Volume 12, Chapter 789 – The Immortal Stele, I’ll Tear It Apart Before You Today (Part 2)
Qi Huang followed the voice and looked over, finding that all the important figures of the Lü Clan were present. Every one of them was fully armed, bracing as though facing a mortal enemy.
“Lü Dao, I recall that I had your descendants bring you a message. If you would open your gates and allow me to remove that Immortal Stele drenched in blood debt, I might consider leaving your clan a few incense lines of legacy. But judging by your posture now, you’re planning to resist to the end, aren’t you?”
Qi Huang asked calmly as she walked forward.
“What a joke! My Lü Clan stands among the Nine Great Immortal Forces of the cultivation world, reigning supreme over the Weiyuan Empire’s immortal realm. Since when could a brat like you threaten us? If you want us to surrender, maybe in your next life!”
Lü Dao’s voice rang loud and full, bolstered by the three Immortal Steles fused within his body, he naturally feared nothing.
“Qi Huang, I advise you to surrender early. Bow three times before me in front of everyone here and beg forgiveness, and perhaps this young master will let bygones be bygones. I might even allow you to enter my house as a handmaiden or servant girl. But if you insist on being stubborn, forget about being a handmaiden, there won’t even be a chance for you to remain human.”
Lü Yi, brimming with unearned confidence despite being a cripple, sneered with his threat.
“How strange, why are the people of the Lü Clan so confident? Could it be that their Immortal Stele has fully recovered?”
“Who knows? The state of an Immortal Stele is a closely guarded secret of an Immortal Family.”
“I don’t think so. Don’t forget, Cheng Hongling’s name is still engraved on the Lü Clan’s Immortal Stele. If it had fully recovered, it would’ve already struck her down.”
“Even if it hasn’t fully recovered, so what? The Lü Clan’s Immortal Stele is one tribulation stronger than Huarong Sect’s. A single tribulation might sound minor, but in truth, the difference is like heaven and earth.”
The distant spectators all murmured in heated discussion.
“I knew this would happen.”
Qi Huang smiled slyly, then swept her gaze across the surroundings and shouted loudly, “You all have seen it, this Alliance Leader did not refuse to give the Lü Clan a chance. It’s they who chose not to cherish it. Don’t blame me, then, when my methods turn ruthless.”

“If you want to kill us, then do it. Enough of your nonsense.”
Beside her, Cheng Hongling shook her head helplessly, thinking to herself that this was all part of Qi Huang’s premeditated scheme, yet she acted as if she were forced into it.
“Still, I must say something,” Qi Huang continued carefully, worried her beloved would be upset. “Don’t forget, we’re now the leaders of the Dao Alliance. Every action we take must have rightful justification.”
Then she turned again to the Lü Clan crowd and said, “This Alliance Leader, handsome and kind, will give you three breaths of time. Those who wish to live, step aside. Otherwise, today shall be the day your lives end.”
“How strange… The Lü Clan’s arrogance can at least be understood, they rely on their Immortal Stele. But where does Qi Huang’s confidence come from?”
“Yes, her method of dealing with Immortal Steles was already exposed by Zhizun Peak. Could it be she doesn’t know?”
“Perhaps she really doesn’t. Zhizun Peak’s announcement was only just released, and she’s been hiding away in the Western Radiance Dynasty… a backwater so remote that even birds wouldn’t bother to fly there. The news probably hasn’t reached her yet.”
Some among the crowd doubted Qi Huang’s apparent overconfidence.
Seeing Qi Huang so composed, the people from Zhizun Peak and Jingtian Sect began to feel uneasy.
Zhizun Peak’s master, Zheng Qian, took out his Thousand-Mile Communication Tube to contact an elder. “Elder Yuan, you’re certain there are no spatial rifts between Zhizun Peak and the imperial capital of the Weiyuan Empire?”
“Rest assured, Peak Master,” Elder Yuan replied confidently. “We’ve been patrolling along the route continuously and have found no signs of any spatial rift.”
Still not entirely at ease, Zheng Qian sent a mental transmission to Xiao Xi, the sect master of Jingtian Sect not far away. “Sect Master Xiao, are you sure there were no spatial rifts along your sect’s route here?”
“Don’t worry, Peak Master Zheng. I’ve had people watching carefully. This isn’t something we would treat lightly. Besides, that Qi Huang has no idea we’ve already engraved Lü Dao’s name upon our own Immortal Stele. Why would she bother creating any spatial rifts without reason?”
Xiao Xi’s tone was certain.

