Volume 13, Chapter 822 – I Am Your Ancestor (Part 6)
“Yes, yes, as long as we open a spatial rift and allow an immortal from Lingxi Sect to descend, why should we fear that fiendish specter?”
“Where are those people from the Immortal Clans? Still not taking action? Do you think running will solve the problem? You can run from the monk, but not the temple!”
“Exactly! All the elders of the Immortal Alliance have kicked the bucket, and there’s no one left to stop you. If you still don’t act now, the entire cultivation world is doomed!”
The rational cultivators from the Jinshan Empire were urgently voicing their suggestions.
However, those sects still clung to the hope that the Immortal Alliance would save them, so they scrambled to flee, one after another.
Only the cultivators from Yanyang Sect didn’t run. They were too close to the danger and didn’t dare to escape at all.
“Run? Where could you possibly run to? Every cultivator on Kaiyuan Planet above the Divine Realm must die. The smart ones will stay where they are and obediently await this general’s judgment. That way, you might at least become a zombie or some wandering wraith. But if you run, I’ll make sure not even your bones remain, your soul will be completely annihilated.”
The Zombie General’s voice rang out loudly in warning, but those foreign Divine Realm cultivators were already scared witless. None dared to stop.
“Courting death!”
The Zombie General flew into a rage. His sharp, claw-like nails popped out like daggers, gleaming with a sinister black luster. In the blink of an eye, he vanished soundlessly from where he stood. The fleeing Divine Realm cultivators were then dismembered one after another, their bodies reduced to shredded flesh that rained from the sky. Not one could resist.
The reason was simple: the Zombie General’s speed was simply too fast. Even Divine Realm and even Heavenly Tribulation Realm cultivators couldn’t use their Divine Sense to track his shadow. This was the gap between immortals and mortals.
Seeing such a horrific scene, the cultivators became even more terrified, screaming and sobbing as they fled. Some were so frightened they collapsed on the spot.
“Still not going to make a move? Don’t you love playing the Saint?”
Cheng Hongling looked at Qi Huang, her beautiful eyes glimmering with a hint of teasing.
“I am a Saint, not a charity. Those fleeing Divine Realm cultivators are basically all from the Immortal Clans. Earlier, they stood by and watched as Lingxi Sect suffered, colluding with the Immortal Alliance. Why should I save them?”
Qi Huang countered.
Cheng Hongling smiled in satisfaction. It was clear this sort of man who knew the difference between friend and foe suited her tastes much more.
“Everyone, don’t be afraid. That fiend only kills cultivators above the Divine Realm.”
Zhong Qin, the head of Lingxi Sect, had no way to escape, so she turned back and tried to calm the elders and disciples.

“But what about you, Sect Leader?”
Elder Fang asked worriedly.
“Me? I’ve already made contact with our ancestor. If I die, then I die. In the future, as long as you find a way to convince an Immortal Clan to help open the spatial barrier, our Lingxi Sect can still be saved.”
Zhong Qin’s voice was weak and gasping. She had lost too much blood, and even pills couldn’t immediately restore her.
“Those short-sighted idiots! If they had helped us open the spatial barrier earlier and allowed Ancestor Zhong Zhen to descend, we wouldn’t be in such a wretched state right now.”
Elder Fang couldn’t help but curse.
“The Immortal Alliance blocked us at every turn. Many members of the Immortal Clans hold positions in the Alliance. You could say they wear the same pair of pants.”
Zhong Qin gave a bitter smile.
“The hell with the Immortal Alliance, helping tyrants, doing evil, and acting against the natural order. I personally suggest we withdraw from this sham of an organization.”
Elder Fang declared with righteous fury, which immediately garnered support from several other senior members.
Meanwhile, the people of Yanyang Sect stood dumbfounded not far away, eyes wide, completely unsure of what to do.
“If that fiendish specter is true to his word, at least if I stay still, I might get to become a zombie or wandering ghost.”
This was what Mo Long was thinking, so he calmly reassured his high-level followers and disciples. “Don’t be afraid. That fiend is indeed honorable in his way, he only kills cultivators above the Divine Realm.”
“And what about you, Sect Master?”
One of the senior members asked.
“Me? I can only stay put. Otherwise, I’ll die as miserably as those fleeing Divine Realm cultivators.”
Mo Long shook his head.

