Volume 14, Chapter 926 – I Guarantee I’ll Kill Them
Cheng Hongling furrowed her brows slightly. After a moment of contemplation, her expression relaxed. “I think I understand what’s going on.”
“Oh?”
Qi Huang immediately leaned in, his face full of anticipation.
“The Five Elements Heavenly Dao created countless worlds, but due to the infiltration of Yin energy, it was forced to release vast amounts of spiritual energy to cultivate cultivators meant to eliminate those evil spirits. You’ve already seen through that overarching background, haven’t you?”
Cheng Hongling reminded.
“Yes, cultivators are merely tools of the Heavenly Dao. Once the evil spirits are cleansed, they lose their value. I’ve long realized this, and the current events in the Immortal Realm only confirm it.”
Qi Huang replied after some thought.
“But have you ever considered this: even if the evil spirits were eradicated, would the Heavenly Court really need to wipe out all cultivators and immortals? After all, the immortals in the Immortal Realm now are nothing more than their puppets.”
Cheng Hongling countered.
“Uh…”
Qi Huang found himself speechless for a moment. Indeed, the current cultivators and immortals in the Immortal Realm had long lost any sense of rebellion. Logically speaking, the Heavenly Court didn’t need to go to such extremes.
“I think it’s like this… countless ages ago, the Five Elements Heavenly Dao clashed with the Assimilation Heavenly Dao. Although the Five Elements Heavenly Dao eventually won, it still fell into slumber. To awaken again, it must absorb sufficient energy. So, the Heavenly Court plans to retrieve the Five Elements Spiritual Qi from all worlds to nourish it. That’s the true meaning behind the two Heavenly Soldiers’ actions.”
Cheng Hongling speculated.
“Sounds reasonable.”
The confusion in Qi Huang’s eyes gradually faded.
“And cultivators and immortals naturally count as nourishment too. That explains why the Heavenly Court would strike so mercilessly.”
Cheng Hongling added.
“My wife is truly brilliant.”
Qi Huang held back his praise, then suddenly realized something. “If that’s the truth, then the rumors about the Heavenly Dao awakening in fifteen years were lies. The real situation is that it can only awaken once it absorbs enough Five Elements Spiritual Qi.”
“Exactly. So we not only have to destroy the spatial barriers, but also do everything we can to stop those Celestials from reclaiming the Five Elements Spiritual Qi from each world.”

Cheng Hongling bit her lip as she spoke.
“Unfortunately, we can’t easily reach other worlds. Stopping them from reclaiming the Five Elements Spiritual Qi from our cultivation realm and the world where Cangmang Planet is located might be our final battlefield with the Celestial Real.”
Qi Huang’s expression grew incomparably grim.
“Let’s leave here first. The Divine Sense of the Celestials covers an immense range. We must be cautious not to be discovered.”
Cheng Hongling urged.
Qi Huang took a deep breath, then followed his beloved into the spatial rift.
“This Heavenly Court is really ruthless. The Immortal Realm is the only high-level world among all the countless worlds. Their Great Purge here is equivalent to severing all ascension paths for cultivators. From now on, under the Five Elements Heavenly Dao, no one can ascend again.”
Qi Huang lamented.
“This may be exactly what it wants. Releasing Five Elements Spiritual Qi to combat the Yin energy was just a last resort. If you were in its place, would you willingly raise tigers in your own body?”
Cheng Hongling analyzed.
“Yeah… Cultivators aren’t just tools… they’re also the greatest variable.”
Qi Huang nodded in agreement.
After that, the “couple” returned to Lishui Planet. Even though the Immortal Realm was now defunct, the greater threat still loomed: the Heavenly Dao. There could be no slackening of vigilance.
Above the Immortal Alliance, Yin Wan’s body was soon burned away entirely by his own True Qi, leaving behind nothing but a lonely Life Soul standing in place. As for the high-ranking officials behind him, their fates were even worse; killed instantly by the Heavenly Soldiers, their souls completely obliterated.
“I had originally spared your Life Soul. But since you chose to defy rather than comply, then disappear for good.”
General Qin’s face twisted into a cruel smile.
Yin Wan closed his eyes in despair. He knew there was no longer any chance for him to survive.
“General Qin, wait!”
At that moment, a voice suddenly interrupted.

