Volume 13, Chapter 834 – We Sisters Must Communicate More Often

The two of them led a group of underlings toward the courtyard where the mole-marked girls were detained. General Meng appeared to be a smooth and worldly man, explaining along the way with practiced patience.

“Deputy General Guo, don’t take offense. You should know that every time we’re sent on a mission, our lord allocates a fixed amount of resources to each division. Some useless fools, when they’ve run out of provisions, can’t even capture a few mole-marked girls, and since they can’t replenish themselves, they resort to all sorts of tricks: using teleportation gates, forging tear-moles, bribing gatekeepers, and so on. These little schemes crop up endlessly. The result is that the women brought back are far below standard. Our lord flew into a rage over this not long ago and punished several teleportation gate guards. So I have no choice but to take things seriously.”

General Meng’s tone was mild and courteous, his manner easy and approachable.

“Mhm, mhm, mhm…”

Deputy General Guo nodded mechanically, his face growing darker by the second, because every “little trick” mentioned was exactly what he had been planning.

Qi Huang frowned slightly at that. If this man surnamed Meng was really going to be strict, she might not be able to depart smoothly.

Deputy General Guo and General Meng soon arrived at the courtyard where the mole-marked girls were held. Qi Huang and the others were gathered under the orders of the fiendish underlings, waiting for inspection.

General Meng cast a cursory glance over them, then frowned. “Only this few?”

“General Meng, you already know how it went. From departure to return, we spent less than a month and managed to capture only about fifty of them,” Deputy General Guo explained again.

“Deputy General Guo, let’s set aside quality for now. Even in terms of numbers, you’ve only reached half the required quota. How do you expect me to let you pass?”

General Meng spread his hands.

“General Meng, we truly have no other way. For General Sha’s sake, please, make an exception,” Deputy General Guo pleaded with clasped fists.

“If I make an exception for you and our lord decides to blame someone, who’ll make an exception for me?” General Meng countered.

Deputy General Guo fell silent, gritting his teeth, at a loss for words.

Qi Huang, however, remained calm. If this Meng really intended to block them, she wouldn’t mind resorting to force.

“General Meng, may I ask if you have any spare ‘provisions’?”

After a pause, Deputy General Guo changed the topic.

“Why does Deputy General Guo ask that?” General Meng looked puzzled.

“If you have extra ‘blood’, please lend me some. That way we can camp here on Guhan Planet for a while. Once we capture enough women, we’ll move on. When we return, I’ll repay you double,” Deputy General Guo proposed.

“Deputy General Guo must be joking. You know well that our lord allocates resources strictly. And Guhan Planet doesn’t even have a living creature on it, where am I supposed to get extra ‘blood’ from?” General Meng replied, then added, “Besides, aside from Kaiyuan Planet, there’s no other inhabited world nearby. Where would you even find more women?”

Deputy General Guo’s expression soured; he knew Meng wasn’t lying. Once again, he found himself out of ideas.

“Deputy General Guo, why don’t we use the teleportation gate again, return quietly to Kaiyuan Planet, capture some living humans for food, and think from there?” Wei Zhuo suggested beside him.

“An Immortal’s Divine Sense can cover an entire planet. We barely escaped last time by sheer luck, and now you want to go back and throw yourself into their net? I, for one, don’t have that kind of courage. But if you dare, I’ll credit you for it when we get back,” Deputy General Guo shot back.

Wei Zhuo opened his mouth awkwardly but ultimately shrank back.

General Meng looked at the two with obvious impatience. He had no time to waste with such incompetents.

Deputy General Guo was completely out of options. His eyes began darting over the fifty-odd women, searching.

Qi Huang was getting impatient and was about to act when Deputy General Guo’s gaze suddenly froze on her.

‘What’s that supposed to mean? Did he see through me?’ Qi Huang found it strange.

Deputy General Guo stared at Qi Huang for a moment, then clenched his teeth and turned to General Meng. “General Meng, it’s true we don’t have enough women, and it’s unreasonable to ask you to let us through. But… what if one of them is the very girl our lord wants?”

“What?” General Meng’s expression changed. He immediately swept his gaze over the group and said sharply, “Deputy General Guo, you’re not joking with me, are you?”

Deputy General Guo didn’t reply. He walked straight up to Qi Huang. “Look at her tear mole. Isn’t it exactly as our lord described?”