“But if that zombie is telling the truth, then staying behind means becoming a zombie or ghost!”
That same senior member reminded him.
Mo Long didn’t answer. A flicker of unease crossed his face.
“You don’t understand. Becoming a zombie or ghost is still better than being blown to pieces, with your soul scattered into nothing.”
Mo Long’s son argued in a twisted sort of logic.
“What a disgrace.”
Zhong Qin couldn’t help but mock. “The mighty Sect Master of Yanyang Sect, and you’d rather cling to life as a zombie or fiend just to survive? They say the crooked beam leads the whole house astray. Seems it’s true after all.”
Hearing this, Mo Long flushed with embarrassment and rage. “It would’ve been better if you’d kept your mouth shut, but now you’ve reminded me that my goal today still isn’t complete. Lingxi Sect must be destroyed today!”
“Father is right. If they really have contacted that Zhong Zhen, we must eliminate them completely, leave no roots behind, or we’ll suffer endless troubles in the future.”
Mo Long’s son echoed.
The disciples of Lingxi Sect, upon hearing this, all gripped their weapons tightly and readied themselves.
“Kill them! Just leave Zhong Qin alive for my son to take as a concubine.”
Mo Long roared and drew his sword, charging directly at the Lingxi Sect members.
“Is today really the end for Lingxi Sect?”
Despair filled Zhong Qin’s face. She knew that even at her peak, she wasn’t a match for Mo Long, let alone now. As for the others, they were lambs awaiting slaughter.
Qi Huang finally lost her composure. Lingxi Sect was the proxy force she had chosen, it absolutely could not be destroyed by a bunch of random nobodies.
“Let’s go. Time to make an appearance.”
Qi Huang placed Cheng Hongling into her storage ring, and her figure vanished in a flash.

Mo Long had just reached the front of Lingxi Sect’s crowd. Seeing the despair in Zhong Qin’s eyes, he felt an indescribable rush of satisfaction. Revenge… This feeling was even better than breaking through to a new realm.
Mo Kong leapt up, wielding his sword like a blade, and slashed fiercely toward the Lingxi Sect members. Flames erupted from the sword, distorting the very air around them.
The Lingxi disciples felt like they couldn’t breathe. Their minds went blank, they couldn’t even summon the will to resist.
Zhong Qin clenched her teeth, trying to fight back, but her body felt heavy as a mountain. She could only watch as the massive sword aura came crashing down.
‘If only I had kept some strength back and not performed that blood sacrifice…’
She had finally contacted the ancestor, but Lingxi Sect still faced certain destruction. Regret gnawed at her heart.
BOOM…!
Just then, a muffled collision shook the earth.
The disciples of Lingxi Sect looked up and saw a slim figure standing before Mo Long, using only her Divine Sense to block his attack.
The woman wore a green knee-length skirt over matching pants. Her waist-length hair was tied into a high ponytail that fell behind her. In her hands was a crimson spear with dragon patterns. She looked valiant and awe-inspiring, though she wore a veil, so her face was hidden.
Zhong Qin’s mouth hung open in shock. For some reason, this woman’s outfit felt incredibly familiar.
Mo Long’s face was full of disbelief. He retreated rapidly and barked in a forced tone, “Who are you? Why are you meddling?”
The Yanyang Sect members, seeing their Sect Master forced back, stopped in their tracks.
“Me? I’m Zhong Zhen. Didn’t you want to meet me?”
Qi Huang lied without blinking.
“It’s Ancestor Zhong Zhen! It’s really her! We’re saved! We’re saved!”
The disciples of Lingxi Sect clung to this hope like drowning people grabbing a lifeline, trembling with emotion.
“No wonder her outfit looked familiar… It really is Ancestor Zhong Zhen!”

Zhong Qin suddenly understood, her eyes welling up with tears.
“Zhong Zhen? The immortal ancestor of Lingxi Sect?”
The Yanyang Sect members shivered in fear and backed away.
“You’re really Zhong Zhen?”
Mo Long’s expression turned skeptical. “Impossible. First, the spatial rift hasn’t been opened. Where did you come from? Second, immortals can’t descend. Everyone knows this.”
“The Sect Master speaks reason, this woman must be a fake.”
“Right, do you think just throwing a fake at us will scare us off?”
“She doesn’t even dare to show her face, clearly she’s guilty of deception.”
With those words, the Yanyang Sect members’ expressions relaxed.
But the Lingxi Sect members’ faces all fell into disappointment.
“First, it’s true that the spatial rift hasn’t been opened. But don’t forget, the fiendish specters set up a teleportation gate from the Immortal Realm to Kaiyuan Planet. I simply took that path. Second, it’s true that immortals cannot descend, but I am only a doppelgänger.”
Qi Huang removed the ornament at her brow, revealing the mark of her doppelgänger.
“I see now.”
Zhong Qin let out a long breath at this logical explanation. The rest of Lingxi Sect also nodded quietly.
“And even if it’s true, so what? How strong can a mere doppelgänger be?”
Mo Long couldn’t refute her and could only bluster.
“Don’t worry, you’ll find out soon enough.”
Qi Huang gave a mocking smile.
