Volume 8, Chapter 503 – What I Want Is a She-Tiger

From the very beginning, Qi Huang had not placed all her hopes on Zuo Bo. She had long prepared a second plan. However, with a full year remaining until the so-called “wedding date”, she was in no hurry. She decided to deal with some personal matters first.

The next day, Qi Huang arrived at the Golden Fortune Auction House in the prefecture capital. Naturally, her goal was to collect the Anemia Paste.

“Young Master Li, the Anemia Paste is made from rare ingredients, and the refining process is extremely troublesome. As a result, it’s quite scarce in the markets of the Western Radiance Dynasty. I asked my Third Uncle to mobilize all our branches to search for it, and in the end, we only managed to find five bottles.”

Liu Yingyue presented the five bottles of Anemia Paste. The “Third Uncle” she referred to was the current patriarch of the Liu family.

“Five bottles will suffice for now! I hope Manager Liu can continue to keep an eye out for me in the future.”

Qi Huang accepted them with satisfaction. Given the rate at which she and her main body consumed the paste, five bottles would last at least two to three months.

“Of course.”

Liu Yingyue quickly agreed.

“By the way, how much do I owe you? I’ll pay right away.”

Qi Huang then inquired.

“No need. You’ve helped our Liu family so much over the years. Yingyue has been troubled by how to repay this debt of gratitude.”

Liu Yingyue hastily declined.

“Manager Liu, favors are favors, but money is money. You helping me find this Anemia Paste is already repaying the favor. If you refuse payment, how can I possibly ask for your help again in the future?”

Qi Huang argued firmly. She wasn’t shameless enough to take things for free.

“Young Master is quite meticulous in keeping things separate.”

Liu Yingyue let out a soft laugh, though a trace of disappointment flickered in her beautiful eyes.

After paying, Qi Huang went to visit Huang Di.

“Big Brother, my divine sense has broken through to the Divine Realm!”

Huang Di transmitted his excited thoughts and handed the Tongming Comb to Qi Huang.

“Excellent. With you guarding this branch, as long as those three old Divine Realm geezers don’t come personally to cause trouble, we can rest easy.”

Qi Huang smiled in satisfaction.

“Yes, but those three old men aren’t fools. What if they do come in person?”

Huang Di asked with some concern.

“Then you notify me immediately. At my current speed, it won’t even take me fifteen minutes to get here. When that happens, I’ll make sure they never dare set foot in this Golden Fortune Auction House again.”

Qi Huang instructed.

With everything settled, Qi Huang returned to the Honghua Sect.

Night fell, and the world grew quiet. In the depths of the boudoir, Cheng Hongling lay sprawled on the large bed, her robes half-undone, her flushed face buried in the blankets as she allowed Qi Huang to “massage” her.

Qi Huang, after all, still had a male psyche. Though she had initially been flustered due to her own insecurities, after several sessions of adjustment, she had calmed down considerably. Especially since her body no longer produced male hormones.

Cheng Hongling, however, was different. Though she too was trying to adapt, as the massage progressed to increasingly private areas, coupled with the natural sensitivity of a girl’s skin, each session felt as stimulating as “transcending a heavenly tribulation”. Her delicate frame trembled incessantly.

To distract her main body, Qi Huang struck up a conversation:

“Did you know? That old man Zuo Bo told me they failed to delay the wedding date.”

“What? How did that happen? Didn’t you ask him for details?”

Cheng Hongling’s body stiffened, and indeed, her trembling stopped.

“I did, but the old bastard completely ignored me.”

Qi Huang replied with a bitter smile.

“That’s strange! Doesn’t he care about his granddaughter’s life? By normal logic, with a full year left until the sixth day of the sixth month next year, failing once isn’t a big deal, they could always try again!”

Cheng Hongling analyzed on her own.

“Exactly! But given how eagerly he tried to distance himself from me, it’s probably not that he has no options left, but that he wants to terminate our cooperation altogether.”

Qi Huang also deduced.

“In that case, something must have happened in the Lü family that made him think there’s no need to stop me from marrying Lü Yi anymore.”

Cheng Hongling concluded calmly.

“I think so too.”

Qi Huang agreed.

“With a year’s time… can we deal with that Immortal Stele?”

A glimmer of hope flickered in Cheng Hongling’s eyes.

