Volume 12, Chapter 793 – Are You Threatening Me?

“You mean we can receive the help of Ancestor Cao Yin?”

Cao Yang asked in disbelief, while the other family members revealed expressions of delight. Cao Yin was the master of the Cao Clan’s Immortal Stele.

“Indeed. You’ve probably heard of the saying that relatives share a connection through their bloodline, haven’t you? That so-called ‘bloodline connection’ is actually a kind of Soul Resonance. To protect his descendants, Ancestor Cao Yin once left behind a single drop of ‘Immortal Blood’. As long as I use my own essence blood to offer a sacrifice to this drop of ‘Immortal Blood’, he will be able to sense my exact location and come to find me soon after.”

As Cao Meng explained, he brought out a small jade vial.

“Father-in-law, is this really Ancestor Cao Yin’s Immortal Blood? After thousands of years, are you sure it hasn’t dried up or anything?”

Madam Duan asked curiously.

“Immortal blood contains immense power. How could it possibly dry up so easily?”

A trace of pride appeared on Cao Meng’s face.

“Wonderful! With this, Ancestor Cao Yin can appear in time and be our greatest backing!”

Cao Yang’s face was overflowing with excitement.

“But the problem is, this requires Grandfather’s essence blood!”

Cao Hui frowned.

“No matter. As long as my grandson can take that Cheng Hongling as his wife, the Cao Clan will rise to dominance. What does it matter if I sacrifice a bit of my essence blood for that?”

Cao Meng said with a righteous air.

“Father, can’t I do it? I also carry Ancestor Cao Yin’s blood in my veins.”

Cao Hui asked cautiously.

“No. Your cultivation is too weak, your essence blood not pure enough. The blood offering wouldn’t achieve the desired effect.”

Cao Meng shook his head.

“Then we’ll have to trouble Father.”

Cao Hui showed a respectful expression.

“Grandfather, when will I be able to engrave their names on the Immortal Stele?”

Cao Yang impatiently asked from the side.

“Don’t rush. Since you’re unwilling to take risks, we’ll have to proceed step by step. Let me perform the blood ritual first. If I can contact Ancestor Cao Yin, we’ll talk more after that.”

Cao Meng frowned slightly as he spoke.

“Yes, yes, yes…”

Cao Yang grinned foolishly.

“Father, is there anything we can help you with?”

Cao Hui asked.

“Try to gather as many blood-nourishing and qi-replenishing pills as possible for me. I don’t know how much essence blood it will take to contact Ancestor Cao Yin.”

Cao Meng instructed.

“Yes!”

The entire family responded respectfully.

At this time, Qi Huang was no longer on the Cultivation Continent but was flying rapidly through the vast universe. Her clear, watery eyes glanced around, looking for a suitable new home for her ghostly friends.

Yes, Qi Huang intended to relocate some of her evil spirit friends, those that couldn’t be destroyed, to other stars. Thus, she had to choose the right place first.

“Husband, what do you think of that star?”

Qi Huang gracefully stopped in midair and sent a thought to Cheng Hongling inside her storage ring. It was night on Lishui Planet, forcing her to temporarily revert to her female persona.

“Wife, I think the star you choose shouldn’t differ too much in size from Lishui Planet. In fact, it should be larger rather than smaller.”

Cheng Hongling flew out of the storage ring, observing for a moment before answering.

“Why is that, husband?”

Qi Huang asked softly.

“It’s simple. If the star is too small, its gravity won’t be strong enough to restrain the evil spirits. They’ll drift all over the universe, and after many years, they might even wander back to Lishui Planet. Wouldn’t that defeat the purpose? It’s better to take care of it once and for all.”

Cheng Hongling explained logically.

“You’re absolutely right, husband!”

Qi Huang nodded in realization and resumed searching. Her current strength had already reached the Human Immortal Realm. Flying at her maximum speed, she could travel from one planet to another within one or two hours.

After flying for four or five hours more, Qi Huang finally spotted a planet roughly the same size as Lishui Planet. Knowing her strength had limits, she decided not to go farther; a round trip would be too troublesome. Thus, she chose this planet.

“The surface temperature of this planet is similar to our Lishui Planet, but it lacks an atmosphere. Fortunately, evil spirits don’t need to breathe. With our help, they can easily create their preferred environment. Let’s choose this one.”

Cheng Hongling was quite satisfied with this star.

“I’ll follow your lead, husband. Only, this star doesn’t have a name yet. What should we call it?”

