Volume 2, Chapter 96 – Today, I’m Going on a Killing Spree (Part 5)
Qi Huang frantically rushed back to her residence and retrieved the Ghost Tomato. Truthfully, she really didn’t want to use it, but she understood that if she didn’t use it now, there would be no harvest to speak of—she’d be collecting the corpses of her senior sisters instead.
With trembling hands, Qi Huang opened the Ghost Tomato and squeezed its juice into a bowl. Then, she took out the Tongming Comb and dipped it into the liquid. Once the comb was thoroughly coated in a thick layer of the juice, she began combing it through her hair.
“Heavens, please let my divine sense break through to the Incarnation Realm! Otherwise, we’re all doomed this time.”
Qi Huang silently prayed. According to her master, once divine sense reached the Incarnation Realm, even without relying on physical strength, one could completely overpower cultivators in the Body Refining Realm.
As the comb passed through her hair again and again, a cooling sensation seeped into her skull. Her thoughts grew increasingly lucid, as if she had been reborn into a new world.
After combing over a hundred strokes, the bowl of Ghost Tomato juice was nearly empty. Qi Huang suddenly felt as if a thin membrane inside her mind had ruptured. Her spirit, as though freed from an invisible cage, felt extraordinarily light and at ease.
She took a moment to savor the sensation—it was profoundly mystical, like a frog leaping out of a well, a prisoner shedding their shackles, or a turtle finally slipping free of its shell. All negative emotions had melted away, granting her soul an unprecedented sense of liberation.
Qi Huang opened her eyes, her black-and-white irises now even clearer than before. With a mere thought, the heavy wooden table beside her floated effortlessly into the air, as light as a feather. Before this breakthrough, even lifting a single leaf would have required immense effort.
“Finally, I’ve broken through!”
Overjoyed, Qi Huang expanded her divine sense outward. Within a radius of a hundred zhang, not even the slightest rustle of grass could escape her perception.
At that very moment, Ruan Lingyu and her junior sisters had already been defeated. The three disciples of the Heyi Sect had thrown them into a corner, each of them battered and bruised.
“You worthless bitches! If you weren’t still useful, I’d have cut you down one by one already!”
Senior Ma spat on the ground, showing no trace of mercy. In the world of immortal sects, male cultivators were never short of women—no matter which sect they belonged to. He had no reason to be swayed by mere beauty.
Qi Huang’s divine sense left her body, lightly brushing against the ground as her physical form levitated effortlessly. Then, like a ghost, she vanished from the spot. This was the aerial movement of an Incarnation Realm expert—a feat achievable only through immense divine sense.
In the blink of an eye, Qi Huang appeared outside the courtyard. Since her feet never touched the ground, she made no sound at all.
“Speak! Where are those two Ghost Tomatoes?”
Senior Ma crouched down, roughly gripping Ruan Lingyu’s delicate chin as he interrogated her.
Ruan Lingyu’s face was pale, her body drenched in blood, yet she remained stubborn, refusing to even glance at him.
“Not talking? Then I’ll just kill them one by one until you do. A corpse works just fine for a ghost wedding anyway.”
Senior Ma shifted his focus, swinging his sword toward Shen Yuan beside her.

Shen Yuan closed her eyes, awaiting death, her delicate frame trembling slightly with fear.
“NO!”
Ruan Lingyu and the other three junior sisters cried out in horror, but what happened next would be seared into their memories forever.
The edge of Senior Ma’s sword had already touched Shen Yuan’s throat—but then, it was as if an invisible mountain had crushed down upon him. His entire body swayed unsteadily, his sword shaking violently in his grip.
The other two Heyi Sect disciples fared even worse, collapsing face-first onto the ground like toads, limbs splayed in utter humiliation.
“Th-this… this is… the divine sense pressure of the Incarnation Realm!”
Senior Ma’s sword clattered to the ground. Beads of sweat dotted his forehead as he struggled to speak.
Ruan Lingyu and her sisters exchanged bewildered glances, completely clueless about what was happening.
The mastermind behind this, of course, was Qi Huang. Once divine sense reached the Incarnation Realm, dealing with Body Refining cultivators was nothing short of a one-sided slaughter.
“Which… which senior has graced us with their presence? This… this junior is a disciple of the Heyi Sect… the Heyi Sect…”
Senior Ma desperately propped himself up with his hands, unwilling to simply wait for death. He announced his sect’s name, hoping to intimidate the unseen opponent.
The next moment, three strands of Qi Huang’s hair shot out. Their speed and hardness were incomparable to before, instantly piercing through the hearts of the other two Heyi Sect disciples and puncturing Senior Ma’s dantian. None of their defenses offered the slightest resistance.
With his dantian crippled, Senior Ma let out a bloodcurdling scream. Decades’ worth of cultivated true qi leaked out uncontrollably, rendering him a complete cripple in mere moments. The divine sense pressure slammed him face-first into the ground.
Ruan Lingyu and her sisters were terrified, huddling together as they trembled uncontrollably.
Only after confirming that the threat had been neutralized did Qi Huang retract her divine sense. She let her feet touch the ground and then rushed into the courtyard, feigning panic.
“Senior Sisters! What’s going on?”
Once inside, Qi Huang immediately began her act.
“Shh! Don’t speak! There’s an Incarnation Realm expert nearby!”
Ruan Lingyu urgently pressed a finger to her lips.
Qi Huang nearly laughed but forced herself to maintain the act, nervously glancing around. “Where? Where is this expert?”

