fleeing in panic. The foundations of a nearby palace trembled, on the verge of collapse.

Once the dust settled, the crowd steadied themselves and turned their gazes back to where the stage had been.

The square’s center no longer held a stage, only a terrifying crater remained. Yet the two combatants still hovered midair, suspended by divine sense.

Lü Er slowly retracted his fist. The gauntlet had cracked apart, its fragments scattering like iron dust in the wind. His wrist was grotesquely twisted, clearly fractured from the recoil.

“Are you tickling me? Don’t stop now, keep going!”

Qi Huang, however, sat leisurely on a small stool floating in midair, swinging her legs playfully. Even without a stage, she hadn’t moved an inch.

SPLURT!

Lü Er’s throat convulsed as he spat out a mouthful of blood.

“Oh dear! You’re bleeding! Are you alright? Can you still fight?”

Qi Huang feigned concern.

Lü Er raised his head, his expression grave as he stared at her.

“Divine Realm divine sense… So your divine sense has reached the Divine Realm! How did you achieve this?!”

“Seems like you can’t fight anymore, huh? Then let me send you back to your main body’s Sea of Consciousness.”

With a mere thought, Qi Huang summoned the Cicada Wing Sword before her. In a flash, it vanished.

SWISH!

The sound of tearing air echoed.

The cultivators below watched as Lü Er numbly looked down at his left chest. A hole had been torn through his robes, blood gushing out in a torrent. Clearly, with his strength, dodging a Divine Realm swordflight technique was impossible.

“Heavens! She actually dared to kill one of the Central Continent’s prodigies?!”

The cultivators below paled, stumbling back in terror, afraid of being implicated.

“Heh heh…”

Yet Lü Er suddenly burst into maniacal laughter, his gaze fixed on Qi Huang with undisguised desire.

A moment later, his burly body plummeted from the sky, crashing into the bottomless crater below.

“WOW! Fairy Qi has won! Fairy Qi has won!”

Beyond the walls, thunderous cheers erupted like crashing waves.

But inside the walls, the cultivators wore expressions of utter devastation, as if mourning their own parents.

“Giggle~ So this is the ‘divine descendant’ you all worship? Pathetic against our little junior sister!”

“Hehe~ Stunned, aren’t you? Who else can you rely on now?”

“Why the excitement? Wasn’t this expected? Just a doppelgänger, even his main body wouldn’t fare much better.”

The Honghua Sect disciples seized the moment to mock them.

Yet Cheng Hongling’s expression remained as calm as still water. As a girl with strong pride, the more outstanding her doppelgänger performed, the greater the sense of loss she felt.

At the grand hall’s entrance, Elder Zuo glared at Qi Huang, his killing intent undisguised. For the first time, he truly felt threatened. Not just personally, but as a danger to the entire Immortal Alliance.

Meanwhile, Lü Er’s soul slowly rose from the crater. Between his brows, the characters “Heavenly Soul” glowed, proof that this was Lü Yi’s Heavenly Soul doppelgänger.

“HAHAHA…”

Far from being bitter over his defeat, Lü Er continued his mad laughter.

“Why is this guy still laughing as a ghost? Did he lose his mind?”

“A so-called ‘divine descendant’ losing to a lowly-blooded woman. Anyone would go mad.”

“What a useless fool. A prodigy? More like a disgrace! He’s shamed all of us cultivators!”

“Easy for you to say! Qi Huang’s divine sense has clearly reached the Divine Realm. That alone makes her one of the top cultivators beneath the Nine Great Monsters. You won’t find many in the entire cultivation world who can match her.”

“How did she even cultivate this? Reaching Divine Realm divine sense in just two or three years?”

“If I knew, I’d be the one standing up there!”

The cultivators below murmured fearfully.

“What’s wrong? Can’t handle losing, oh mighty ‘divine descendant’?” Qi Huang taunted between bites of melon seeds.

“Handle it? No, no, I’m delighted! I told you: if you could defeat me, Cheng Hongling would be worthy of becoming the Lü family’s young madam. And now, it’s proven, she’s the perfect candidate. And you… you’re not escaping either.”

Lü Er’s soul radiated a sinister light. His previous disgust for Qi Huang stemmed from her arrogance, but now he realized she had been far too modest. His prejudice had completely vanished.

“Still dreaming? I told you, you’re not worthy.”

Qi Huang sneered.

“Worthy or not, that’s not for you to decide. Do you know why none of the women my main body desires have ever escaped?”

Lü Er’s tone turned ominous.

“Do enlighten me.”

Qi Huang tilted her head curiously.

“Go ask about the Immortal Stele. I must return to report the good news to my main body. Prepare your dowry. Our wedding day will come soon.”

With a smug grin, Lü Er sent a mental message to his main body. Moments later, a soul tether coiled around him and whisked him away.

Qi Huang recognized it as Lü Yi’s soul tether. With her current divine sense strength, she could have easily blocked it, but she knew now was not the time for open confrontation with the Lü family. After all, they had a Heavenly Tribulation Realm expert backing them.

“Immortal Stele? What Immortal Stele?”

Qi Huang glanced around blankly, murmuring to herself, completely unaware that a calamity of unimaginable scale was about to descend upon Shuiyu Valley.