Qi Huang asked gently.

“Since you’re choosing it as a settlement for evil spirits, let’s name it Yin Star.”

Cheng Hongling thought for a moment and replied.

“All right.”

Qi Huang, docile as a traditional wife, voiced no objections.

After that, the couple returned to the Cultivation Continent of Lishui Planet.

Qi Huang reverted to her male persona, knowing she now had to persuade her ghostly friends. After all, the idea of “moving house” was entirely his own. Who knew what they might think?

Qi Huang brought Cheng Hongling along to Pingshan Mass Burial Ground, summoning Jiang Feng, Zhen Feiyan, and Yaoyao.

“The Cultivation World has now largely fallen under the control of the Dao Alliance. All of you are either my family or my friends. It weighs on me to see you cooped up in this desolate mass burial ground.”

After some pleasantries, Qi Huang got straight to the point.

“It’s good you know that. Let us take a stroll outside. Staying in this tiny plot of land all day feels like being imprisoned.”

Zhen Feiyan’s servant, Wang Jun, spoke impatiently.

“That won’t do. What if you get into conflict with the living? I’m the Alliance Leader of the Dao Alliance now. Whose side would I take then?”

Qi Huang immediately seized the chance to elaborate.

“Don’t worry, we promise not to disturb the living.”

Zhen Feiyan assured.

“I believe you. You’re powerful enough to control your behavior. But what about your underlings, those low-level evil spirits? They don’t have much intelligence.”

Qi Huang reminded.

“Then what do you want us to do? You can’t possibly let them starve to death, can you? The animals around Pingshan Mass Burial Ground have almost all been eaten.”

Wang Jun sighed helplessly.

“Indeed, our situation isn’t much better either. Granddaughter, since we’ve been so cooperative, shouldn’t you think of a solution for us too?”

Jiang Feng complained bitterly.

“I do have an idea. I just don’t know if you’ll agree. I’m thinking of relocating all of you to another planet…”

Qi Huang then revealed his plan.

“……”

The evil spirits were stunned. They weren’t shocked by Qi Huang’s plan itself, but rather that she could actually traverse the vast cosmos.

“Granddaughter! Did I hear that right? You’re saying you can not only leave Lishui Planet but also reach other planets?”

Jiang Feng asked in disbelief after regaining his senses.

“Yes. You can’t even imagine how dazzling and vast the starry sky is. If you’re willing to move, I can take you there right now.”

Qi Huang tempted.

“All right. For us evil spirits, does it really matter where we live?”

Jiang Feng steadied himself and responded graciously.

But Zhen Feiyan frowned slightly and, after a pause, spoke slowly: “To be honest, I don’t like being despised here on Lishui Planet either. But it depends where we’re moving to. How’s the environment of this star you mentioned? Is there enough food? How does it compare to this place?”

“To be honest with you, aside from having a similar temperature to Lishui Planet, there’s not much in common. The environment, well…  as far as the eye can see, it’s all vast desert. As for food, unless you count sand, there’s nothing. Not even air.”

Qi Huang admitted frankly.

“Heh. So you’re pushing us into a dead end, aren’t you?”

Zhen Feiyan sneered coldly.

“You really are a filial granddaughter, aren’t you?”

The smile on Jiang Feng’s face stiffened as well.

“Thank you for the compliment!”

Qi Huang grinned cheekily.

“You’re evil spirits. You don’t need to breathe air. Once you’re there, you can modify the environment however you like. We’ll do our best to assist.”

Cheng Hongling explained patiently.

“For example?”

Zhen Feiyan asked.

“We have ways to make plants grow rapidly, so transforming that place won’t be hard. You could raise chickens, ducks, cattle, and sheep to feed on blood, solving the food issue.”

Cheng Hongling offered an example.

“Most importantly, once you’re there, you’ll gain freedom. You can go wherever you please.”

Qi Huang added.

“And if we refuse? Will you kill us?”

Zhen Feiyan tested her tone.

“Do you take me for someone so heartless? We’re friends, after all. But let me make one thing clear: if any of your subordinates harm mortals, I won’t show mercy. Don’t blame me then.”

Qi Huang stated bluntly.

“You’re threatening me?”

The smile vanished completely from Zhen Feiyan’s face.

“Yes. This Alliance Leader intends to eradicate all evil spirits from the Cultivation Continent. So, will you stay, or will you leave?”

Cheng Hongling narrowed her beautiful eyes slightly.