Yin Wan’s whole body trembled, and he turned his head in shock, wondering who had the audacity to stop a Heavenly Soldier from carrying out his duty.
Looking up, he saw a soul figure clad in armor emerging from the spatial rift above. On his forehead were the same two characters: “Heavenly General.” Clearly, this was another Celestial of the Heavenly General rank.
“General Lu, what are you doing here? Don’t you know we’re performing official duties?”
General Qin’s expression hardened as he rebuked.
“Keep your voice down, General Qin. Come over for a moment. I have something important to discuss with you.”
From the other side of the rift, General Lu gestured repeatedly for silence and waved him over.
General Qin showed an expression of impatience but, after taking a deep breath, flew up to the spatial rift. “Speak quickly. If you delay my task, and the Heavenly Emperor finds out, can you bear the responsibility?”
General Lu glanced around warily, then whispered something to him.
General Qin’s tense expression slowly relaxed. “As the saying goes, ‘No reward without merit.’ What do you need me to do, General Lu?”
“It’s very simple. I hope you’ll show some leniency and spare his and my descendant’s Life Soul.”
General Lu looked toward Yin Wan as he made his request.
Yin Wan trembled, then couldn’t help but show an expression of surprise and joy. He never imagined that someone from the Celestial Real would intercede on his behalf.
“General Lu? Lu… Could he be one of Elder Lu Hong’s ancestors?”
Yin Wan quickly made the connection, and his surprise turned to wild joy.
“This is putting me in a difficult position, General Lu. If the Heavenly Emperor finds out, how would I explain myself?”
General Qin wore a troubled look.
“General Qin, we both serve in the Heavenly Court. Let’s not speak such pointless words. The revival of the Heavenly Dao requires Five Elements Spiritual Qi, not soul energy. What purpose does it serve to kill them?”
General Lu frowned.
“…Alright. For your sake, I’ll spare them.”

General Qin quickly softened his stance when he saw Lu was displeased. “But with the Yin energy gone from the Immortal Realm, even if I let them go, how long can they last?”
“You’re joking, General Qin. Even if Yin energy still existed here, they would never turn into evil spirits. The descendants of the Lu family are absolutely loyal to the Heavenly Dao.”
General Lu guaranteed.
“In that case, I’m reassured.”
General Qin smiled in satisfaction.
“You’re the current leader of the Immortal Alliance, Yin Wan, right? Come here.”
General Lu gestured toward Yin Wan’s Life Soul.
“Yes!”
Yin Wan respectfully answered and quickly floated to the edge of the spatial rift.
General Qin, showing some tact, withdrew.
“I’m Lu Wei, ancestor of Lu Hong.”
General Lu introduced himself first.
“Uhh… It really is you, Elder!”
Yin Wan sobbed in joy, though as a soul, he had no tears to shed.
“Enough crying. I want to know, how did Lu Hong’s mission go?”
Lu Wei asked impatiently.
“He failed.”
Yin Wan then recounted what had happened.
“Outrageous! Not only did they kill my grandson, but they also sullied his name? I swear I won’t let those evil spirits off!”

Lu Wei trembled in fury, his soul form visibly shaking.
“Yes, they’ve become completely lawless. We must tear them to pieces!”
Yin Wan clenched his teeth in agreement.
“Do you know why I saved you? I had a premonition his mission would fail, so I’m entrusting you to protect the descendants of the Lu family.”
Lu Wei revealed his purpose.
“Senior, I would love to… but in my current state, I can barely protect myself.”
Yin Wan chuckled bitterly.
“Don’t worry. Since I went to such lengths to save you, I will of course show you a path to survival.”
Lu Wei reassured him.
“What path? Please enlighten me, Senior.”
Yin Wan asked eagerly.
“Do you remember the decree issued by the Heavenly Emperor? Anyone who kills those evil spirits will be granted an exception and allowed to ascend to the Celestial Real.”
Lu Wei reminded him.
“You’re saying… you want me to kill them? But I’m just a soul now… I have the will but not the strength.”
Yin Wan looked at his incorporeal form and shook his head helplessly.
“If I’m sending you, of course I’ll lend you my aid. As long as you succeed, you can ascend to the Celestial Real along with the Lu family’s descendants. Do you understand?”
Lu Wei instructed solemnly.
“I understand. With your help, I’m confident. I swear, I’ll complete the mission!”
Yin Wan’s spirit ignited with renewed determination.
