Volume 11, Chapter 776 – Exterminating the Immortal Alliance (Part 2)

“Dare to threaten me? Hehe, this Elder will insist on being the first to sit today. Let me tell you the truth, I have already carved my name on the Immortal Stele of Jingtian Sect. If you have the guts, try and lay a finger on me!”

Elder Xiao boasted proudly as he walked toward a nearby table, twisting his hips as he prepared to sit down.

“Send Elder Xiao on his way.”

Qi Huang’s smile turned cold, the Cicada Wing Sword flashing once before disappearing.

Everyone looked around in confusion, only to realize that Elder Xiao’s body had suddenly exploded, turning into a mist of blood that dispersed into the breeze.

His body was instantly obliterated, without the chance to release a doppelgänger to transfer his injuries. He perished immediately, leaving behind only his Life Soul from among the three ethereal souls, which floated out of his ruined flesh.

Swish!

Qi Huang’s Divine Sense left her body, forcibly pressing Elder Xiao’s Life Soul down onto the stool.

Elder Xiao’s Life Soul glanced about in a daze, his eyes filled with horror.

‘She really dared to kill Elder Xiao?’

The eyes of everyone from the Immortal Alliance, as well as the spectators, brimmed with disbelief.

“Elder Xiao!”

The members of Jingtian Sect howled in anguish, but none dared to approach.

“I already said, only the dead may sit early.”

Qi Huang repeated coldly, then lifted her head to gaze at the sky.

“What are you looking at?”

Cheng Hongling asked in puzzlement.

“The Immortal Might. Where is it? Didn’t he just boast about having his name carved on Jingtian Sect’s Immortal Stele?”

Qi Huang asked with suspicion.

“Who knows?”

Cheng Hongling furrowed her brows and shook her head.

Qi Huang swept her gaze across the surroundings, finding everyone equally puzzled, staring up at the heavens.

“How strange! Where is the Immortal Might? How could the immortals of Jingtian Sect watch their descendant die without intervening?”

“Could it be that Jingtian Sect’s Immortal Stele is nothing more than an empty shell?”

“Or perhaps that Xiao brat is an unworthy descendant, so his ancestors refuse to protect him.”

“Maybe he’s a bastard child, not carrying the Xiao family bloodline at all.”

The spectators muttered among themselves.

Elder Xiao’s Life Soul was fuming with rage, almost smoking out of his seven apertures. He wanted nothing more than to lash out, but he was firmly restrained by Qi Huang’s Divine Sense and unable to move.

Lu Lin’s face twisted in anger and confusion. He turned toward the Xiao family crowd and roared: “Where is the Immortal Might? Where is your Jingtian Sect’s Immortal Might?”

“Jingtian Sect indeed has an Immortal Stele, but Elder Xiao’s name was never engraved upon it, so naturally he receives no protection.”

Xiao Xi, the sect master of Jingtian Sect, explained with an awkward expression.

“Not engraved? Then why did he spread such lies all this time?”

Lu Lin was astonished.

“Well, you’ll have to ask him yourself.”

Xiao Xi’s face flushed with embarrassment.

Lu Lin paused for a moment, then gritted his teeth, scolding: “Elder Xiao, you thought yourself clever. With such lies, no one dared provoke you, and even I valued you highly. A twofold gain indeed!”

Elder Xiao’s little scheme was laid bare, and his Life Soul burned red with shame.

“Haha, so it was nothing but empty bluster.”

Qi Huang sneered with disdain, then turned toward the Immortal Alliance crowd: “Well? Does anyone else wish to sit now?”

The high ranks and disciples of the Immortal Alliance were struck as though by thunder, their legs involuntarily retreating further back. What a joke! Even Zheng Pan and Elder Xiao, both at Divine Realm, had been annihilated. If they rushed forward, it would be no more than offering their lives away.

“And what about you elders from the great immortal families? Are you not coming up? Don’t tell me you’re frauds as well?”

Lu Lin turned angrily toward several other elders from immortal clans.

The elders glanced at one another. Unlike Elder Xiao, they were not imposters, yet the woman before them was terrifyingly strong. None dared to test her further.

“Seems you all know what’s best. Then let me be plain… This funeral banquet is being held for the Immortal Alliance. I’ll give you a word of advice: leave the Immortal Alliance before I strike again. There’s still a chance to live. Otherwise, Elder Xiao is your example.”

