Volume 13, Chapter 845 – Blood Tear, I’ve Finally Found You (Part 1)

Qi Huang dared not be careless. The moment she arrived, she released her divine sense to scan the entire star. She discovered that Wuwu Planet was saturated with a dense Yin aura. Yet, to her surprise, the environment was remarkably good. Many shade-loving plants thrived here, and among them, the ghost tomatoes dominated the majority.

Despite her nerves being taut, the corners of Qi Huang’s mouth visibly lifted. The sheer number of ghost tomatoes on Wuwu Planet far exceeded that of the previous planet by dozens or even hundreds of times. If she could absorb them all, the strength of her divine sense would definitely rise to the level of a Kinship-grade Immortal.

Of course, that was on the condition that she first eliminate the demon lurking on this planet. Without that, she would have no time to absorb so many ghost tomatoes.

Though the temperature on Wuwu Planet wasn’t particularly low, the oppressive Yin aura made it extremely uncomfortable for living beings. Fortunately, the mole-marked girls each carried protective talismans given to them by Yuan Xin, which allowed them to barely hang on.

Under Zeng Xiao’s leadership, the group of “people” passed through layer after layer of checkpoints, heading toward the demon’s location, a ruined city that they referred to as Demon Capital, and its overlord as the Demon Lord.

Qi Huang asked for the general location of this Demon Capital and extended her divine sense. Soon, the details of that place entered her mind.

The so-called “capital” truly lived up to its name. It was a colossal, shattered city. Due to the presence of millions of fiendish specters, the place had been corroded by Yin energy, with decaying spots visible everywhere. Only a massive palace complex at the center remained mostly intact.

Within the grandest palace hall of that palace, a grotesque monster lay lazily sprawled across a custom-made giant bed. Its appearance resembled a massive bluish-black caterpillar. Its obese body was coiled like a python, pressing down on the sturdy bed so heavily that it groaned under the weight. Its entire form was covered in hair-like spikes, each about a foot long, reflecting a slimy green sheen. Some even dripped viscous, poisonous fluid… utterly revolting.

What made this new monster even more unnerving was that it had the face of a pale-skinned woman. Though her features were somewhat twisted, one could vaguely see traces of “Lu Yao”. Moreover, a faint pink radiance emanated from its body, evidence of leaked Assimilation Qi.

Seeing all this, Qi Huang’s faint hopes of coincidence vanished. She knew there was no such thing as coincidence in this world. This monster was definitely connected to Lu Yao. From that, she deduced: the one she was looking for was very likely herself.

Still, Qi Huang intended to confirm it personally before she could truly rest easy.

Zeng Xiao’s underlings, all famished fiendish specters reduced to little more than skin and bone, cheered joyfully at the sight of their homeland. They scattered to find merchants and buy fresh blood to fill their bellies.

Yes, merchants!

Even though this was a planet ruled by fiendish specters, its society operated similarly to the human world; with families, towns, even nations. After all, these creatures possessed intelligence and understood the need for mutual survival.

Zeng Xiao made no move to stop them. After all, the journey to the Demon Capital would still take several more days, and without sustenance, they wouldn’t be able to proceed.

In contrast, the mole-marked girls knew they had entered the very nest of fiendish specters. One by one, they shrank into silence, pitifully clinging to Yuan Xin like frightened chicks.

Yuan Xin, beautiful and kindhearted as she was, also knew her own limitations. She tightly clung to Qi Huang, while the rest of the mole-marked girls clung to her in an odd cluster.

Qi Huang still hadn’t revealed her “true identity” to the other mole-marked girls, fearing their loose tongues would leak the secret prematurely.

Once the underlings had eaten their fill, Zeng Xiao led the group forward again. Passing through checkpoint after checkpoint, they finally reached the Demon Capital at noon on the sixth day.

“Immortal, you must still have some food left, right? They haven’t eaten all morning. Could you spare some for them?”

Yuan Xin asked via mental transmission.

“I can, but only after we meet the demon.”

Qi Huang replied.

“Why?”

Yuan Xin asked, confused.

“You’ll know once we get there.”

Qi Huang gave a perfunctory answer. The real reason she withheld food that morning was that she feared if these women ate too much, they’d vomit at the sight of that disgusting caterpillar in the palace.

“I wonder what this demon looks like. A zombie? A skeletal ghost? What does it want with us?”

“If it’s a fiendish specter, it must want to drink our blood or devour our souls!”

“Wuwu, I’m so scared… Will I ever make it home to see my parents again?”

The mole-marked girls, gripped by fear and hunger, were trembling all over, practically glued to Yuan Xin like medicinal plasters.

