Volume 14, Chapter 890 – Freeloading From Me Comes at a Price (Part 5)
“Yaoyao, didn’t you say you were hungry? What are you waiting for?”
Qi Huang urged Yaoyao without looking back.
“Got it!”
Yaoyao was overjoyed and rushed forward impatiently. That was a genuine Demon-grade zombie. If she could take even a few gulps, she might ascend on the spot.
Hou Biao wanted to stop her, but in the end, he didn’t have the courage. He could only gently set down the corpse of Xiao Jia’s mother.
Yaoyao’s small mouth was already dripping with sparkling drool. Without delay, she latched onto the neck of the corpse and began gulp gulp drawing out the blood while simultaneously delving into the host’s memories.
Xiao Jia exhaled deeply and then quietly waited on the side.
Hou Biao, however, looked utterly lost. He could only cast a pleading glance toward Wu Zheng.
“Strange, why did this National Preceptor suddenly get serious? Offending the Demon Lord Wu just for a low-level zombie with no background isn’t worth it.”
“For the zombie? No, she’s doing it for her pride. That little zombie was under her watch. If she let Demon Lord Wu’s people just take the corpse away, how would she keep face?”
“So that’s the reason. Then doesn’t that mean Demon Lord Wu will have to give up?”
“Not necessarily. If I were the Demon Lord, the best thing to do now would be to show some sincerity so both sides can back down gracefully.”
“What do you mean?”
“Put simply, the money wasn’t enough. If the price is right, anything can be negotiated.”
The surrounding fiendish spirits suddenly perked up.
Meanwhile, Wu Zheng’s face outside the arena had already turned ashen. He never imagined Qi Huang would be so disrespectful.
“Brother Wu, are you really not going to do something? If she exposes you, your reputation will be ruined.”
Fei Weng prodded from the side.
“Reputation is the least of our worries. If she starts investigating those previous corpses, we’ll be implicated too.”
Gu Tao frowned.
“Brother Wu, go have a proper chat with her. Offer some benefits to seal her lips. That way, everyone gets an out, and things won’t escalate.”
Ding Long offered his advice.

“Benefits? I came here today specifically to freeload. How can I give her anything?”
Wu Zheng’s expression turned cold as he stood up from his seat and flew into the field.
At this moment, Yaoyao was still crouched over the corpse, blissfully feeding like a starving baby latched onto its mother, except her growth speed far surpassed any baby. In the blink of an eye, she had advanced from mid-stage demon realm to late-stage demon realm.
“I told you to search for the truth, not to feast. Get a grip.”
Qi Huang hurriedly flew over to stop her.
“But… gulp… I have to… gulp… find useful memories first…”
Yaoyao mumbled between gulps.
“It’s fine. As long as she can confirm that this is my mother, she can drink as much as she likes.”
Xiao Jia said sincerely from the side, clearly just wanting to reclaim his mother’s body.
Just then, Qi Huang noticed Wu Zheng flying toward her.
“So he finally couldn’t sit still.”
Qi Huang’s lips curled into a subtle smile. She played dumb and asked, “And who might you be?”
“Greetings, National Preceptor. I am Wu Zheng, Demon Lord of Chongwu Planet.”
Wu Zheng gave a symbolic clasp of his fists.
“Demon Lord Wu? And what business do you have?”
Qi Huang asked with leisure and patience.
“National Preceptor, the group of zombies trying to claim the body down there are my subordinates.”
Wu Zheng gave a brief explanation.
“And?”
Qi Huang frowned, clearly growing impatient.
“So…”

