Chapter 28: New Ability
Chapter 28: New Ability
“Pfft pfft chi, pfft chi…”
A series of sounds came over, and Zhou Liming felt as if he were in the midst of a violent storm, with blades of air constantly attacking his body.
With his incredibly hard scales, Zhou Liming was confident he could withstand bullets from an ordinary handgun. But under these domineering blades of air, Zhou Liming felt a wave of severe pain all over his body; his hard scales were actually sliced open by these air blades. It was like being sliced by a thousand knives, with bloody lines appearing one after another, and soon his whole body was stained with blood.
“Ah!”
Zhou Liming pushed his hands against the ground and pulled himself out of the soil. Enduring the intense pain, he dodged the fist hammered by the Magic Ape Beast. The front of his body, which had taken the attack, was a bloody mess, burning hot as if it were on fire.
Zhou Liming stumbled, but after steadying himself, he instantly fell into a state of Raging Fury, muttering continuously from his mouth: “Bastard, bastard, bastard!”
The blood flowing from his body stimulated Zhou Liming’s brain, and the power in his body became even more violent and bloodthirsty, making Zhou Liming act like a madman as he shot forward. His speed under this stimulation was unbelievably fast; under the dim streetlights, he pulled out a long afterimage.
Zhou Liming appeared mysteriously in front of the Magic Ape Beast, leaped during his sprint, and stomped fiercely on the knee of the Magic Ape Beast’s strong leg. Then, rebounding off, he slammed fiercely into its abdomen.
“Die!”
Zhou Liming roared in anger, and his right hand smashed violently into its abdomen. The “buzzing” vibration frequency and terrifying piercing power created a wound in the Magic Ape Beast’s abdomen. Then, in a split second, this wound suddenly enlarged, forming a bloody hole the size of a fist. Blood spurted from the hole but was then plugged by a large piece of intestine.
“Roar… roar roar!”
Suffering from this heavy injury, the Magic Ape Beast became even crazier, and the frequency of its two hands became even faster. The surrounding trees were swept and broken one by one, and for a moment, branches and leaves flew wildly everywhere. Driven mad by the pain, the Magic Ape Beast suddenly smashed towards a six-story building nearby, its clenched fists constantly digging into it.
The whole building was like a piece of cake; under the Magic Ape Beast’s crazy actions, earth and stones flew everywhere, and it actually managed to tear off the first and second floors.
Then, to Zhou Liming’s astonishment, the six-story building, having lost its support, tilted and fell backward. With a “boom,” it raised a sky full of dust.
Zhou Liming swallowed his saliva. “Damn, is this even possible? It’s a waste not to work in demolition.” Although he said this, thinking of the attack power it displayed in its madness, Zhou Liming felt a wave of fear. The strength of this Magic Ape Beast was just too strong; in this aspect alone, it was far beyond what a low-level Fierce Beast like the Multi-legged Insect Beast could compare to.
The violent sound of the collapse traveled particularly far in the quiet city of the night.
In the distance, several men and women who had just been shouting and screaming finally noticed the movement on Zhou Liming’s side. They immediately screamed, and one of them even waved a white bedsheet frantically, shouting for help over and over.
Just thinking about them made Zhou Liming angry; if they hadn’t startled this Magic Ape Beast, would he have been injured?
But before Zhou Liming could curse a few times to vent his frustration, he saw the men and women on the building burst into even more intense screams. Through their voices, one could detect the sheer terror and despair. Soon, miserable shrieks came; amidst the sound of shattering glass, a corpse that had been bitten in half was flung out. It tumbled a few times in the air and landed on the street in front of the building with a “thud.”
The terrified screaming continued, then turned into several screams of agony, followed by a roar from a Fierce Beast, and after that, there was no more sound.
He didn’t need to guess; Zhou Liming knew these people were finished. Ordinary humans were like infants in front of Fierce Beasts. Their fate was merely to live half a day longer than those who died this morning. The entire Zhe B City had become a synonym for hell; did you expect Fierce Beasts to artistically leave a whole corpse for humans?
After venting this pain, the Magic Ape Beast stared dead at Zhou Liming with its two hideous eyes, snorting a few times before galloping away on all fours.
Although there was only one beast, the momentum it created was like ten thousand horses galloping.
Zhou Liming did not dodge; instead, he charged forward, leaping up violently. After rising over ten meters into the air, he raised the Bone Spur on the back of his hand, aiming at the Magic Ape Beast’s head as he descended. Since attacking the abdomen only injured it, what if he drilled a hole in its head? Zhou Liming did not believe it could still survive that.
However, imagination and reality always had a huge gap; Zhou Liming seemed to have forgotten the Magic Ape Beast’s excellent jumping ability.
Seeing Zhou Liming jump up, the Magic Ape Beast also leaped up while running, its ascent speed and height no less than Zhou Liming’s. Then, in Zhou Liming’s horrified eyes, the Magic Ape Beast’s giant palm swung up violently, swatting the airborne Zhou Liming towards the ground like a fly.
“Boom… thud…”
Amidst the flying dust, a giant human-shaped pit appeared on the street, with the surrounding concrete surface cracking. Zhou Liming was hit by the massive force and fell to the street like a meteor, smashing the street surface and sinking deep into it.
In that instant, Zhou Liming felt as if all the bones in his body were shattered. The wounds that had just healed and stopped bleeding tore open even wider, and blood gushed out as if it were free. But how could Zhou Liming care about all this? He felt his internal organs had shifted, and his whole body was about to fall apart. An uncontrollable pain nearly caused Zhou Liming to faint.
The Magic Ape Beast’s attack was not over; falling from the high sky, it also cracked the street, then walked step by step to the human-shaped pit where Zhou Liming was trapped.
“Chi chi chi” sounds came from the Magic Ape Beast’s nose. It opened its mouth, revealing its pale teeth, and then raised its giant palm high, smashing down fiercely at Zhou Liming in the pit. Its eyes revealed a cruel and excited light, as if killing its opponent was something that brought it joy.
Zhou Liming’s pupils contracted; the gradually enlarging giant palm blocked out the starry sky, and the entire sky lost its color.
“Am I going to die?”
Zhou Liming asked himself, then became unwilling. He had only just gained this ability; he hadn’t lived enough. He had the Dean, and a group of little brothers and sisters waiting for him to bring food back. He hadn’t had time to bring happiness to those around him, hadn’t realized his long-held dream, and hadn’t experienced a bitter yet sweet romance like others…
Filled with countless unwillingnesses, Zhou Liming roared: “No, I absolutely cannot die, I cannot die…”
With the roar, Zhou Liming subconsciously raised his right hand, like a final feeble struggle, hoping to block the Magic Ape Beast’s attack.
The Magic Ape Beast’s giant palm fell as expected, but a intense white light sprayed out from the human-shaped pit. Upon touching the white light, the giant palm melted and vaporized directly like ice under thousands of degrees. This thick beam of light did not pause for a moment, blasting towards the area between the Magic Ape Beast’s chest and neck… and then disappearing into the misty sky.
The massive Magic Ape Beast froze in all its movements, because everything above its chest was vaporized by this beam of light. The remaining lower half fell backward after a few seconds, issuing a loud crash, and the entire street fell into a death-like silence.
Zhou Liming took deep breaths of air; now his strength seemed to be completely drained. Without the obstruction of the Magic Ape Beast, the starry sky once again entered his eyes.
“It’s really good to be alive!”
By the light, one could see that the finger joints of Zhou Liming’s right hand had all disappeared, forming a cannon-like stump.
