Volume 8, Chapter 563 – One Against Seven (Part 3)
“Why the sudden urgency? Weren’t you the one who just said blades and swords have no eyes? And that elders should be tolerant and understanding? Everyone heard you. Are you going to slap your own face now?”
A playful smile spread across Qi Huang’s face.
“That’s right! And that Cao Yang also said if cultivators are afraid of getting hurt, they should just go home and have babies!” Shi Yuqi chimed in to support her.
The onlookers exchanged glances. They had indeed heard it, but seeing Cao Yang’s previously vengeful and vindictive demeanor, no one dared to speak up in agreement.
“Zheng Wei, you need to think carefully,” Qi Huang said, employing her provocation tactic again. “If an outsider intervenes now, it means you’ve lost. I’m afraid your Nine Monster title will have to be handed over to me.”
Zheng Wei gritted his teeth, then said to Elder Liu, who was tending to his injuries, “You, step down!”
“But—” Elder Liu’s face showed unwillingness.
“Get lost!” Zheng Wei snapped in furious shame.
Elder Liu had no choice but to leave resentfully, though he couldn’t resist throwing out a final threat: “If you dare harm the Number One Immortal Seed of our Zhizun Peak again, we will annihilate your Huarong Sect!”
“Hmph!” Qi Huang curled her lip in disdain. “You really scare me. Annihilate Huarong Sect? Have you asked Hua Yu about that? It’s her maiden family, after all.”
A trace of mockery appeared on the faces of the crowd. They thought to themselves, ‘Everyone in the cultivation world knows your relationship with the Cao family is nominally in-laws but actually sworn enemies. And you still try to use that to threaten them?’
“That’s right,” Hua Yu unexpectedly concurred. Her reason was simple: to secure her position in the Cao family, she could only strive to regain her status as Holy Maiden. If the Huarong Sect were destroyed, her plan of ‘eating from the east and sleeping in the west’ would be completely ruined. “Anyone who wishes harm upon the Huarong Sect will pay a heavy price. Don’t believe me? Just try.”

“My wife’s meaning is my meaning,” Cao Yang, having regained his composure, also declared his stance. Then, turning to Zheng Wei, he said, “Brother Zheng, didn’t we agree we were guiding juniors? Blades and swords have no eyes, how can we avoid a few nicks and scrapes? You said it yourself: elders should be tolerant and understanding. Why be so petty and calculating now, right?”
Zheng Wei was utterly dumbfounded. He couldn’t understand why this guy was being so two-faced. Was he scared by that woman’s performance just now?
“How strange! Why are Cao Yang and Hua Yu suddenly helping the Huarong Sect? Aren’t they supposed to be at loggerheads?”
“You might be foolish, but Hua Yu isn’t. You don’t actually think she provoked that Jiang Ling just to vent anger, do you? She definitely still wants to be the Holy Maiden again, so she can continue playing both sides.”
“Right. If she wants to secure her footing in the Cao family and continue pursuing the Immortal Path, this is her only choice.”
Some clear-headed onlookers whispered the reason amongst themselves.
Hearing this, Zheng Wei felt a chill run down his spine and hurriedly explained, “Brother Cao is absolutely right! What’s a little injury like this? I still have many ultimate techniques to guide her with. That was just a demonstration of the wrong way to dodge, that’s all.”
“Is that so? But I didn’t see it clearly. How about you demonstrate it for me again?” Qi Huang smiled sweetly and charmingly, but the Divine Sense of the eighth layer of the Divine Realm erupted from her without warning, bearing down to suppress the two men.
BOOM!
The ground beneath Cao Yang and Zheng Wei’s feet sank down over ten feet instantly, as if struck by a meteor.
“Pfft—” Zheng Wei’s legs gave way, and he knelt, vomiting a large mouthful of blood. His deathly pale face was filled with terror. Only now did he realize why her speed earlier had been so terrifying.

