Volume 8, Chapter 491 – The Ointment Really Works

“I… what’s wrong with me?”

Qi Huang asked cautiously.

“You—!”

Cheng Hongling grew even more flustered and angry, but in the end, she could only sigh in resignation. She withdrew her jade-like foot in annoyance and said, “Fine, that’s enough for tonight!”

“That’s it? Then… wouldn’t the ointment we’ve already applied go to waste? Didn’t you say this Anemia Paste is quite precious?”

Qi Huang couldn’t help but ask, unwilling to stop.

“Are you really worried about wasting the ointment?”

Cheng Hongling sneered.

Qi Huang opened her mouth but then guiltily averted her eyes. Of course, she wasn’t reluctant because of the ointment, it was the jade foot in her hands she couldn’t bear to part with.

“Forget it. It’s your own fault for being so useless. Get out!”

Cheng Hongling scolded, exasperated by her lack of restraint.

Qi Huang had no choice but to reluctantly leave the room.

After returning to her bedroom, Qi Huang remained in a state of excitement. After so long, she had finally experienced the “urge” of being a man again. That familiar feeling was so nostalgic it was almost overwhelming.

“I, Qi Huang, am still a normal man after all… at least mentally.”

She gloated over this realization, so agitated she couldn’t sleep the entire night, even after taking sleep aids.

Meanwhile, Elder Zuo was still running around in the Central Continent. He had visited several other immortal clans and sects even more powerful than the Lü Family, doing his best to “promote” Cheng Hongling. Yet, he returned empty-handed.

Though disappointed, Elder Zuo wasn’t surprised. He had anticipated this outcome for two reasons:

First, his close relationship with the Lü Family made other factions wary of his motives.

Second, Cheng Hongling’s own strength simply couldn’t compare to the three peerless fairy maidens descended from true immortals. Unless those young prodigies from the great clans were truly left with no other options, they would never “settle for second best”.

Elder Zuo was completely out of ideas and could only deliver the bad news to his in-law, Lü Ze.

With no hope left, the Lü Family began brainstorming ways to delay the wedding on their own.

Though Elder Zuo’s efforts bore no fruit, he had unwittingly spread Cheng Hongling’s name throughout the immortal cultivation world of Zhongzhou, causing quite a stir—though most of the reactions were negative.

That day, Lü Gao and his wife went out to handle some business when they overheard people on the street gossiping about their future daughter-in-law.

“Have you heard? That Immortal Alliance Elder, Zuo Bo, has been recommending wives and concubines to the geniuses of the major immortal factions. The woman is supposedly from the Western Radiance Dynasty’s cultivation world, her name is Cheng Hongling.”

“Cheng Hongling? Why does that name sound so familiar? Isn’t she the one Lü Yi carved onto the Immortal Stele as his yet-to-be-wedded fiancée?”

“Who else could it be?”

“Is Zuo Bo insane? Isn’t he the in-law of the Lü Family’s Second Master? How could he recommend Lü Yi’s betrothed to others?”

“Who knows? Let’s just wait and enjoy the show. If I were Lü Yi’s family, I definitely wouldn’t let this slide.”

Lü Gao and his wife, hearing such discussions, immediately stopped in their tracks.

“I think they’re putting on an act!”

“What act?”

“Zuo Bo is trying to divert the attention of those geniuses, giving Lü Yi a chance to pursue those three little enchantresses.”

“Little enchantresses?”

“If the men are called ‘little fiends’, then the women are naturally ‘little enchantresses’.”

“But Lü Yi already carved Cheng Hongling’s name onto the Immortal Stele!”

“He probably did that to elevate Cheng Hongling’s status and lull his competitors into a false sense of security. After all, the name can be erased anytime.”

“That does make sense.”

The passersby continued speculating among themselves.

Lü Gao and his wife turned pale with fury and hurried back home to report to Lü Dao.

“He’s clearly doing this for the sake of his granddaughter.”

Lü Dao analyzed calmly.

“And I suspect this must have been approved by Second Uncle. Otherwise, an outsider like him wouldn’t dare act so boldly on his own.”

Lü Gao also reasoned.

“This is outrageous! That old bastard knows full well I’ve already carved Cheng Hongling’s name onto the Immortal Stele, yet he dares recommend my betrothed to others? I’ll kill him!”

