Chapter 30: Pain And Pleasure.

Su Qin bit her lower lip and glanced down, then back at him.

"You… how do you want me to do it here?" she muttered.

Li Jian did not answer immediately as the pressure from the Golden Marrow Tempering Pool was still tearing through his meridians.

If he stayed fully submerged like this, he really might not last.

The tempering force was useful, but his foundation was too weak to take it all at once.

He exhaled sharply and pushed himself back.

With some effort, he sat up onto the stone edge of the pool, leaving only his legs in the liquid.

The heavy force immediately lessened.

Pain still lingered in his meridians, but it was no longer at the point of bursting.

"I'll rest here first," he said, his voice a little hoarse. "If I keep soaking without a break, my meridians might really explode."

Just as he settled on the edge, the remaining energy that had rushed through his body suddenly gathered downward-