Qi Huang issued her warning, then turned to her relatives and friends behind her: “Everyone, take your seats. As the saying goes, death is of utmost weight. Since Elder Xiao has already taken his seat, there’s no need for you to hold back any longer.”

“Wow! Junior Sister is so domineering! Alone, she has cowed the Immortal Alliance into not daring to cross her.”

Fairy Lingyu’s eyes sparkled with admiration, no more than a fangirl.

“Hmph. The only reason they’re still standing is because Junior Sister is merciful.”

Yun Fei added seriously.

Encouraged by these praises, everyone sat down with calmer hearts.

Meanwhile, Elder Xiao’s Life Soul was left alone at a single table, serving as the so-called “dead guest”.

“My heavens, tens of thousands from the Immortal Alliance are here, including their top experts, and yet those few hundred rebels were actually allowed to sit down!”

“Unbelievable, will Cheng Hongling and Qi Huang truly overturn the heavens today?”

“Even if they succeed or not, just fighting all the way to the Immortal Alliance’s gates is enough to secure their names in history.”

The tens of millions of onlookers buzzed with excitement, knowing they were witnessing history unfold.

“Serve the dishes!”

Qi Huang immediately used the Thousand-Mile Communication Tube to command the people of Wenxiang Pavilion.

Most of Wenxiang Pavilion’s cooks had stayed inside preparing food, ignorant of the chaos outside. Hearing Qi Huang’s order, they carried out trays of exotic delicacies without fear.

The Immortal Alliance disciples could only watch helplessly. Even if their leader ordered them, they dared not obstruct.

Qi Huang then used the Thousand-Mile Communication Tube again, summoning Master Chen from the funeral supplies shop to perform the rites.

“Fairy, please spare me! I wouldn’t dare oppose the Immortal Alliance even if I had the courage of a bear and the heart of a leopard! How about I refund your deposit, and we each go our own way?”

Master Chen had witnessed everything, so he begged for mercy.

“Enough nonsense. If you’re afraid, then stand aside. Once I’ve settled matters with the Immortal Alliance, you can make your choice. Surely that’s fair enough?”

Qi Huang compromised. She had her principles and did not wish to force others.

“Alright, I’ll be right there.”

Master Chen breathed a sigh of relief. At least now he had room to maneuver. Breaking faith on the spot could mean sudden death, but taking a small gamble on Qi Huang’s side seemed safer.

Qi Huang smiled with satisfaction, then walked over to the women of Baihua Brothel.

The dozen courtesans turned pale with fright, trembling in fear.

“The same goes for you. If you’re too afraid to dance now, then wait until I’ve dealt with the Immortal Alliance.”

Qi Huang reassured them.

“Whew…”

The women exhaled long breaths of relief.

Qi Huang returned to her seat and turned toward her seven or eight hundred relatives and friends: “Everyone, you’ve traveled far, and it’s been hard on you. Enjoy Wuye City’s local delicacies first. Nothing is more important than a full stomach.”

The crowd trusted Qi Huang completely. Calmly, they picked up chopsticks to eat, some even raising cups to drink heartily, ignoring the hostile stares of the Immortal Alliance disciples and the millions of spectators.

“They even dare drink wine? What arrogance! If I were part of the Immortal Alliance, I’d be furious.”

“Indeed, holding a funeral feast right at the Immortal Alliance’s gates. Regardless of the outcome, the Alliance’s reputation is ruined. This move by Cheng Hongling and Qi Huang may not kill the body, but it slaughters the spirit.”

“And she’s only in her twenties! Strength aside, how can she be so cunning? The so-called heirs of immortals are nothing but infants before her.”

The countless onlookers were stunned.

“Alliance Leader, you are the most advanced in cultivation among us. Will you truly stand by while these rebels run rampant, provoking the Immortal Alliance with impunity?”

Elder You could not bear it and stepped forward to question furiously.

“…”

Lu Lin’s face twisted in rage at his subordinate’s insolence. Yet he dared not make a move, for Qi Huang’s earlier speed had left him deeply wary.

And so, Qi Huang sat with her seven or eight hundred kin and friends, feasting and drinking outside the Immortal Alliance headquarters, while its members and the multitudes of spectators could do nothing but watch, swallowing their saliva in frustration. The atmosphere was bizarre.

“Enough!”

After food and drink, as night descended, Qi Huang who was forced back into her female persona rose gracefully to her feet: “Everyone must be full by now. It is time to get to business.”