Lü Yi flew into a rage and stormed out.

“Stop! These are just rumors. What if he denies everything? That old man may only be at the early Divine Ability Realm, but he’s still an elder of the Immortal Alliance!”

Lü Dao barked.

“But what if those geniuses actually take a liking to Cheng Hongling? She did kill my doppelgänger, anyone who investigates will find out!”

Lü Yi argued heatedly.

“Is killing your doppelgänger some grand achievement? You should know that any one of those three fairy maidens from the immortal clans has higher cultivation than your main body. Not to mention, they carry superior bloodlines. Marrying one would ensure prosperity for generations. Only a fool wouldn’t see the obvious choice.”

Lü Dao remained unshaken.

“But what if those geniuses want Cheng Hongling as a concubine?”

Lü Yi pressed.

“Hmph. Don’t think your grandfather doesn’t know, those three girls have long made it clear that anyone pursuing them must be single. Meanwhile, you have a harem of three hundred. That’s why they’ve always kept their distance, isn’t it? Don’t assume everyone is as lust-driven as you. Those geniuses know how to prioritize the bigger picture.”

Lü Dao’s expression darkened with displeasure.

“Your grandfather is right. That Zuo Bo is bound to return empty-handed. There’s no need for us to worry.”

Lü Gao chimed in.

Lü Yi was left speechless. After a moment, he gritted his teeth and said, “Then are we just going to let this go? I can’t swallow this insult!”

“Of course not. If we don’t teach Second Uncle’s family a lesson, they’ll keep stirring up trouble. I won’t tolerate any mishaps in this one-year period.”

Lü Dao’s face finally turned cold. “But you stay out of this. Leave for the Western Radiance Dynasty as soon as possible. In one year, you must marry Cheng Hongling. No one, not even Second Uncle, let alone the gods, will stop you.”

During these days, Qi Huang had been diligently applying the Anemia Paste to her main body. As the sessions increased, she gradually grew accustomed to the intimate atmosphere and could now massage up to the calves. However, going any further was still impossible. Not only would she lose control, but Cheng Hongling would also tremble violently.

In her spare time, Qi Huang hadn’t forgotten the threat of feminization. She checked the state of her Essence Soul daily, but to her surprise, the feminization had mysteriously halted.

“What’s going on?”

Though puzzled, Qi Huang was relieved. This was ultimately good news, so the weight on her chest temporarily lifted.

In the following days, Qi Huang continued applying the ointment every night without worry, hoping to eventually cover her main body’s entire form.

After several more days of effort, Qi Huang finally coated Cheng Hongling’s legs in a glossy sheen with the Anemia Paste. She was both exhilarated and filled with a sense of accomplishment.

Cheng Hongling’s face flushed as she pulled a thin veil over her legs and said, “Alright. Once the Anemia Paste takes effect, I’ll pull you into my Sea of Consciousness to test the results.”

“O-okay!”

Qi Huang stammered, her eyes lingering on the faintly visible silhouette of Cheng Hongling’s legs beneath the gauze. If not for half a month of conditioning, she might have already had a nosebleed.

“Ready?”

About fifteen minutes later, Cheng Hongling prompted.

“Ready. Let’s begin!”

Qi Huang suppressed her wandering thoughts and answered solemnly.

Without hesitation, Cheng Hongling drew the doppelgänger into her Sea of Consciousness and carefully observed the flesh and blood that constituted Qi Huang’s body with her divine sense.

Under Cheng Hongling’s scrutiny, Qi Huang’s body dissolved into a mass of flesh and blood upon entering the Baihui Acupoint, flowing down her meridians as usual before reaching the heart. However, thanks to the Anemia Paste, the heart immediately broke down part of the blood mass, sending nutrients to replenish the feet.

“Wonderful! The ointment really works!”

Overjoyed, Cheng Hongling immediately shared the good news with Qi Huang.

Cheng Ling, still bound to the pillar, watched the two in confusion, completely unaware of what was happening.

“Really? Then how do I control this body now?”

Qi Huang hurriedly asked via mental transmission.

“You’ve only finished applying the paste to my legs, and you already want to control this body? Keep dreaming. Talk to me again after you’ve covered my entire body.”

Cheng Hongling couldn’t help but roll her beautiful eyes.