“Hah, you overestimate me. In a year, we won’t even be able to set foot inside the Lü family’s gates.”

Qi Huang laughed self-deprecatingly. The Lü family had a genuine Heavenly Tribulation Realm old monster overseeing them. Unlike her, he wasn’t “crippled”.

“Then what do we do?”

Cheng Hongling furrowed her willow-leaf brows.

“How about you just marry Lü Yi? After all, he’s a descendant of immortals, his future is limitless.”

Qi Huang, as if possessed, ventured a probing question.

“And what about you? The names carved on that Immortal Stele aren’t just mine alone.”

Cheng Hongling turned her head and stared quietly at Qi Huang.

“Me? You know my past identity. I’d rather die than marry a man.”

Qi Huang declared with unwavering resolve.

“If you don’t marry, you’ll die! And I won’t survive either. So what’s the point of whether I marry or not?”

Cheng Hongling countered.

“It’s fine. If you want to marry, I’ll do my best to find a solution to the assimilation in our dreams. Maybe then we can sever the main-body-and-doppelgänger connection.”

Qi Huang continued testing the waters.

“Then… do you want me to marry?”

Cheng Hongling pressed.

“Uh… of course not.”

Qi Huang gritted her teeth and spoke her mind.

“Why?”

Cheng Hongling’s beautiful eyes gleamed intently.

“You’re my main body! If you marry someone, won’t that make me a stepmother? At least in the eyes of others.”

Qi Huang casually offered a reason.

“Then it’s settled. To spare you from becoming a stepmother, I don’t want to marry either.”

Cheng Hongling lay back down, then murmured softly:

“But the real question is, how do we get through this?”

“Don’t worry. As long as you don’t want to marry, then we won’t! Remember what I told you before? I’ve already prepared a second plan.”

Qi Huang reminded her.

“Let’s hear it!”

Cheng Hongling perked up with interest.

“Join another sect!”

Qi Huang answered calmly.

“What?!”

Cheng Hongling immediately flipped over, completely disregarding her exposed state. Her narrow dudou could hardly contain her ample bosom, which swayed tantalizingly, as if threatening to burst free at any moment.

“I knew you’d react like this. That’s why I didn’t tell you earlier.”

Qi Huang was startled and quickly jumped off the bed.

“Haaaah…”

Cheng Hongling took a deep breath, barely steadying herself.

“Explain. What do you mean by ‘join another sect’?”

“Simple. With my strength, if I make a trip to Central Continent, I’m bound to attract the attention of many persistent suitors, like those other monsters. That way, the Lü family will find it much harder to hold Lü Yi’s grand wedding on schedule.”

Qi Huang laid out her thoughts.

“Isn’t that just ‘using one tiger to drive away a wolf’? Elder Zuo already tried that and failed!”

Cheng Hongling immediately lost interest.

“It’s not the same! That old fool Zuo took the initiative to go door-to-door like a salesman, but only the matchmaker showed up, not the bride. Offering gifts for no reason, it reeked of a scam. Why would anyone believe him? If we go ourselves, it’s different. Once we beat some of those nine freaks into submission, it’ll definitely catch the attention of certain major powers.”

Qi Huang explained.

“And then? Even if it succeeds, so what? ‘Using one tiger to drive away a wolf’, in the end, we’ll just fall into the hands of the strongest tiger. If we can’t handle the Lü family, how can we deal with an even more powerful immortal faction?”

Cheng Hongling raised another objection.

“That’s where my plan differs from Elder Zuo’s. He only wanted to marry us off to someone else, so he was trying to use a male tiger. But what I want… is a she-tiger.”

Qi Huang declared smugly.

“What? A she-tiger?”

Cheng Hongling was stunned.

“How much do you know about the immortal factions in the cultivation world?”

Qi Huang countered with a question.

“Currently, there are nine major immortal factions in the cultivation world, the sects or clans of those nine monster freaks. Six are located in the Central Continent, while the other three are scattered across the Eastern, Southern, and Northern Continents of the cultivation continent. Only our Western Continent has none.”

Cheng Hongling answered after a brief thought. This was something she had crammed at the last minute.

“Correct. And in the Southern Continent, there’s a purely female immortal sect called the ‘Huarong Sect’. They are the she-tigers I’m talking about! And a she-tiger… can’t devour us!”

Qi Huang smirked mischievously.