General Meng stepped forward to take a closer look. The surprise on his face deepened by the second. “You’re right, it really is identical to what our lord described. Could she be the target we’ve been searching for?”

“Who knows? But if she really is the one our lord wants, and you block us here, you’ll ruin Her Excellency’s plans,” Deputy General Guo reminded seriously.

“But if she isn’t the one?” General Meng still hesitated.

“You’ve never seen that blood tear mole with your own eyes. Mistaking someone isn’t strange. Would our lord really blame you for that?” Deputy General Guo countered.

General Meng’s face twisted with indecision.

Deputy General Guo leaned in and whispered, “General Meng, you remember what our lord said: whoever finds the girl she seeks will be rewarded with a human-immortal-grade blood slave. If you let us through and it turns out this girl is truly the one, I’ll personally offer you a bowl of an Immortal’s blood every month as thanks.”

‘A human-grade Immortal as a reward? That demon is quite generous,’ Qi Huang muttered inwardly.

General Meng’s eyes lit up, though he still looked uneasy. “Can Deputy General Guo’s words be trusted?”

“I’m just a mere golden corpse. Do you really think I’d dare deceive you? Or is General Meng lacking the courage for such a small gamble?” Deputy General Guo used a goading tone.

“Fine. For General Sha’s sake, and since you’ve shown such sincerity, I’ll make an exception.” General Meng gritted his teeth and raised his voice deliberately. “This woman might be the one our lord seeks. You must not delay, depart at once!”

“Many thanks, General Meng!” Deputy General Guo exclaimed in delight.

Qi Huang also withdrew her killing intent at the right moment. The Immortal Realm was full of powerful experts; if she could avoid a fight, she would. Once a mighty presence was drawn in, regret would be too late.

“Deputy General Guo, don’t celebrate too soon. To return to Wuwu Planet, you’ll need to pass through three more teleportations. The three gatekeepers there aren’t as easygoing as I am. Whether you make it through will depend on your skill, so don’t waste my goodwill,” General Meng warned in a low voice.

“Thank you for the warning, General Meng,” Deputy General Guo replied sincerely with clasped fists.

“And another thing. Do you understand the meaning of not flaunting wealth? You’d better disguise that girl. Don’t use her as your lead again, or you may bring death upon yourself. The only reason I didn’t rob you while you were down is out of respect for General Sha, believe it or not.” General Meng’s tone grew stern again.

“I understand! Thank you for your guidance, General Meng.” Deputy General Guo froze for a moment, then broke out in cold sweat.

Once they were cleared to leave, Deputy General Guo immediately gathered his men.

Qi Huang and the fifty-one mole-marked girls were sealed once more into the spatial ring, carried by that same subordinate.

Before long, the group entered Guhan Planet’s teleportation gate, heading to the next base.

Though confined inside the ring, Qi Huang didn’t feel bored at all. Surrounded by so many beautiful, defenseless women, especially that stunning Yuan Xin, how could she?

“That Yuzhu, if I may ask… how old are you?” Yuan Xin came over and sat close beside her.

“Twenty-six,” Qi Huang answered casually, unconsciously leaning a little closer to feel that soft, boneless touch.

“Twenty-six? What a coincidence, I’m the same age! That must be fate. Since that’s the case, I’ll just call you by your name,” Yuan Xin said, taking Qi Huang’s delicate white hand in hers. “Yuzhu, don’t mind me being nosy, but among all these girls, we’re the strongest. If we want to escape, we’ll have to work closely together and come up with a solid plan.”

“How could I possibly mind? Tell me, how close do you mean? Like this… is this close enough?” Qi Huang asked, greedily caressing Yuan Xin’s hand.

Instead of pulling away, Yuan Xin lifted Qi Huang’s hand and placed it against her soft, full chest. It sank right in. “When I say close, I don’t mean physically. I mean heart to heart, you understand? Sister!”

“Now I understand,” Qi Huang nodded dumbly.

“Boss, the time for the Character-Shifting Art is up,” came the reminder from the male soul, Huang Tian, in her Sea of Consciousness.

“It’s up already? That fast? Did you get the time wrong?” Qi Huang snapped angrily. Because of that damned woman Cheng Ling, she could now only remain male for half a day each day. It always ended right at the worst possible time, just like now. Truly infuriating.