The other sisters also looked around warily, their expressions tense. The courtyard fell into an eerie silence, broken only by the occasional groans from Senior Ma.
“Maybe… they left?”
After a long pause, Ruan Lingyu finally spoke uncertainly.
“Senior Sister, who do you think that expert was? Why did they save us?”
The injured Miao Xiang weakly asked.
“No idea. Probably just passing by and couldn’t stand seeing them bully the weak.”
Ruan Lingyu speculated.
The sisters whispered among themselves for a while before finally relaxing. They helped each other up from the ground.
Ruan Lingyu began giving orders. The severely injured—Miao Xiang, Shen Yuan, and Su Qingying—were to return to Li Shi’s house for treatment. The others would stay behind to clean up the mess.
“There’s still this half-dead bastard left. What should we do with him?”
Yun Fei stroked her smooth chin in thought.
“This kind of scum has committed countless atrocities. Why keep him? Just kill him!”
Ruan Lingyu glared at Senior Ma with fury.
“Wait! Let’s not be too hasty!”
Qi Huang quickly intervened. She had been forced to use her last Ghost Tomato because of these people—she couldn’t let this end without reclaiming some compensation. Otherwise, her vegetable-growing plans would be completely ruined. This was precisely why she had left one alive.
“What’s wrong?”
Ruan Lingyu looked at her in confusion.
“Senior Sister, have you forgotten? They were the ones who planted the Ghost Tomatoes. Who knows how many there are in total? If we don’t find and destroy them all, tragedies like Bajiao Village will keep happening.”
Qi Huang argued logically, then added, “And we still don’t know why they were growing them in the first place!”

“You’re right.”
Realization dawned on Ruan Lingyu. She viciously kicked Senior Ma and demanded, “Talk! How many Ghost Tomatoes did you plant?”
Senior Ma groaned but refused to answer.
“Looks like you prefer punishment over cooperation.”
Ruan Lingyu drew her sword and ruthlessly stabbed it into Senior Ma’s thigh.
“AHH!”
Senior Ma howled in pain before breaking down into tears. “I’ll talk! I’ll talk! We planted ten Ghost Tomatoes in total!”
“Only ten?”
Ruan Lingyu raised her sword again, ready to stab.
“Don’t be too cruel!”
Qi Huang pretended to intervene.
Senior Ma, however, didn’t dare take her words at face value. He hurriedly begged, “Don’t stab me! It’s really just ten! I swear! Those things are extremely rare. Our Heyi Sect went through great lengths just to obtain a few seeds!”
“Ten in total, or ten within Huangtian County?”
Qi Huang took over the interrogation.
“Ten in total, all planted in your county.”
Senior Ma confessed.
“Why?”
Ruan Lingyu pressed.
“Because… because… they’re dangerous. Once poisoned, it’s extremely difficult to treat. We didn’t want to plant them near our own homes.”
Senior Ma answered guiltily.

“So you planted all of them in Huangtian County instead? Are you even human?!”
Ruan Lingyu flew into a rage before turning to Qi Huang. “Can I be cruel now?”
“At this point, even I want to be cruel!”
Qi Huang gritted her teeth until they creaked.
“Then let him experience double cruelty!”
Ruan Lingyu raised her sword and began stabbing at blinding speed, her movements leaving afterimages.
Stab! Stab! Stabstabstab!
“AHHH—!”
Senior Ma shrieked like a tortured ghost, blood spraying from his legs like a fountain.
But Qi Huang was still not satisfied. She truly wanted to chop this bastard into pieces, but a sliver of remaining rationality kept her calm.
“Why were you growing Ghost Tomatoes?”
Qi Huang took a deep breath and continued the interrogation.
Senior Ma hesitated, his lips sealed shut.
“Not talking? Then I’ll turn you into a pincushion!”
Ruan Lingyu showed no mercy, stabbing her sword down again and again until Senior Ma’s thigh resembled a honeycomb, blood pouring out in streams.
“AHH! STOP! I’LL TALK! I’LL TALK!”
Senior Ma screamed in surrender. “It was to lure out the Blue-Scaled King Snake!”
“What?! The Blue-Scaled King Snake?!”
Qi Huang and her two senior sisters exchanged shocked glances.