Yuan Xin was helpless, but her good upbringing kept her from showing even the slightest displeasure.

Zeng Xiao produced his identity plaque, which allowed them to pass through the gates of the palace without issue. He was deeply uneasy, after all, he knew he had essentially led a wolf into the fold and bore heavy guilt.

Still, even in this state, Zeng Xiao never considered revealing Qi Huang’s “true identity”. The reason was simple: if he wanted to survive, the only path was to feign ignorance and let the two titans fight it out. Running out now to expose someone would be suicide.

The group soon approached the largest palace hall. Even from afar, they could smell a horrid stench that turned the mole-marked girls pale. But with nowhere to run, they had no choice but to press forward.

Qi Huang was powerful, but that didn’t mean she had a strong stomach. If she didn’t need to confirm the truth personally, she would have charged in long ago and reduced that revolting “caterpillar” to ashes.

At the palace gates, the smell grew even more nauseating. Even Zeng Xiao frowned in discomfort.

“Reporting to the Demon Lord, a batch of mole-marked girls has arrived.”

A zombie guard at the door announced.

“Enter.”

A middle-aged woman’s voice called from within.

“Yes!”

Zeng Xiao accepted the command and instructed the other fiendish specters to wait outside. He led the group of over a hundred mole-marked girls into the palace alone. His legs trembled with every step from sheer nervousness.

Without a word, Qi Huang quietly wiped off the disguise makeup from her face, revealing the striking red mole-tear on her right cheek. She had come to confirm the truth, there was no need to hide anymore.

As they entered the grand hall, the hundred-plus mole-marked girls immediately laid eyes on the terrifying caterpillar lying on the large bed. Its revolting appearance, coupled with the stench, overwhelmed them. They couldn’t hold back anymore and began gagging, hands over mouths.

Qi Huang silently praised her own foresight. Had she allowed these women to eat earlier, she would now be enduring the torment of both sight and smell… plus vomit.

“How dare you show such disrespect to the Demon Lord!”

A zombie maid in the hall barked in anger.

The girls froze in terror, pressing their hands tighter over their mouths, tears pouring down their faces as they dared not make another sound.

“Who are you? I don’t recall sending out any generals like you.”

The caterpillar with the woman’s face lazily lifted its bald head, casting a glance at Zeng Xiao with its crimson slit-pupil eyes.

“Reporting, Demon Lord, I am Zeng Xiao, an adjutant under General Sha Hai.”

Zeng Xiao immediately knelt to explain.

“Sha Hai? And where is he? Why are you, a mere adjutant, bringing the mole-marked girls before me?”

The caterpillar furrowed its brow and questioned.

“Reporting, Demon Lord, the situation is as follows…”

Zeng Xiao obediently recounted the events that occurred on Kaiyuan Planet.

“Few immortals have stronger divine sense than cultivation, but when it comes to doppelgängers, it’s a different story. If the main body provides more divine sense, then the doppelgänger’s divine sense is strong. If more true qi is provided, then their cultivation is strong. In short, Sha Hai running into an immortal in the lower world… well, that’s just his bad luck.”

The caterpillar gave its analysis.

“Yes, yes, yes…”

Zeng Xiao nodded obsequiously, not daring to mention any talk of revenge.

“Still, the fact that you survived such a situation and even brought back so many mole-marked girls shows dedication.”

The caterpillar with the woman’s face gave some faint praise.

“It is my honor to relieve the Demon Lord’s burdens.”

Zeng Xiao humbly replied.

“Don’t be too pleased just yet. If you want a reward, the quantity must be sufficient, and the quality must meet the standard. Recently, people have been trying to cheat me, grabbing random women to make up numbers. Those who deceive me not only receive no reward, but also face harsh punishment.”

The caterpillar reminded.

“I understand, Demon Lord. You may inspect them yourself. If the quality is insufficient, I’ll accept any punishment.”

Zeng Xiao said confidently.

“Very well.”

The caterpillar’s tone carried approval. Her massive body wiggled slightly, then rose upright. She lifted her bald head and crawled forward like a wriggling battering ram. Her sheer size was overwhelming, and the toxic fluids dripping from her spikes left puddles in her wake. A horrifying sight.

The mole-marked girls were trembling in fear, clinging tightly together. Even Yuan Xin’s face had gone pale, instinctively leaning against Qi Huang.

Qi Huang remained unmoved, even turning slightly so the blood-tear mole on her face was clearly visible.

“Hmm?”

The caterpillar finally noticed the “standout” Qi Huang, and her eyes were instantly drawn to the conspicuous red mark on her cheek.

“This is…”

The creature grew abruptly excited, dragging her bloated body closer with increased speed.
