Volume 13, Chapter 830 – Quietly Infiltrating

After killing Sha Hai, Qi Huang no longer had any concerns and immediately released Cheng Hongling.

“Wife, we might need to split up and act separately from here on.”

Qi Huang spoke gently.

“Then what exactly are we going to do?”

Cheng Hongling asked.

“Now that Sha Hai is dead, once those outsider ghosts find out, they’ll definitely panic and retreat to their base. I need to seize the opportunity to throw myself into their den. Only by doing so can I follow them to meet that demon and uncover the truth behind everything.”

Qi Huang briefly explained his plan.

“What about me?”

Cheng Hongling pressed.

“First, though I’ve brought most of the major sects on Kaiyuan Planet under the banner of Lingxi Sect, many of them only agreed due to pressure. Whether they will stay willingly is still uncertain. That directly affects the stability of our vegetable fields, so you need to do something to stabilize the situation. Second, there are still many native ghosts on this planet. Remember we initially planned to send them to Yin Planet No. 2 to help us farm? And they need to go willingly. You should think of a plan for that. Once I’m back, we’ll act immediately.”

Qi Huang laid out the tasks.

Cheng Hongling fell into thought, then spoke after a moment: “Actually, both of these issues can be solved with one method.”

“Oh? What method?”

Qi Huang asked curiously.

“The situation is unstable because you haven’t done enough. You’ve shown enough might, but not enough kindness. I’ll lead Lingxi Sect to eliminate the death zones on Kaiyuan Planet. That will naturally increase their trust in us.”

Cheng Hongling laid out her plan, then added, “And as I take out one death zone after another, the rest of the ghosts will start to feel immense pressure. When you return, you can use the excuse of ‘saving them’ to bring them to Yin Planet No. 2. To stay there, they’ll naturally be willing to help you grow ghost tomatoes.”

“Good plan. Let’s do that.”

Qi Huang agreed after a short pause.

“But for you to face that demon alone… I can’t stop worrying.”

Cheng Hongling furrowed her brows.

“It’s nothing. Didn’t those ghosts say the demon is only at the Master-grade level? My divine sense is already at the Kinship-grade, it’s more than enough to crush her.”

Qi Huang comforted her.

“How about I come with you, and we deal with the rest later?”

Cheng Hongling suggested, since the Immortal Realm was filled with powerful beings and threats weren’t limited to that demon alone.

“If I can’t handle that demon, having you along won’t help. Worse, you might just get caught too. But if you stay behind, it’s different. If I run into danger, you can break open the spatial barrier and summon me back immediately—just like we did back at the Honghua Sect.”

Qi Huang reasoned.

“Alright then. Just be careful. Contact me the moment something goes wrong.”

Cheng Hongling no longer insisted, but still nagged persistently, just like a little wife sending her husband off.

Then, Cheng Hongling swapped clothes with Qi Huang and impersonated her as she headed to Lingxi Sect to stabilize the situation.

As for why they swapped identities, there were two reasons. First, Cheng Hongling didn’t want to waste time explaining who she was. Second, if she showed up in the cultivation world as an immortal, people would definitely suspect her of possessing assimilation power… a force forbidden by the Heavenly Dao. So they had to be extremely cautious.

Qi Huang, on the other hand, removed her veil, changed her appearance, and rushed to the ghost camp in the Jinshan Empire without delay.

She soon landed near the camp, and since she wasn’t wearing a veil, she quickly drew the attention of several small zombies.

“Hey, there’s a woman over there! Look at that tender skin. She looks delicious!”

“Wait a sec, doesn’t she have a red mole on her face?”

“Not only that, it’s right under the corner of her right eye. Isn’t that exactly like the ‘tear mole’ that was described up top?”

“Haha, grab her quick! If she’s the one our master is looking for, we’ll strike it rich!”

The little zombies scrambled over, surrounded Qi Huang, and began escorting her toward the ghost camp.

Qi Huang wanted exactly this, so naturally, she didn’t resist.

The zombies soon dragged Qi Huang into the camp and reported to Deputy General Guo.

“General, we caught another woman with a blood tear mole on her face!”

One zombie reported.

Deputy General Guo seemed to think that small fry like them couldn’t possibly catch a big fish. Without even looking up, he waved them off. “Alright, got it. Take her away. Then go to the provisions officer and claim your reward!”

“Yes, sir!”

The zombies were a bit disappointed but didn’t dare argue. They continued to escort Qi Huang away.

‘Not even a glance?’

Qi Huang was a bit stunned but didn’t dwell on it. She obediently started walking toward the outside of the main tent, only to see Wei Zhuo lift the curtain and walk in.