Wu Zheng suddenly took out a Sound-Blocking Talisman, crushed it, and leaned in to whisper.
Qi Huang leaned closer to listen, only to realize he wasn’t saying anything. A hint of confusion flashed across her face, and she asked, “What did you say?”
“What I said isn’t important. What matters is this gives us both a way out. Just let my men take the body.”
Wu Zheng spoke with arrogance.
Qi Huang grew increasingly puzzled. She glanced around and noticed that Xiao Jia looked worried, and the surrounding spirits were whispering to each other.
“What did Wu Zheng say?”
“Isn’t it obvious? He’s persuading the National Preceptor of Minghou Planet not to dig deeper. Anyone with half a brain can see his men are making a false claim. If they get exposed, neither side will come out clean.”
“Persuade her? Do you think the National Preceptor of Minghou Planet would listen to him?”
“Of course not with just empty words. But what if he offered something valuable?”
“You didn’t hear a word, how do you know? For all we know, he could’ve been threatening her.”
“A Demon-grade ghost threatening a Heavenly Demon-grade ghost? Haha, would you threaten your dad?”
“Of course not, because I don’t have dirt on my dad. But whether the National Preceptor has a weakness in Wu Zheng’s hands, that’s a different story.”
“Like what?”
“For example, Wu Zheng might’ve planted a spy near her, ready to leak Minghou Planet’s coordinates to the Immortal Alliance. Could she afford not to cave?”
“Hmm, makes sense.”
The spirits all began speculating wildly.
Qi Huang heard the murmurs and her expression turned icy. This guy was trying to fabricate the illusion of secretly bribing her. That way, not only could his men take Xiao Jia’s mother’s body, but both sides would also save face.
‘But the problem is, where’s the bribe? If there’s no actual gift, those ghosts outside can think whatever they want. Some might even believe he has leverage over me and forced me to yield.’
Qi Huang let out a furious laugh. She hadn’t expected this man to still be thinking about freeloading at this point. Absolutely unforgivable.
Qi Huang broke the soundproof barrier with a wave, and bluntly asked, “Demon Lord Wu, I’m really curious… where exactly do you get the courage to play little tricks with this National Preceptor?”
“You… what are you implying?”

Wu Zheng was stunned.
“What do I mean? You really think I couldn’t see through your freeloading scheme? I was just luring you into a trap.”
Qi Huang sneered coldly.
“A trap?”
A flicker of panic crossed Wu Zheng’s face.
“This National Preceptor already said, any ghost attempting to claim falsely will pay a heavy price. Since so many of you chose to ignore that, I suppose I’ll need to make an example of a few to scare the rest.”
Qi Huang’s smile grew dazzling. She turned toward Yaoyao and asked, “Done? Stop feeding.”
Yaoyao finally lifted her little head and pointed at Xiao Jia. “This corpse does belong to his mother.”
Xiao Jia was overjoyed and repeatedly thanked Yaoyao.
Qi Huang turned to Hou Biao. “Any last words?”
“No, no, no… you can’t kill me… I’m one of Demon Lord Wu’s men!”
Hou Biao forced himself to argue.
“National Preceptor, let’s not go that far. There’s no need to ruin things over an ant. The ghost race is already weak in the Immortal Realm. We should be cooperating.”
Wu Zheng, his face dark, tried to appeal to reason and emotion.
“Die.”
Qi Huang didn’t even spare him a glance. With a flash of her sword, Hou Biao’s head slid cleanly from his shoulders. Blood sprayed sky-high from his neck, and his headless corpse fell stiffly to the ground.
“Ah!”
The crowd of spirits who had come to falsely claim the body screamed in terror and bolted.
“Ah!”
Even the onlookers outside were dumbfounded. None of them expected Qi Huang to completely disregard Wu Zheng and strike so decisively.
“Demon Lord! Avenge me!”

Hou Biao’s head managed to cry out one last time before his expression froze permanently.
“You filthy witch! How dare you kill my subordinate?!”
Wu Zheng was seething with rage, resentment flooding his eyes. Sharp zombie fangs extended from his mouth as his killing intent locked onto Qi Huang.
“Oh, that upset you? Not only am I going to kill him, I’m going to kill you too.”
Qi Huang calmly flicked her wrist, slash! , a cold light shimmered at Wu Zheng’s throat.
Wu Zheng’s entire body jolted. His enormous head tumbled from his shoulders, still bearing a look of disbelief.
“Ah…”
All the freeloading spirits were scared out of their minds, stumbling backward, especially the three other demon lords who had taken part in the scheme.
“Not only will I kill you, I’ll kill everyone who tried to freeload off this National Preceptor.”
Qi Huang released her Divine Sense. The three escaping demon lords were instantly bound and dragged before her, about to be slaughtered.
“Please don’t kill me… I’ll return the corpses right away!”
“Please, National Preceptor! It was Wu Zheng who masterminded this. I was just a follower!”
“National Preceptor, I beg of you! I’ll give up everything to make it right!”
The three demon lords struggled in vain, begging with all their might. Only now did they realize how utterly foolish they had been to scheme against a heavenly-demon-level being.
“Too late! Everyone who freeloaded off this National Preceptor must pay the price!”
Qi Huang, still calm and composed, swept her sword again, slash! , and the three demon lords’ heads flew into the air.
“Ah… Run! She’s lost her mind… she’s going to kill the entire world!”
Someone suddenly shouted.
All the ghosts were completely terrified now, fleeing in panic.
“Do I really look like I’m going to kill the entire world?”
Qi Huang asked a few of her doppelgängers with confusion.
