Volume 11, Chapter 730 – Battle Against the Sect Leader (Part 2)

Qi Huang vanished from her spot the very first instant. Because the Sect Leader of the Severed Immortal Sect had doused himself with Heaven-Deceiving Water, her Divine Sense could neither detect nor suppress him, and her eyes couldn’t keep up with his speed. She could only retreat for the moment, this was the greatest shortcoming of being a crippled cultivator.

“Running away? Isn’t your Divine Sense already at the eighth layer of the Heavenly Tribulation Realm? In the cultivation world, no one surpasses you! Why not strike back? Is it that you don’t want to? Or that you can’t? Hahaha…”

The Sect Leader of the Severed Immortal Sect mocked her as he gave chase, his Yang energy erupting outward like a blazing sun.

‘How does he know that my Divine Sense has reached the eighth layer of the Heavenly Tribulation Realm?’

Qi Huang was startled once more upon hearing this. Other than her family, she had never revealed this to anyone.

“Hahaha! Where has that lofty, condescending attitude gone? Don’t you want to avenge your main body?”

The Sect Leader of the Severed Immortal Sect taunted without pause. The Yang energy pouring from his body spread further and further, raising the temperature for dozens of miles. Yin Qi was completely driven out, and malevolent spirits shrieked in agony as they vanished. This was the terror of Yang energy.

“If you can’t defeat him, just leave! Don’t keep fighting!”

Cheng Hongling’s mental transmission rang out. Though she was healing inside the spatial ring, she could still hear the battle outside.

“No! I must avenge you!”

Qi Huang refused without hesitation. She had never been one to meekly accept fate.

Meanwhile, in Cheng Hongling’s Sea of Consciousness, the few remaining souls were anxiously gathered in front of the Window of the Heart, discussing.

The bound Cheng Ling naturally understood what was happening. The corners of her rosy lips curved slightly upward before she sent a mental transmission to Cheng Hongling: “Tell Qi Huang, if she wants to overcome the Heaven-Deceiving Water, she must let me return to her Sea of Consciousness and immediately assimilate her soul essence.”

Cheng Hongling heard but remained unmoved. She continued calmly channeling her blood energy to resist the strange shard lodged in her heart.

“What’s wrong? Unwilling? Hehe…”

Cheng Ling sneered, then taunted: “Or are you afraid that once she truly becomes a woman, she’ll lose interest in you? The illustrious peerless fairy of the Honghua Sect falling for someone of lowly birth, neither male nor female… that’s nothing but disgraceful!”

Cheng Hongling’s expression flickered slightly, but she didn’t respond.

“No matter. With her current level of assimilation, I can speak to her directly without needing you as an intermediary.”

Cheng Ling said indifferently.

Cheng Hongling still remained silent, unsure whether her Spiritual Wisdom Soul was lying or not.

What Cheng Ling said was indeed true. She had already contacted Qi Huang via mental transmission before. Now it was even easier, though not with absolute certainty.

“Qi Huang, can you hear me?”

Cheng Ling tried several times before succeeding.

“What is it?”

Qi Huang, still fleeing, instinctively replied, thinking it was Cheng Hongling.

“I am Cheng Ling. Listen well, the Heaven-Deceiving Water is not without flaw. If you let me return to your Sea of Consciousness and assimilate your soul essence, then Heaven-Deceiving Water will never again block your perception.”

Cheng Ling coaxed.

“You certainly know how to seize an opportunity. Save your tricks, I won’t be fooled.”

Qi Huang rejected her flatly.

“Oh? You don’t believe me?”

Cheng Ling remained calm, patiently explaining: “You’ve seen Lu Yao’s memories. You should know that Heaven-Deceiving Water only works on existences beneath Celestials. My power of assimilation comes from a foreign Heavenly Dao. If you completely accept this power, how could such a petty thing like Heaven-Deceiving Water restrain you?”

Qi Huang frowned slightly. She had to admit there was some truth to it. But since the battle had not yet reached the point of life and death, she ignored the woman, descended to the bottom of the mine pit, and raised a barrier of Divine Sense.

“Not running anymore? Have you given up?”

The Sect Leader of the Severed Immortal Sect rushed over, smashing his fist mercilessly against the barrier.