Wei Zhuo paused in surprise when he saw Qi Huang, an intrigued look flashing across his face as he sized her up.

‘Did he recognize me?’

Qi Huang tensed slightly. This was a critical moment, she couldn’t afford mistakes.

“General Guo, where was this girl caught? Could she be the one our master’s looking for? There aren’t many with such a large and distinct blood tear mole. It looks almost like a birthmark.”

Wei Zhuo turned to Deputy General Guo.

Now Deputy General Guo finally raised his head. The moment he saw Qi Huang, he was also startled and stumbled forward to take a closer look.

If Qi Huang had been in her female persona, being ogled by these men would’ve been unbearable. Fortunately, she was currently in her male persona and calmly stood her ground.

“This placement, this size… it’s exactly as our master described. Could it really be her?”

After a long while, Deputy General Guo murmured.

“If it is, then congratulations, General.”

Wei Zhuo offered polite congratulations, even if insincere. As the newcomer, he needed to get on the good side of the camp’s second-in-command.

Deputy General Guo was visibly delighted and began questioning Qi Huang carefully. “What’s your name? Where are you from? And how did you get that mole?”

“I am Chen Yuzhu, a native of the imperial capital. The blood tear mole is something I was born with.”

Qi Huang feigned timidity in her response. “Chen Yuzhu” was a fake name she had used long ago when she entered the palace.

“Born with it?”

Deputy General Guo grew even more excited, muttering to himself, “Could it really be dumb luck? So many demons are looking for her, and she landed in my lap.”

“Where exactly did you catch her?”

He asked the little zombies a moment later.

“Reporting, General! We saw her while wandering near a hilltop close by.”

One of them answered.

“…Huh?”

Deputy General Guo was speechless.

“General Guo, is it really her?”

The zombie asked, curiosity piqued.

“I’m not sure. Lock her in the captive camp for now. If she’s the one the master’s looking for, you’ll all be rewarded.”

The general offered a tempting promise.

“Yes, sir!”

The zombies were overjoyed and continued leading Qi Huang away.

Even as she walked out of the main tent, Qi Huang’s divine sense remained locked onto Deputy General Guo and Wei Zhuo. She wanted to know when these two would find out that the Zombie General had already died.

“I’ll report this to the general and have him come confirm her identity himself.”

Deputy General Guo said, pulling out a Thousand-Mile Communication Tube… only to find that there was no response.

“…That’s odd.”

He tried calling a few more times but got nothing.

“Deputy General Guo… you don’t think something’s happened to the master, do you?”

Wei Zhuo asked, his expression darkening.

“What nonsense are you spouting? The general’s power is unmatched. Who in this mediocre world could pose a threat to him?”

Deputy General Guo barked.

“Don’t forget, Lingxi Sect summoned an immortal.”

Wei Zhuo reminded him, then added, “To tell you the truth, I’ve had an uneasy feeling since earlier, which is why I came here to see if you could reach the master.”

Deputy General Guo fell silent, his expression turning even more grim.

Meanwhile, Qi Huang was brought to the captive camp. The moment she entered the tent, she froze. This was no prison, it was practically paradise. Inside were girls everywhere, a sea of beauties chattering and laughing. It was hard not to feel tempted.

The girls, however, seemed used to such scenes and didn’t pay much attention to Qi Huang.

“Here’s your bedroll and bedding. If you want to live, stay put. Report to us before doing anything.”

The zombie guard tossed her a ragged sack before leaving.

Qi Huang looked around and found a spot in the back corner just big enough for a bedroll. She carefully made her way over, avoiding brushing against the other girls. The tent was seriously overcrowded.

Opening the sack, she found a set of bedding so filthy and foul-smelling that she immediately tossed it aside. From her spatial ring, she pulled out a fragrant, clean set of bedding and laid it down.

“Wow! Did she just take that bedding out of a spatial ring? Only Unity Realm cultivators and above can use those!”

“Don’t be so shocked. What’s the Unity Realm? I’m at the Incarnation Realm and still got caught.”

“Exactly! Even the zombies guarding the door are stronger than Unity Realm cultivators.”

Her action finally drew attention from the girls.

Qi Huang ignored them and lay down on her bedding, resting while keeping her divine sense locked on Deputy General Guo.

Around dusk, a small silver zombie captain burst into Deputy General Guo’s tent in a panic.

“General! Bad news! I heard from others outside that General Sha was killed earlier by that female immortal from Lingxi Sect!”

“What did you say?!”

Deputy General Guo leapt up from his seat.
