Volume 13, Chapter 846 – Blood Tear, I’ve Finally Found You (Part 2)

The group of mole-marked girls were so terrified by that revolting human-faced caterpillar that their souls nearly fled their bodies. In a blind panic, they scrambled to flee, but most of them collapsed to the ground from fear and exhaustion, left writhing helplessly in place.

Qi Huang, however, remained calm and composed. She simply turned her delicate face to the side and pinched her nose in disgust.

Seeing Qi Huang’s lack of reaction, Yuan Xin forced herself to stand nearby, her entire body trembling uncontrollably.

The monstrous caterpillar swayed its bloated, dark bluish body back and forth, inching closer as it closely examined Qi Huang’s face. The woman’s face attached to the caterpillar twisted even more grotesquely from excitement. After a brief moment, it suddenly burst into a shrill, maniacal laugh.

“Ha… ha… ha… Blood Tear… It really is the Blood Tear of Demon Ancestor Lu Yao… It’s exactly as the saying goes, search high and low in vain, only to stumble upon it effortlessly!”

“Congratulations, Demon Lord! Congratulations, Demon Lord!”

Upon hearing this, the surrounding fiendish specters all grew excited.

‘So they really were looking for me, huh?’

Qi Huang shook her head with a resigned sigh. This meant that across the countless worlds, there were many other similar demonic beings searching for her.

‘But what exactly do they want from me?’

She immediately sank into thought.

Beside her, Yuan Xin remained utterly bewildered. As an outsider, she had no idea what was happening.

“Demon Lord, is this really the Demon Ancestor’s Blood Tear?”

A nearby maidservant with a spider’s body and a human face asked excitedly.

“Of course it is! I am one of the Demon Ancestor’s bloodline inheritors. I’ve seen most of her memories. I naturally know the exact shape and color of the Blood Tear.”

The caterpillar woman answered with absolute certainty.

“Then I must truly congratulate the Demon Lord! With this, if you can gather the other Heart Fragments, you could become the second Demon Ancestor.”

The spider-bodied maidservant offered her heartfelt congratulations.

“Heart Fragments? What Heart Fragments?”

Hearing this, yet another question surfaced in Qi Huang’s mind.

“What second Demon Ancestor? Are you cursing me to die?”

The caterpillar woman’s expression darkened in anger.

“Please, calm your wrath, Demon Lord! That’s not what I meant at all!”

The spider maidservant turned even paler with fright and dropped to her knees, begging for mercy.

“I know you didn’t mean that, otherwise you’d already be dead.”

The caterpillar woman snorted coldly, then added, “Lu Yao, the Demon Ancestor, failed because she was too young and careless. I, on the other hand, have lived over a thousand years. How could I possibly repeat her mistakes?”

“Yes, yes, of course…”

The surrounding fiendish specters all nodded in agreement.

Satisfied, the caterpillar woman smiled, then turned her burning gaze toward Qi Huang.

“Hehe… Those wenches never imagined that this Blood Tear would end up in the hands of a Demon Lord with only Master-grade strength like me, did they?”

‘Those wenches?’

Qi Huang considered the phrase carefully and guessed that the caterpillar was referring to the other female demon heads also searching for her.

“Demon Lord, since we’ve found her, what should we do with her now? Hide her?”

The spider maidservant asked cautiously.

“We should hide her, and with absolute secrecy. If the other Demon Lords find out, we’ll be in big trouble.”

Another maidservant with a lizard-like body chimed in in agreement.

“No need!”

The caterpillar woman shook her bloated head and said, “I only need to drain her blood. Before long, the Blood Tear will reappear on my face.”

“Even better. Keeping her around would only be a burden.”

The spider maidservant sighed in relief. Perhaps because their Demon Lord was weak, she clearly feared the other Demon Lords.

“You inherited the Demon Ancestor Lu Yao’s Blood Tear, so you must have seen most of her memories. You should understand what I’m saying. If you don’t, you’ll die a clueless fool.”

The caterpillar woman turned toward Qi Huang and mocked her, clearly reveling in the moment.

“Half-understood, maybe.”

Qi Huang replied calmly, then asked curiously, “Demon Lord, could you help me die with clarity? Why exactly are you after the Blood Tear? And what was that about the Heart Fragments?”

“If you’ve seen Lu Yao’s memories, you shouldn’t be asking such foolish questions.”

The caterpillar woman sneered in contempt.

“If you’re going to speak, then speak. No need to insult me.”

Irritation flared in Qi Huang’s voice. If this revolting caterpillar didn’t know her place, she wouldn’t mind striking immediately.

“Fine, seeing as we’re both bloodline inheritors of the Demon Ancestor, I’ll kindly enlighten you.”

