Volume 10, Chapter 688 – Golden Fate Blossoms (Part 3)
Qi Huang lightly descended into that sunlit zone. Her Divine Sense stretched out like several hands, reaching in all directions, pulling back all the spiritual herbs she fancied. As for the Golden Skeleton buried beneath the ground… So long as it didn’t go mad, she was willing to spare it for now.
After picking the more precious spiritual herbs, Qi Huang released the girls stored inside her spatial ring, including that old man Kang Sheng.
The girls, seeing the ground full of herbs, instantly became wild with joy. They threw away all the worthless things they had picked earlier and began collecting anew, just like monkeys piling up corn.
Qi Huang could only watch speechlessly, secretly thinking, ‘When we come across something even better later, are you going to toss these away again?’
Kang Sheng, however, did not dare to move. First, he was nothing more than a hostage. Second, this was a sunlit zone, and such places usually harbored extremely powerful Wraiths.
“Teacher, when you arrived here, didn’t you notice any wraiths?” Kang Sheng asked doubtfully. He probed the surroundings with his Divine Sense but found no trace of evil spirits, which defied common logic.
“Of course I did,” Qi Huang replied casually.
“Then where are they? Did you destroy them?” Kang Sheng guessed.
“Why would I destroy them for no reason? They’ve already died once, it’s pitiful enough, isn’t it?” Qi Huang’s face showed sympathy. Because she knew about the “Great Purge”, she understood that wraiths, so long as they caused no harm, should be left alone. Otherwise, once Heavenly Slaves descended, the consequences would be unimaginable.
“Pitiful?” Elder Kang’s mouth twitched. He pressed on: “Then where are they? Why don’t I see anything?”
“Under your feet. How could you see anything if you only searched around you?” Qi Huang teased.
“What?” Elder Kang’s expression changed drastically. On reflex, he directed his Divine Sense downward. There, three zhang beneath the surface, lay a colossal humanoid skeleton, dozens of zhang tall, its entire body dark-gold, as though cast from pure gold. Though sleeping, it constantly drew in the surrounding yin energy, which in turn created this sunlit zone.
“Heavens! Such a massive Golden Skeleton!” Elder Kang cried out.
“What’s wrong?” The girls turned their heads in confusion.

“Beneath… beneath our feet… there’s a gigantic golden skel… skeleton,” Elder Kang stammered.
The decoys quickly extended their Divine Sense into the ground, and then they too saw the terrifying Golden Skeleton.
“Help! A Golden Skeleton! Heavens, it’s really a Golden Skeleton!”
A chorus of screams erupted. Its sheer size was too terrifying; its strength came second.
“Isn’t it just a little skeleton? What’s there to be so scared of?” Qi Huang said helplessly, trying to calm them.
“Little? You dare call me little?”
The Golden Skeleton underground suddenly awoke. Hatred boiled in its hollow eyes. Its limbs began thrashing, trying to crawl up and settle accounts with Qi Huang.
RUMBLE…!
The earth shook violently. Cracks spread across the ground. The girls scattered like headless flies in panic.
All except Cheng Hongling and the Honghua Sect disciples. The former remained expressionless, while the latter fiddled excitedly with their Shadow-Retaining Mirrors, eager to capture this thrilling moment.
“Did I tell you to get up? Lie back down!”
Qi Huang’s brows drew together. Her Divine Sense surged underground like a fishing net, enveloping the furious skeleton and binding it tightly.
Though the Golden Skeleton’s eyes seethed with hatred, no amount of struggle could break free. It was forced to lie still beneath the earth once more. The trembling ground subsided.
The girls let out breaths of relief; some collapsed to the ground, legs too weak to stand.

But the Honghua Sect disciples looked displeased. Shen Yuan muttered, “Junior Sister, let that big skeleton come out for me to take a shot with the mirror. Our Divine Sense can’t leave our bodies, so we can’t see it clearly.”
“Stop fooling around!” Cheng Hongling scolded.
“It’s fine. If you want to take pictures, once you’ve finished harvesting the herbs, I’ll bring it out for you,” Qi Huang said agreeably.
“Really? Great!”
The senior sisters rejoiced and quickly joined in picking herbs again, but only those of higher quality.
Half an hour later, the sunlit zone had been completely stripped of herbs.
“All right, step back to the corners. I’ll haul out that skeleton.” Qi Huang instructed.
Everyone’s hearts jolted, and they hurried to the edges.
With a thought, Qi Huang’s Divine Sense dragged the skeleton up. Each bone unearthed caused the soil to churn like great waves. Flowers, trees, and grasses were destroyed instantly, its sheer size left no doubt.
Soon, she had lifted the skeleton into the air. Its massive frame loomed like a small mountain, blotting out the sun below.
“Wow! It’s enormous!”
Gasps filled the air.
“Junior Sister… is this the ‘little skeleton’ you spoke of?” Ruan Lingyu stammered. Her hands shook so badly she nearly dropped her mirror.

The Honghua Sect disciples were also dumbstruck. None expected this so-called “little skeleton” to be so gigantic.
“Yes, this is the little skeleton,” Qi Huang confirmed. Compared to Zhen Feiyan, whom she had once fought, this was child’s play.
Hearing that, the Golden Skeleton’s eyes flared with hatred, but despite its furious struggling, it couldn’t move a single finger.
“Didn’t you want to record a keepsake?” Qi Huang reminded.
The sisters snapped out of their daze, brimming with excitement as they began filming.
“Junior Sister, could you make it move? Standing still like this, it looks like a prop.” Shen Yuan complained again.
“That’s easy enough.”
Qi Huang withdrew part of her Divine Sense. At once, the skeleton writhed violently, flailing its limbs.
“Let me go! Put me back!” it roared, its giant body looking both pitiful and comical.
“It’s moving! It’s moving! For real this time!”
The sisters cheered and eagerly recorded with their mirrors.
‘She’s using such a powerful skeleton as nothing more than a photo prop?’
Jin Xue, Tang Yuning, and Ouyang Yi exchanged shocked looks. Witnessing such a staggering display of power, they finally grasped how terrifying Qi Huang truly was.
“Please… sob sob… let me go… call me little if you want!”

The Golden Skeleton, unable to escape and humiliated by being treated as a spectacle, broke down and wept.
“Oh no, it’s crying. Poor thing… let’s release it, shall we?” Miao Xiang pleaded softly.
“Then get lost.”
Qi Huang tossed the skeleton aside like trash.
BOOM!
The Golden Skeleton crashed heavily into the ground. Dust billowed, and the earth trembled again. But it dared not seek revenge. Scrambling up, it fled shamefully into the Yin energy.
The girls burst into laughter at its pitiful retreat.
“Why didn’t you kill it?” Cheng Hongling’s voice sounded in Qi Huang’s mind.
“Remember the ‘Great Purge’? Wraiths, as long as they don’t harm the outside world, should be left alone. When I’m ready to face Heavenly Dao and its servants, I’ll wipe them all out together.” Qi Huang explained.
Cheng Hongling thought briefly, then nodded in agreement.
Just then, Qi Huang’s Divine Sense picked up a lightning-fast figure entering her range, flying rapidly toward them.
She focused. It was a massive eagle, taller than a person, with wings spanning over a zhang. Its talons and beak were exaggeratedly sharp. Its body gleamed silver-white, like liquid mercury. Its sleek feathers resembled inverted swords, reflecting light, slicing across the sky like a bolt of lightning.
“It’s a Lightning Hawk!” Qi Huang exclaimed in delight.
