Chapter 27: Heavy Strike
Chapter 27: Heavy Strike
The size of a human was like that of a dwarf in front of the Magic Ape Beast.
It stood seven or eight meters tall, weighed several tons, and possessed power ful limbs. When the Magic Ape Beast ran, the momentum was terrifying.
Zhou Liming was furious. Originally, he would have been safe this time, but just as he was leaving, he was put in this situation by the distress calls of these bastards. This Magic Ape Beast must have been resting, but it was awakened by the fireworks, and then it just happened to pass by where he was, so naturally, the encounter became inevitable.
Facing the imposing Magic Ape Beast charging over, it seemed like they were not opponents on the same level at all, which made Zhou Liming choose to dodge.
Despite the massive size of the Magic Ape Beast, its speed was equally astonishing; its charging speed was no less than Zhou Liming’s. Like a tank roaring as it rushed up, Zhou Liming dodged, and the Magic Ape Beast fiercely slammed into the building where the supermarket was located.
With a loud “boom,” the sound echoed through the street. The entire building shook, walls cracked, and countless fissures appeared like a spider web. Dust raised by the cracking flew everywhere, and large chunks of cement fell down with a clatter, like a heavy rain pouring down.
The spot hit by the Magic Ape Beast was directly smashed; the cement and bricks inside were powerless to resist and caved in deeply.
The Magic Ape Beast missed its strike and roared again. As it spun around fiercely, the cement chunks fallen on its body were flung off, making it appear even more violent. Its sensory ability was very strong, and it instantly locked onto Zhou Liming. As it turned, one of its right upper limbs swept over fiercely.
Driven by immense strength, the Magic Ape Beast did not appear clumsy at all.
“Damn it!”
Zhou Liming cursed. He could not imagine that with such a huge size, it should have shown a clumsy side. But that was not the case at all; its agility was even greater than that of a small Fierce Beast like the Green Flame Wolf, and its strength was even more shocking. Its skin was tough; with the impact just now, if a large truck had hit it, the front of the truck would have been destroyed, but for the Magic Ape Beast, it was painless.
The long arm of the Magic Ape Beast swept across, and the waist-thick trees on the street were actually snapped in two by it, falling down with a crash.
Although he knew this morning that the Magic Ape Beast was terrifying, he had only viewed it from afar. Now, after close contact, Zhou Liming realized that in its battle with the Fighter Jet, it had not exerted its maximum ability. Possessing terrifying speed and terrifying strength, the combination of the two made it a dreadful existence.
But this was not the main point; based on his deduction of the Fierce Beast levels, the Fierce Beasts that landed on the first day would not have very high levels.
If a Fierce Beast merely at the bottom level possessed such terrifying abilities, then… what would it be like when high-level Fierce Beasts landed? Zhou Liming could not imagine. If that were really the case, the human defensive frontline would keep shrinking continuously, moving far away from the coastal areas. For countries with almost no inland depth, they were destined to disappear into the river of history under the impact of the Fierce Beasts.
The fierceness of the Magic Ape Beast and its roar only made Zhou Liming timid for a moment at the beginning, and then the blood throughout his body began to boil, excited uncontrollably. Surging power echoed in his blood vessels, every cell became active, and a feeling of pride rose in his heart, as if his dignity had been provoked.
Zhou Liming did not know why he had this feeling; perhaps it was this strange power inside his body at work.
He had no time to think much; he casually threw the bag containing food and jewelry to the side of the street. Zhou Liming followed this surging power and, with a low growl, instantly entered his Fierce Beast Form. His body suddenly grew to nearly two meters tall, and his huge tail lashed fiercely against the street surface, directly cracking the road.
“Roar!”
Zhou Liming let out a ferocious roar, and pushing off with his feet, the street surface was forcibly cracked by him. Zhou Liming’s personality would undergo a huge change as soon as he entered the Fierce Beast Form, becoming violent and bloodthirsty. He could not control this personality; while his genes gave him strength, they also gave him the violent side of a Fierce Beast.