The caterpillar woman didn’t immediately attack. Instead, she began to speak at length.

“Lu Yao’s rapid growth in power was thanks to two things. First, she had a heart that could constantly generate resentment. Second, she had a Blood Tear that had accumulated all her grievances. To her, the heart was like a windmill, and the Blood Tear was the wind. With the Blood Tear, the heart could function. Unfortunately, when she died, her body shattered and scattered across countless worlds. Now that I’ve found the Blood Tear, all I need is to gather the Heart Fragments. Then I, the Demon Lord, will become the second Demon Ancestor.”

“So that’s how it is… The other demon heads were also after the Blood Tear on my face for this reason?”

Qi Huang finally understood. It seemed Cheng Hongling’s guess had been spot on.

“Of course. In this world where the strong reign supreme, if you don’t escape the Five Elements Heavenly Dao, you’ll never survive your Death Tribulation. You might die at the hands of a fiend, or at the hands of an immortal. Even someone as powerful as Lu Yao, in the end, still died at the hands of a Celestial.”

The caterpillar woman sighed.

“Then who do you think will kill you? Have you asked a Tianjizi to divine it for you?”

Qi Huang’s lips curled up slightly.

“No. That would only bring me more troubles and zero benefits.”

The caterpillar woman replied solemnly.

“Then you’ve made no preparations for your Death Tribulation?”

Qi Huang mocked her.

“And have you made any preparations for yours?”

The caterpillar woman’s expression grew cold again.

“You appearing here proves that you haven’t. Do you know your Death Tribulation is today?”

“Actually, I didn’t know. But I do know that your Death Tribulation is today.”

Qi Huang shot back.

“Oh really? And where exactly is this Death Tribulation?”

The caterpillar woman mockingly glanced around, then suddenly opened her blood-stained maw and lunged at Qi Huang.

“Become the stepping stone of this Demon Lord!”

Yuan Xin stood frozen in terror, utterly incapable of dodging.

But Qi Huang didn’t move. A strand of hair from behind her swept forward.

The caterpillar woman froze.

Everyone nearby looked on in confusion, until they saw a crack appear on the creature’s thick neck. It extended swiftly around, connecting end to end. A torrent of foul-smelling blood burst out as the enormous head slowly slid off, the bloated body crashing down with a thud, connected only by a few strands of sticky goo like a lotus root barely holding together.

“Ah!”

The fiends shrieked in horror at the sight and scattered like frightened birds.

“This is… it’s actually the Boundless Demonic Hair!”

The caterpillar woman’s face was filled with disbelief.

“Surprised? Didn’t see that coming?”

Qi Huang taunted. Then, her divine sense left her body, pulling Yuan Xin and the other mole-marked girls into her spatial ring. She now understood that they had all been implicated because of her, so of course, she would take responsibility.

“It truly is a surprise. I didn’t expect you to not only possess the Blood Tear, but also the Boundless Demonic Hair. What a perfect double catch.”

The caterpillar woman’s aura didn’t weaken in the slightest. The inch-long bristles on her body suddenly stood on end, then shot toward Qi Huang with a shrill screech. Because the space within the Immortal Realm was reinforced by powerful barriers, the attack didn’t cause any spatial distortions. But had it happened in the mortal cultivation world, each of those spikes might have torn massive rifts into the air.

Qi Huang remained calm. Her divine sense exploded outward, instantly forming an impenetrable protective shield around her.

ZENG ZENG ZENG…

The piercing sound of the bristles scraping the shield was deafening. Yet those razor-sharp, poisonous hairs failed to even ripple her divine shield.

“Such powerful divine sense… No wonder you speak so boldly.”

The woman’s expression finally changed. Her dozens of stubby legs twitched, crawling her head back toward her body. As the two halves rejoined, the wound began slowly healing.

“You’re really tenacious. I’ve never seen a fiend survive decapitation like this before.”

Qi Huang offered a polite compliment.

“Have you never heard the saying: ‘A centipede dies but never stiffens’?”

The woman replied smugly.

“Centipede or not, I don’t care how many legs you have. You dare reattach your head in front of me. What do you take me for, furniture?”

Qi Huang’s divine sense suddenly surged, flinging all the bristles away and instantly blowing apart the entire palace. The surrounding walls and roof disintegrated into a storm of flying debris.

In the next moment, her divine sense contracted into a giant hand and slammed down on the caterpillar woman.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion shook the ground. The palace’s foundation collapsed inward, shattering a deep tectonic rift. A terrifying shockwave rippled outward with seismic force, instantly reducing the ruined city to dust. Mountains toppled, rivers reversed, and within tens of thousands of miles, the entire continent quaked as if the very planet itself were about to collapse in grief.