Cao Yang wasn’t faring much better. His legs trembled like those afflicted with chronic rheumatism, and a layer of fine sweat gradually beaded on his forehead. After reaching the Divine Realm, each layer of difference was like a chasm ordained by heaven, let alone a difference of two layers! Currently, he was so suppressed he couldn’t even project his Divine Sense out of his body.
“Husband!” Hua Yu was greatly alarmed. Now, she couldn’t care less about saving face. She ran her hand over the “Bi’an Blood Blade”, and a large amount of her essence blood seeped into it!
“Crimson Hell!” Hua Yu then let out a sharp cry. The Bi’an Blood Blade glowed an increasingly piercing red, violently unleashing a thick, dense resentment energy that almost instantly covered the entire battlefield.
Because resentment energy could restrict Divine Sense, under the influence of the “Crimson Hell”, the pressure from Qi Huang’s Divine Sense weakened by eighty to ninety percent.
“You… your Divine Sense… has actually reached such a level…” Cao Yang struggled to speak. “But don’t forget… in this world of cultivation, there is one thing that can completely ignore Divine Sense.” As he spoke, with a thought, a set of black robes materialized onto his body.
Simultaneously, Qi Huang discovered that her target had vanished from the range of her Divine Sense, though she could still see him with her naked eyes.
“Clothes made from the fur of a Nine Nether Demon Cat!” Qi Huang narrowed her beautiful eyes slightly.
“Correct! With this, your Divine Sense cannot lock onto me, nor can it suppress me. I’d like to see what other capabilities you have left!” Cao Yang took a deep breath and said.
Beside him, Zheng Wei followed suit, putting on a yellow robe also made from Nine Nether Demon Cat fur, and stood up.
Hua Yu did the same, though hers was a pink waist-length ruqun skirt.
“These beasts! Who knows how many of my kin they killed to get this!” Inside the storage ring, Mimi gritted her teeth so hard they nearly shattered. Her mental age was indeed young, but that didn’t mean she understood nothing. She had been persecuted by cultivators since childhood, and her parents had died at their hands.

“Don’t forget, I still have these eyes,” Qi Huang said, pointing to her own eyes. “Even without using Divine Sense suppression, you still stand no chance.”
“Indeed, if your cultivation had truly reached the late stages of the Divine Realm, you could see through our movement techniques with just your naked eyes. But what if it hasn’t?” Cao Yang let out a cold laugh and vanished from his spot. Zheng Wei followed closely behind.
Hua Yu also retracted her domain and began executing movement techniques to move at high speed.
Qi Huang widened her clear, bright black-and-white eyes, trying to discern their movement trajectories. The evidence proved Cao Yang right. With a cultivation base merely at the Spirit Gathering Realm, how could she possibly clearly see the movements of several Divine Realm cultivators?
‘Since he found my weakness, I should have gone for the kill from the start!’ Qi Huang frowned slightly. At the same time, her eighth-layer Divine Realm Divine Sense emerged from her body, forming a spherical protective barrier around her.
Clang! Clang! Clang!…
Before long, a series of heavy impact sounds came from the protective barrier. It was clear the three had already launched their attacks.
“Haha! Under the combined assault of the three of us, relying solely on Divine Sense, let’s see how long you can last!” Zheng Wei’s triumphant voice rang out.
“She can only turtle up inside, completely incapable of counterattacking. It seems she really is only strong in Divine Sense!” Cao Yang also made his judgment.
‘Do I really have to expose some of my old aces?’ Qi Huang fell into deep thought. If she utilized Heavenly Tribulation Realm Divine Sense, the spatial fluctuations caused alone could clear the battlefield in an instant. Or, using the Ghost Hair for indiscriminate attacks could achieve the same effect. The problem was, she truly disliked going all out without holding back, because doing so would mean she’d have no trump cards left for the future.
“Need help?”

Just then, Cheng Hongling’s telepathic message sounded. She had clearly seen through the doppelgänger’s predicament.
“No need. I’m just feigning weakness on purpose. Otherwise, how would the other Nine Monsters join the fray? Just dealing with these three isn’t enough.” Qi Huang found an excuse to politely refuse. The main body had its pride, and she, too, had the self-respect of a “man”.
“Sister, need help? I can alter your soul fluctuations, making the Nine Nether Demon Cat’s stealth effect useless against you.”
Mimi’s voice came through immediately after.
“That would be wonderful! I really don’t want to expose my aces just to deal with a few little kids.” Qi Huang was overjoyed.
“Put me on first!” Mimi instructed, simultaneously transforming into a green, wide-sleeved Feathered Dress.
With a thought from Qi Huang, the dress was already on her, making her figure even more captivating.
In the next moment, Qi Huang felt a strange vibration transmitted from the dress, spreading through her body like an electric current, causing even her soul to tremble.
Gradually, Qi Huang felt her soul fluctuations begin to change.
“Sister, hold on. The entire transformation process will probably take about quarter of an hour,” Mimi reminded her.
“A quarter of an hour? Don’t worry. With those three fledglings outside, I could give them a whole day and they still wouldn’t break through.” Qi Huang ‘modestly’ replied. With her current Divine Sense strength, if it weren’t for her body being too weak, she could maintain this state for years, let alone a day.