Perhaps when he was still a normal person, Zhou Liming would be afraid and cowardly, but in his Fierce Beast Form, it was the opposite; the more dangerous it was, the more excited he became.
Like an arrow leaving the bowstring, his powerful starting force, coupled with the short distance to the Magic Ape Beast, allowed Zhou Liming to rush in front of the Magic Ape Beast in the blink of an eye. Leaping into the air, his strong legs kicked out fiercely, hitting the hairless chest of the Magic Ape Beast which had massive blocky muscles.
With the power of this kick, Zhou Liming was confident he could kick away a truck weighing several tons, but when it contacted the Magic Ape Beast’s chest, it only felt like hitting a wall; its muscles were only dented a little, and then the powerful rebound force sent Zhou Liming flying.
Zhou Liming flipped several times in the air and “banged” onto the ground, and the cement surface under his feet cracked again.
“What terrifying defense.”
Struck by this attack, the Magic Ape Beast only swayed its body, roared at the sky, and swung its giant palm to hammer down at Zhou Liming.
Zhou Liming sidestepped, and the giant palm swept past him, scraping up a gust of wind, followed by a deafening “boom” in his ears. The giant palm slapped onto the street surface, leaving a huge palm print; the immense force forcibly cracked the cement surface, sinking it down and revealing the five-claw print of the Magic Ape Beast.
Zhou Liming had possessed this power for too short a time, and he had no foundation in martial arts, so his fighting was completely without method.
Most of the time, Zhou Liming just fought by instinct, relying on his strength and speed to dodge or attack the opponent. More importantly, he had not fully mastered the power of his Fierce Beast Form; he only knew that the power was great and the defense was equally abnormal, nothing more.
Because of this, in the fight with the Magic Ape Beast, Zhou Liming’s ability to seize opportunities was very limited.
Like with this attack from the Magic Ape Beast, its chest and head were undefended, but Zhou Liming did not realize the opportunity; instead, he dodged and then stared at the Magic Ape Beast from a distance.
The violent Magic Ape Beast did not pause at all; it clenched its upper limbs into fists and fiercely pounced towards Zhou Liming, constantly hammering down. As Zhou Liming kept retreating, the street was instantly hammered into cracks, looking like a plowed field, shattered everywhere.
After retreating a few steps, Zhou Liming’s ferocity was also triggered. After a roar, he suddenly sprang forward to meet it, raising his hands above his head to block. Just at that moment, the Magic Ape Beast’s giant palm slapped down, meeting Zhou Liming’s raised palms.
“Ah, ahhhh!”
Zhou Liming roared as a massive force pressed down. The cement under his feet cracked, and then under the immense pressure, Zhou Liming’s legs sank directly into the soil, forcibly taking the blow from the Magic Ape Beast. But Zhou Liming did not feel well; his insides were churning, his blood was boiling, and he felt so uncomfortable he almost wanted to vomit blood.
However, the Magic Ape Beast did not have it easy either; Zhou Liming’s Bone Spurs successfully pierced its palm. The vibration frequency of hundreds of millions made the Bone Spurs indestructible, forcibly gouging two blood holes larger than fists into its palm. With a miserable roar, the Magic Ape Beast suddenly pulled back its palm.
However, the injured Magic Ape Beast became even more violent and ferocious.
It was seen suddenly throwing its head back and opening its mouth wide, inhaling air fiercely, and then flinging its head towards Zhou Liming. Countless air blades formed by airflow twisted the air as they flew towards Zhou Liming, who was still stuck in the mud, covering his head and face.
Seeing the power of these air blades with his own eyes, Zhou Liming was terrified. With a long string of roars, “Ah, ahhhh…”, the scales covering his body became glossier, and his muscles bulged. In the crisis, the power throughout Zhou Liming’s body was thoroughly stimulated; his scales almost popped out, and from a distance, it looked like his scales were standing on end.
