Volume 10, Chapter 675 – Wiping Them All Out

Zheng Chi fell heavily to the ground, his body trembling violently from fear, his legs so weak that he could barely stand.

The other three grand elders were in a similar state, though it was unclear how many of them were genuinely terrified and how many were merely putting on an act.

Zheng Chi gritted his teeth, swiftly pulling out a flying talisman and slapping it onto his body. Without hesitation, he turned and fled. He knew that his only chance was to first escape the range of the Killing Intent, release his Essence Soul, and recover his strength.

Seeing Zheng Chi fleeing, the other three grand elders had no will to fight either. They immediately followed suit, using their own flying talismans to escape.

As for the other Immortal Alliance disciples, their Divine Sense collapsed instantly under the overwhelming pressure of the Killing Intent. Their bodies froze in terror, unable to move, forced to stand still as the rain mixed with Qi-Leaking Powder poured over them. Only a scarce twenty to thirty cultivators who had released their Essence Souls were barely managing to resist.

At that moment, the burly man surnamed Jiang finally descended from the sky, landing heavily on the ground with his sturdy legs.

BOOM…!

The earth instantly shook as if struck by a meteor. Countless chunks of mud and stone exploded upward, and the cultivators nearby were blown away by the terrifying shockwave. Even several carriages carrying bait were caught in the blast, rocking violently and nearly overturning.

Cheng Hongling frowned slightly and used her Divine Sense to immediately restrain the carriage beneath her.

High above, nearly a thousand feet in the air, the National Preceptor Yang reacted quickly as well, splitting his Divine Sense into several strands to stabilize the other carriages.

“This reckless brute injured my daughter. I’ll make him pay!” Tang Yuning’s father roared in anger.

“Let’s go down. The Immortal Alliance has already collapsed,” National Preceptor Yang said calmly, putting away his now-empty water cauldron. Leading several emperors, he descended near the Immortal Alliance’s encampment. With a single thought, hundreds of figures flew out from several storage rings in his hand.

“Kill them all!” he commanded.

With a shout, Yang charged toward the Immortal Alliance’s camp, leading the attack.

“Charge!”

The hundreds of cultivators roared in unison, surging forward like a tidal wave and storming the camp.

As for the Immortal Alliance disciples? With their Qi suppressed by the Qi-Leaking Powder and their Divine Sense overwhelmed by the Killing Intent, most had already lost their fighting capability. With several grand elders fleeing, morale crumbled completely. There was no way they could mount an effective defense, and the outcome was sealed before the battle even began.

Indeed, the families of the abducted cultivators charged into the camp like tigers among sheep. They effortlessly cut down those few who still resisted, but refrained from killing those who had already lost the will to fight.

“Well now, are they actually planning to overthrow their superiors?” Qi Huang blinked in surprise but quickly smiled in relief. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Those abducted girls had suffered enough; if they could return home, so be it. As for herself, she could always put in a little extra effort to make up for the lost bait, it wasn’t a big deal.

Qi Huang’s reasoning was simple. She wasn’t like Zheng Chi, who had no bottom line.

By this time, Zheng Chi and the grand elders had escaped the range of the Killing Intent. He exhaled deeply, immediately releasing his Essence Soul doppelgänger, and barked impatiently, “Get as far away as you can!”

Startled, the Essence Soul doppelgänger quickly fled into the distance.

The other two grand elders copied him, proving they hadn’t been faking their earlier panic.

However, the last grand elder, a short man, remained still, trying to bluff his way through.

“Elder Kang, aren’t you going to release your Essence Soul doppelgänger?” Zheng Chi asked suspiciously.

“My Essence Soul doppelgänger… isn’t in my Sea of Consciousness,” Elder Kang stammered.

“What? Then why did you fall from the sky just now, stumbling like the rest of us?” Zheng Chi’s expression darkened.

“Because I’m afraid of heights,” Elder Kang replied matter-of-factly.

“Afraid of heights? Then how come you flew faster than me when using the flying talisman earlier?” Zheng Chi’s jaw twitched, his facial features twisting in disbelief.

“No choice. I have… intermittent acrophobia. Sometimes I’m afraid, sometimes I’m not. Like epilepsy.” Elder Kang explained solemnly.

“…Heh.”

Zheng Chi’s lips curled into an incredulous sneer. Did you take him for a three-year-old? But he knew this wasn’t the time to press the matter. He forced down his anger and growled, “Let’s go. We’re heading back!”

“But our True Qi is being drained by the Qi-Leaking Powder. If we can’t finish this quickly, we’ll soon be at a disadvantage,” said a thin elder worriedly.

