Volume 14, Chapter 948 – This National Preceptor Is Angry

Before the words had even fallen, dozens of figures suddenly appeared near Han Qianyang. Leading them was none other than the Xi Family’s patriarch, Xi Lin.

Qi Huang watched on calmly, as she had long expected them to show up and cause trouble.

Han Qianyang, on the other hand, trembled inwardly. He hadn’t even sensed their presence.

‘How is this possible? I’m a cultivator at the peak of the Heavenly Tribulation Realm. My strength should already be at the pinnacle of this world. How could someone move so fast that even my divine sense failed to catch them?’

That thought sent a flicker of unease through Han Qianyang’s heart.

Down below, Han Yurou realized things had gone terribly wrong and quickly flew to stand between her grandfather and Qi Huang.

“Han Qianyang! So it was you who stole our family’s Immortal Stele! Excellent, now we can settle old grudges and new ones together!”

Xi Hou pointed at Han Qianyang and shouted angrily.

“Oh no! It’s the Xi family! Run!”

The citizens in the city below saw that things had taken a turn for the worse and fled, dragging their families with them.

Han Qianyang steadied himself, then replied coldly, “So you’re finally here. Your Xi Family shamelessly seized our Han family’s ancestor for years and even defiled his remains. Now, you want to use the Immortal Stele to seize control of my granddaughter. I’ve long wanted to tear you limb from limb. Since that’s how it is, let’s settle this once and for all today!”

“Hah! Since you’re seeking death, don’t blame me for granting your wish!”

Xi Hou sneered, then clasped his fists toward Xi Lin beside him. “Ancestor, please deal with this scum. Let the Xi Family’s might be known once again. Also…”

He suddenly pointed at Qi Huang.

“That masked slut! She murdered our household servants and publicly desecrated the Immortal Stele! She deserves to be sliced to death a thousand times over!”

“Oh yes, that was all me! And by the way, I stole both of those steles too. Surprised? There’s more—I’ve done a lot of things. Want me to list them for you one by one?”

Qi Huang cheerfully “claimed credit.”

“Did you hear that, Ancestor? Her crimes are utterly unforgivable!”

Xi Hou rushed to add fuel to the fire.

“So many people want to make trouble for me today, and you’ve all come to watch the show?”

Qi Huang seemed even more energized. She promptly summoned her two wives and An Xuan.

The Zombie Cheng Hongling stood disinterestedly. She knew this “wife” of hers just wanted to show off again.

The Life Soul Cheng Hongling at least put on a polite front, smiling gently and acting like a proper wife.

An Xuan, as always, bowed her head slightly, quietly fulfilling her role as a servant.

“Xi Hou, you really are useless. You can’t even settle a family grudge without calling for backup. Aren’t you ashamed to bring disgrace to your Xi Family?”

Han Qianyang pointed and scolded Xi Hou. He simply couldn’t see through the elder who led them.

“Backup? Are you blind? This is our Xi Family’s patriarch, Xi Lin, a once-in-a-lifetime genius who once intimidated the entire Muyi Star System and trampled your Jinguang Planet underfoot!”

Xi Hou boasted proudly.

“Xi Lin?”

Han Qianyang frowned slightly, then chuckled coldly. “Have you gone mad? Your ancestor Xi Lin ascended to the Immortal Realm tens of thousands of years ago. How could he possibly appear in the cultivation world now? You clearly can’t read his strength, so you’re just randomly claiming ancestors now, aren’t you?”

“I crushed every cultivator on Jinguang Planet back then. You should’ve kept a few portraits of me around as a warning.”

Xi Lin stepped forward slowly and said, “But no matter. Strength speaks for itself. I’ll give you one chance: hand over Guo Li, the Chaotic Corpse, the Immortal Steles, and your granddaughter. If you do, I might spare you a wisp of soul.”

“What a greedy demand. And why do you assume I have Guo Li and the Chaotic Corpse? Do you have any proof?”

Han Qianyang countered.

“I never deal in proof. If I kill the wrong person, so be it. In the cultivation world, strength is everything. Besides, just stealing the Immortal Steles is enough to warrant your execution.”

Xi Lin declared arrogantly.

“If you want to sentence me to death, let’s see if you’ve got the power to do it.”