Only then did Zheng Qian feel fully assured. He sent a mental message to Lü Dao: “Brother Lü, do not worry. We’ve confirmed there are no spatial rifts between Zhizun Peak, Jingtian Sect, and your clan. You may display the might of an Immortal Family freely. Curse that witch fiercely and vent everyone’s anger!”
Hearing this, Lü Dao’s heart settled. He immediately bellowed, “You vile little wench, stop pretending! Don’t think I don’t know your tricks! Isn’t your method against Immortal Steles simply to open a spatial rift midway? Open your dog eyes and look, where in the sky is there a spatial rift? If you’ve got the ability, tear one open right now and show me!”
“Very well,” Qi Huang said coolly. “Then this Alliance Leader shall grant your wish.”
As her words fell, dozens of people at the Lü Clan gates were instantly crushed into pulp under her overwhelming Divine Sense. No matter their cultivation, none escaped. Only Lü Dao’s Life Soul remained, standing frozen on the spot.
At that moment, the three Immortal Steles finally reacted. The Lü Clan’s Immortal Stele was the first to move. It trembled violently like an enraged giant, bursting forth a terrifying Immortal Might that crushed the surrounding space and surged toward Qi Huang.
At the same time, the Immortal Steles of Zhizun Peak and Jingtian Sect also activated. Yet because of the distance, their power had to travel far across space. Though the process took only an instant, in Qi Huang’s eyes it moved slower than a crawling snail.
As always, Qi Huang released three strands of her hair. One strand traced lightly through the air before her; like a blade slicing the heavens, it effortlessly tore open a massive spatial rift over a hundred zhang long, gaping like a greedy maw awaiting a feast.
The other two strands shot outward over great distances, intercepting the Immortal Might from Zhizun Peak and Jingtian Sect midway. Each tearing open a rift of their own, waiting like hunters at the snare.
Though she seemed to both slaughter and rend space in one motion, because Qi Huang’s speed was inconceivably fast, it all happened in the blink of an eye.
To the millions of onlookers, they saw only that the Lü Clan’s people exploded into fragments, and a massive black gash suddenly split open in the heavens ahead utterly without warning.
Moments later, the Lü Clan’s Immortal Stele released its full might to suppress Qi Huang, only for its power to be completely devoured by that gaping spatial rift without even a ripple left behind.
Because the spectators’ cultivation was too weak, everything appeared to have happened at once before their eyes.
“Do you see it, Clan Chief Lü? Tell me, is this spatial rift big enough for you? Wide enough?”

Qi Huang’s voice carried mocking amusement as she addressed Lü Dao’s Life Soul.
“This is impossible! Impossible! How did you do this?!”
Lü Dao’s hysterical shout echoed as his spirit quaked.
“Apologies,” Qi Huang replied coolly, “this immortal has no patience to explain.”
With a flicker of Divine Sense, Lü Dao’s Life Soul was instantly crushed into nothingness.
“My heavens! She tore open a spatial rift with a wave of her hand! How could such a being still be human?!”
The spectators’ very souls trembled in terror. They wanted to flee, but their limbs shook so violently that they could not move.
Those from Zhizun Peak and Jingtian Sect were the most pitiful. Guilt gnawed at them, and under the shock, they fell helplessly from the sky.
Nor were outsiders alone in their awe. Even Qi Huang’s own kin and friends widened their eyes, wondering if they were hallucinating.
“The eyesore has finally been cleaned up.”
Qi Huang murmured casually, then strolled leisurely through the Lü Clan gates, saying, “Everyone who wants to see me tear down an Immortal Stele, hurry up! Latecomers won’t be entertained.”
The crowd, still stunned, stood motionless like wooden statues.
But Qi Huang’s companions had already snapped out of it, laughing and following behind her with cheerful chatter.
“What in the world just happened?”

Zheng Qian and Xiao Xi were struck with both shock and fury. Never could they have imagined that uniting the power of three Immortal Steles would fail completely. What a humiliation, especially for Zhizun Peak, whose stele had now suffered defeat twice in a row.
Just then, their disciples contacted them through the Thousand-Mile Communication Tube, reporting that enormous spatial rifts had appeared along the route from their sects to the Lü Clan, devouring all released Immortal Might.
“Is that thing even human?”
Zheng Qian and Xiao Xi’s bodies trembled violently, this time, from fear.
Compared to those two sects, the members of the Cao Clan were caught in turmoil. They had planned to assist, but never could they have foreseen such absurd events unfolding.
“Husband, do you still dare to talk about marrying her now?”
Hua Yu asked teasingly.
Cao Yang clenched his fists tightly, his body trembling under dread. Facing such an overwhelmingly powerful woman, even the thought of conquest was gone from his heart.
Qi Huang led her kin and companions through the Lü Clan estate. Everywhere they looked, people fled in panic. None dared to stand in their way after witnessing her display.
She chatted and joked with her sisters as if they were out sightseeing, unhurriedly making their way toward the Immortal Stele’s location.
By now, the millions of spectators had finally recovered from their shock and began to fly into the Lü residence one after another, eager to witness this historic moment with their own eyes.
“Qi Huang seeks to challenge an Immortal Stele with a mortal body. Whether she succeeds or fails today, her name will forever be etched into history.”
That was the thought held in every onlooker’s heart. After all, throughout the annals of cultivation, never had there been one so daring.