BOOM…!

The two forces collided. A terrifying shockwave, tinged with faint spatial ripples, spread outward. The cliffs of the pit were swept like coastlines lashed by stormy waves, their surface stone crumbling into dust. The onlookers at the cave entrance were killed instantly. Those who survived fled screaming, they finally realized they weren’t even qualified to spectate such a battle.

“You’re quite ruthless, striking without care for your own disciples.”

Qi Huang sneered.

“To be a sacrifice for the Sacred Sect, that is their honor.”

The Sect Leader struck the barrier with another punch, then asked: “I’m curious, why don’t you flee?”

“You lured me here. Surely you prepared to prevent my escape long ago?”

Qi Huang smiled faintly.

“You are clever.”

The Sect Leader feigned praise, but his massive fists kept hammering down.

“No need for pretense. Whoever dares harm my main body, unless he dies, I will not leave.”

Qi Huang’s smile remained, but her eyes gleamed sharp as blades.

“Is that so? Then let this Sect Leader see just how you’ll kill me!”

The Sect Leader’s voice was calm, but his provocation was clear.

“Didn’t you want me to go all out? Then let me show you.”

As soon as Qi Huang finished speaking, her Divine Sense, condensed to its utmost in her Sea of Consciousness, suddenly erupted outward. It was as if a boulder had been hurled into a tranquil lake, an immense shockwave spread, accompanied by visible spatial ripples sweeping in every direction.

The Sect Leader’s face changed drastically. His muscles swelled another layer as his thick arms shielded his face.

BOOM…!

The next instant, the entire mine pit was overturned by the devastating shockwave, transformed into a storm that swept everything within dozens of miles. The labyrinth of tunnels beneath collapsed entirely. The headquarters of the Severed Immortal Sect was obliterated.

The Sect Leader, too, was struck by the shockwave. His powerful body flailed like a leaf in autumn wind, his bronzed skin ripped away inch by inch by the spatial ripples, revealing mangled flesh. He melted like a snowman under the blazing sun, the effects of the Heaven-Deceiving Water gradually dissipating.

“Hmph! Heaven-Deceiving Water only coats the skin. Once I strip it away, let’s see what else you can deceive!”

Qi Huang sneered coldly. Locking her Divine Sense onto the Sect Leader, she sped toward him. Behind her, the Boundless Demonic Hair surged, countless strands shooting forth like arrows, spanning miles as they pierced toward him.

The Sect Leader lay sprawled on the ground, his skin entirely gone, resembling a skinned bullfrog. But his strength was immense, his vitality tenacious. He clung to life.

“To think you could wound me to this degree… Truly worthy of Divine Sense at the eighth layer of the Heavenly Tribulation Realm.”

Admiration flickered in his scarlet eyes. Suddenly, a fierce battle intent surged from him as he roared: “Immortal War Domain!”

As his words fell, terrifying Yang energy erupted from within his body, instantly saturating dozens of miles. Temperatures soared, ice melted, and plants began to grow wildly.

Qi Huang’s countless strands of hair reached him, but collapsed as though boneless, dropping limply before rapidly withering into rot.

‘What’s going on?’

Qi Huang was shocked and hurriedly retracted the Boundless Demonic Hair. This was the first time she had encountered such a situation.

“Your Boundless Demonic Hair grows by feeding on ghost tomatoes. Ghost tomatoes are sinister Yin creatures. My Yang energy is their natural nemesis. In front of me, they are like mice before a cat.”

The Sect Leader slowly stood.

“You even know that?”

Qi Huang’s breathing grew heavy. She felt as though her “clothes” were being peeled away piece by piece, leaving her exposed and vulnerable.

“Surprised? Don’t rush, the real surprises are still ahead. I know far more than you imagine.”

The Sect Leader sneered as new skin began rapidly regrowing across his body.

“What is this?”

A look of dread crossed Qi Huang’s face.

“Yin Qi corrodes all things, but Yang energy gives birth to all things. That last attack of yours must have consumed nearly all your Divine Sense, yes? So even if you stripped away the Heaven-Deceiving Water from me, what of it? My skin can regenerate. But can your Divine Sense recover?”

His eyes gleamed with malice.