“Don’t worry, Elder Gao. You’ll understand when we get back,” Zheng Chi said casually, brushing off the concern as he led the three elders back toward the battlefield.

Seeing this, Qi Huang couldn’t help but chuckle. It was obvious Zheng Chi still had a hidden trump card, who would have the last laugh remained to be seen.

Inside the camp, the families had already crushed all resistance and successfully reunited with their daughters.

The rescued girls were crying uncontrollably, sobbing with relief at their narrow escape.

Tang Yuning’s face glowed with triumph as she walked up to Cheng Hongling and sneered, “Well? Do you still plan on going to the Kapok Valley Treasure Land now?”

“Of course,” Cheng Hongling replied curtly, her words as sparse as ever.

“Sorry, but I won our bet involving your doppelgänger. I won’t be going to Kapok Valley with you. Unless, of course, you’re as reckless as the Immortal Alliance and try to force me, but I doubt you have the courage or the strength.”

Cheng Hongling remained silent, unbothered by the provocation. She wasn’t one to waste words in pointless arguments.

Qi Huang, however, sighed inwardly. She has both the strength and the courage, just not the pettiness to stoop so low.

“What are you so smug about? Not going to Kapok Valley is your loss. Do you know how many people dream of finding treasures there?” Ruan Lingyu snapped.

“That’s right! When we come out, we’ll have bags full of rare treasures to show off in front of you,” Shen Yuan chimed in.

“Hah! I’m a princess! Do you really think I lack heavenly treasures?” Tang Yuning retorted haughtily.

“Even putting treasures aside, just touring the place would be amazing! Not everyone gets this chance. You could brag about it for life. Are you sure you won’t reconsider?” Yun Fei tried to persuade her.

“No thanks. This princess has no interest in sightseeing at death’s doorstep,” Tang Yuning rejected flatly. Then she smirked and added, “Better yet, why don’t you all hand over your treasures to me before you go? You won’t be needing them after you die.”

“Why?” Shen Yuan asked in confusion.

“Because most of you won’t be coming back. Wouldn’t it be a waste otherwise?” Tang Yuning replied sharply.

The sisters were instantly furious, and Su Qingying countered venom with venom: “Don’t worry, if we don’t make it back, we’ll find a way to burn them to you.”

“You dare curse me to die?!” Tang Yuning exploded.

“Upset? Weren’t you the one who cursed us first?” Su Qingying mocked.

Tang Yuning choked on her words, then flipped her hair and turned away with feigned indifference. “Hmph! This princess is magnanimous. I won’t lower myself to your level. I’m going back to enjoy my luxuries.”

Qi Huang chuckled silently. ‘Celebrate while you can. Elder Zheng hasn’t even played his final card yet, the one who laughs last hasn’t been decided.’

At that moment, Cheng Hongling quietly sent a mental transmission to Qi Huang: “What do you plan to do now? Let them all leave?”

“Of course! We’re not as shameless as the Immortal Alliance,” Qi Huang responded without hesitation, then added thoughtfully, “But I doubt leaving will be that easy. Elder Zheng and the others are back for round two.”

Cheng Hongling shook her head helplessly. How long is this going to drag on?

“Everyone, let’s leave quickly,” Jin Xue’s father urged loudly. “Once the Immortal Alliance elders return, it’ll be trouble again.”

“No need to worry,” the burly man surnamed Jiang said confidently. “Those clowns have been weakened by the Qi-Leaking Powder, and their Divine Sense is restrained by the Nine Nether Demon Cat pelts. I could crush them with one finger.”

“Is that so?” a voice interjected coldly.

Everyone turned toward the sound to see Zheng Chi and the grand elders returning, and the tension in the air immediately spiked.

“You dare come back to die?” the burly Jiang fighter cracked his knuckles eagerly.

“Die? Yes… but it’s you who’ll die,” Zheng Chi said with a cold smile, crushing a strange talisman in his hand.

The talisman burst apart, releasing an enormous Divine Sense barrier that instantly enveloped the entire camp. The power was so immense it distorted space itself, visible to the naked eye.

Qi Huang’s lips curved slightly. Her sharp gaze could instantly tell this barrier was at least equivalent to the early Heavenly Tribulation Realm. Those inside wouldn’t be able to break free.

“Now, I can wipe you all out in one go,” Zheng Chi declared proudly.

“A mere Divine Sense barrier?” Jiang scoffed. “It’s not even thicker than my skin! I’ll punch right through it!”

With a thunderous stomp, he launched himself like a cannonball toward the inner wall of the barrier. His massive fist generated a visible shockwave, hurtling forward with unstoppable force.