Han Qianyang summoned his sword. A surge of golden True Qi erupted from his body, swirling around him in countless high-speed torrents of sword energy. In an instant, they converged into a towering blade radiating a fearsome oppressive force.

“Pathetic trick.”

Xi Lin snorted. His divine sense expanded and his domain unfolded, forcefully tearing apart the golden True Qi that had emerged from Han Qianyang’s body.

“Ugh…”

Han Qianyang grunted as the carefully gathered sword energy shattered in an instant. A piercing pain followed in his head.

“Grandfather, are you alright?!”

Han Yurou rushed over to support him.

Han Qianyang remained silent. Enduring the pain, he looked toward Xi Lin, his eyes full of disbelief. This was the first time he had encountered someone capable of dissolving his techniques with divine sense alone.

‘Could he really be Xi Lin?’

A terrifying thought surfaced in Han Qianyang’s mind. Because only the immortals of legend could pull off something like this.

“Hah! Now you know how powerful my ancestor is? A mere mortal dares challenge an Immortal, no… a Celestial? You truly don’t know your place!”

Xi Hou laughed triumphantly.

“That’s right. Hurry up and kneel, hand over my mother and the Chaotic Corpse, and let Han Yurou come back with me as a concubine. Maybe then we’ll let you live.”

Xi Yu piled on.

“In your dreams!”

Han Qianyang growled through clenched teeth.

“Still stubborn? Then die.”

A cruel light flashed in Xi Lin’s eyes. With a thought, his domain struck again.

Han Qianyang suddenly felt the True Qi in his Qi Sea spiral out of control, rampaging into his meridians like a flood. His veins tore apart inch by inch.

“Aaaagh!”

Han Qianyang cried out in agony. He tried to suppress the True Qi with his divine sense, but it was useless. His entire body trembled in pain, blood seeping from every pore.

“Grandfather… what’s happening?! Don’t scare me, please… sob…”

Han Yurou cried out, but got no reply. Her panic turned to sobs.

“Forget me. Run!”

Han Qianyang urged her weakly through clenched teeth.

“No! I won’t leave you behind!”

Han Yurou shook her head fiercely, then turned to Xi Lin in desperation. “Please… I’ll agree to anything the Xi Family wants. Just spare my grandfather!”

“Too late. He dies. And you’ll still have to obey.”

Xi Lin was unmoved.

“No… please… sob…”

Han Yurou wept uncontrollably, scanning the crowd before her gaze landed on Qi Huang.

“Is it my turn now?”

Qi Huang suddenly realized, her divine sense slicing out like an unsheathed blade. Effortlessly, it cut through Xi Lin’s domain.

“Argh…”

Caught completely off guard, Xi Lin groaned and staggered back.

“General, are you alright?!”

Several of his subordinates rushed to support him, shocked. They couldn’t believe that a Heavenly Court General, one with the strength of a thousand domains, had been humiliated in the mortal cultivation world.

Han Qianyang, on the other hand, let out a long breath of relief. He collapsed onto the ground, soaked in blood and sweat.

Qi Huang floated forward slowly and looked at Xi Lin. “You’re really good at showing off, aren’t you? But now it’s my turn.”

“Who… are you?”

Xi Lin forced himself to look at her through the pain. His eyes were full of dread and confusion, just like Han Qianyang’s had been earlier.

The grandfather and granddaughter pair also stared at Qi Huang, their faces filled with surprise and joy.

“I’ve embarrassed your Heavenly Court countless times and even stole your Celestial Star Chart. Didn’t the Heavenly Emperor send out portraits of me to warn you all?”

Qi Huang returned his question with one of her own, mimicking him.

Xi Lin’s face changed subtly, and a moment later, his expression froze in shock. “You… you’re that so-called Ghost-Haired Woman?”

“Ghost-Haired Woman? Who’s that?”

The Xi Family was confused.

“Ghost-Haired Woman? That rude name again? This National Preceptor is angry now.”

Qi Huang’s smile turned stiff, then she turned to Han Yurou. “Miss Han, destroy both of those Immortal Steles right in front of them.”

“Alright!”

Han Yurou wiped away her tears and summoned her sword. The steles were now just hollow shells, nothing more than hard stone. She was confident she could destroy them.

“You dare?!”

Xi Hou roared and lunged forward to stop her.
