Volume 2, Chapter 95 – Today, I’m Going on a Killing Spree (Part 4)

The Heyi Sect disciples had, of course, come for the Ghost Tomatoes, so they bypassed the village entirely and headed straight for the graveyard outside.

“Why are these guys here? Are they ‘doing good deeds’ again—playing heroes by vanquishing demons for the common folk of Huangtian County?”

Ruan Lingyu muttered as she walked back inside.

“Good deeds? They charge even more than we do! It’s obviously for profit.”

Shen Yuan retorted bluntly.

“Right! Maybe we should tell them straight—we’re here now, and we can handle the supernatural disturbances ourselves. No need for them to interfere anymore.”

Yun Fei suggested.

“Exactly. If we don’t make it clear, they’ll end up claiming these territories as their own.”

Shen Yuan agreed, and the other senior sisters nodded in unison.

“Then let’s finish eating quickly. We’ll go find them afterward.”

Ruan Lingyu urged.

Half an Hour Later

The Heyi Sect disciples returned, this time entering the courtyard of a village household.

Worried they might miss them, Ruan Lingyu led her junior sisters straight there. Qi Huang, as usual, kept her hooded cloak on. But before they even reached the door, they heard an elderly man’s desperate pleas from inside.

“Old man, out with it—where are the Ghost Tomatoes?”

“W-what Ghost Tomatoes? I truly don’t know!”

“Don’t know? That skin condition of yours is clearly from exposure to Ghost Tomatoes! You dare lie to me?”

“I—sob—I really don’t know! P-please, Cultivator Masters, have mercy!”

“What’s going on? Why are they looking for Ghost Tomatoes?”

Ruan Lingyu turned to her junior sisters in confusion.

The girls exchanged bewildered glances, clueless.

“Who’s out there?”

A rough male voice suddenly barked from the courtyard.

Ruan Lingyu took a deep breath and strode inside, her junior sisters following.

Qi Huang entered last—and the moment she did, her vision turned red with fury.

A Heyi Sect disciple had his foot planted on an old man’s back, crushing him despite his pitiful cries.

“Well, well! If it isn’t the Honghua Sect’s little sisters? We’ve been looking everywhere for you. How kind of you to deliver yourselves to us.”

The leader, Ma Shixiong, grinned with malicious amusement.

“What do you want with us? Whatever it is, let that old man go first. What kind of righteous cultivators bully the weak and helpless?”

Ruan Lingyu’s voice was sharp with condemnation.

“Fine! But first, hand over those two Ghost Tomatoes you stole.”

Ma Shixiong bargained.

“Ghost Tomatoes? How do you even know we have them?”

Ruan Lingyu’s delicate brows knitted together.

“Cut the crap! We planted those Ghost Tomatoes. We already asked around in Gaoge Village—they said you took them. Hand them over now, or things will get ugly.”

Ge Hao, the disciple still stepping on the old man, snarled aggressively.

“Those Ghost Tomato seeds were obtained through immense effort by our Heyi Sect. If you return them willingly, we’ll let you off easy—out of respect for our shared alliance under the Immortal Alliance.”

Ma Shixiong feigned magnanimity.

The girls finally understood—no wonder they kept encountering such rare plants. They were cultivated deliberately.

“So, the Ghost Tomatoes in Bajiao Village were also planted by you?”

Qi Huang’s voice, muffled under her hood, was eerily calm.

The realization hit the girls like a thunderbolt. Their delicate faces twisted with fury. They had witnessed the village’s suffering firsthand. If it were a natural disaster, they could only lament. But if this was man-made, the perpetrators deserved nothing less than the Eighteen Hells.

“Of course! Did you think Ghost Tomatoes grow wild in such numbers?”

Ma Shixiong smirked, shamelessly proud.

“Do you have any idea how many villagers have been poisoned because of your reckless cultivation? Most of them are already dead!”

Ruan Lingyu’s words were gritted through clenched teeth.

“That’s their own fault for touching what wasn’t theirs.”

Ge Hao replied coldly, grinding his foot harder into the old man’s leg.

“So it was you beasts! You destroyed my family!”

The old man, no longer cowering, suddenly lunged and bit down hard on Ge Hao’s calf.

“AH! You’re dead!”

Ge Hao roared in pain, raising his leg to kick—

But before he could, a single strand of Qi Huang’s hair slithered across the ground, pierced through his left chest like a steel needle, and retracted just as swiftly.

Ge Hao gasped—a sharp sting, then agony ten thousand times worse. His strength drained instantly. Clutching his chest, he collapsed, howling like a butchered animal.

“What just happened?!”

Everyone stared in shock. None present had reached the Unity Realm, making it impossible to detect the near-invisible hair strand.

The old man, terrified, scrambled away.

“Ge Hao! What’s wrong?”

Ma Shixiong crouched beside him urgently.

“M-Ma Shixiong… my chest… it hurts…”

Tears and snot streamed down Ge Hao’s face as he curled into a fetal position.

Ma Shixiong tore open Ge Hao’s robes—no visible wound. Channeling qi to inspect internally, he discovered the horrifying truth: with every heartbeat, blood gushed from his heart.

A closer examination revealed a tiny red dot on Ge Hao’s left pectoral.

“Ma Shixiong… I… I don’t want to die… I haven’t even married yet…!”

Through internal vision, Ge Hao already knew his fate. His face twisted with desperation—then his eyes glazed over.

Emboldened, Qi Huang sent seven more hair strands snaking forward.

Four more Heyi Sect disciples collapsed, hearts punctured. The remaining three, however, were Body Refining Realm experts—their hardened muscles deflected the lethal strands.

Qi Huang dared not press further. She retracted all her hair, staying hidden.

“You sneaky little bitches! Using hidden weapons?!”

The surviving Ma Shixiong whirled on the girls, cursing wildly. He didn’t pinpoint Qi Huang—after all, detecting hair-thin attacks was impossible for his level.

“That’s slander!”

Ruan Lingyu, genuinely unaware, refused to take the blame.

“Why deny it? So what if we killed them? These monsters bred poison that slaughtered innocents. They deserved worse!”

Shen Yuan, righteous fury blazing, owned the act.

“Yes! We killed them! Today, we’ll deliver justice for this village!”

Ruan Lingyu caught on, her gaze turning icy.

“You sluts murdered my brothers—men who never even married! I’ll capture you and force you into ghost marriages with their corpses!”

Ma Shixiong’s veins bulged as his muscles ripped through his robes, his aura terrifying.

The two remaining disciples drew their swords and crushed talismans, summoning iron armor that encased their bodies.

“Run!”

Su Qingying whispered urgently into Qi Huang’s ear.

Qi Huang hesitated—but reason won. Her only advantage was stealth. In a direct fight, she’d be a liability. Better to strike from the shadows.

The moment Qi Huang fled, the three Heyi Sect disciples charged.

Ruan Lingyu and her sisters engaged, but the disparity was clear:

Ma Shixiong (Body Refining 7th-8th Layer) – His iron-like muscles made him nearly invulnerable. He fought three at once without faltering.

The Other Two (Body Refining 2nd-3rd Layer) – Though weaker, their opponents (Miao Xiang & Shen Yuan) were only at the Spirit Gathering 9th Layer. Within moments, the girls were overwhelmed.

Qi Huang watched from outside, frantically calculating. The disciples’ iron armor rendered her hair attacks useless. If she struck recklessly, she’d only expose herself.

“What do I do? What do I do?!”

Then—Miao Xiang’s sword was knocked away. A brutal kick sent her flying, blood spraying from her lips as she crumpled, face deathly pale.

“Miao Xiang!!”

Qi Huang’s vision blurred with rage. She nearly rushed in—but logic held her back. It’d be suicide.

“Think! There must be a way!”

Her gaze darted wildly—then landed on an idea.

“The last Ghost Tomato… If I use it, maybe my Divine Sense can break through to the Incarnation Realm!”

She didn’t know if it would work—but it was her only hope.

Without wasting another second, she sprinted toward Li Shi’s house.
