Chapter 63: Going Berserk

Inside the Refugee Camp, a large area of tents was burning, and the fire became even more fierce as the wind blew.

Cries and screams rose and fell one after another, and the panicked people fleeing in all directions were like headless flies. The crowded crowd of refugees knocked over tents everywhere, desperately running toward the outside.

Having received the news long ago, they instantly fell into chaos, and the words spoken by the commander in the sky were directly ignored by them. Everyone was desperately surging outward, wanting to leave this place. But amidst the chaos, with over a million people gathered here, the level of crowding could be imagined.

In two hours’ time, only half had managed to escape.

A single flame breath from a Flying Dragon Beast ignited a monstrous fire in the Refugee Camp; just one flame turned hundreds of people into ashes. Although the Flying Dragon Beast only paused briefly before soaring away again, the panic it brought caused people to completely lose their reason, knowing only that they must escape this place.

“Dean, we… what do we do?”

Several children huddled together, and the sounds coming from outside made them all cry out loud. Over the past month, what they had experienced was something many people could not experience in their entire lives. The hell-like life of fleeing had undoubtedly left an indelible shadow in their young hearts.

Dean Zhou held the children tightly and said through tears, “Don’t worry, your Brother Liming will come back to take us away.”

Even An Xiaowei was stamping her feet; she did not know where Zhou Liming had gone, but facing the crisis at hand, if they continued to stay here, what if the Fierce Beasts broke through the Frontline… would they still be able to escape?

But even if they wanted to escape, how could they? Just look at the chaotic people outside; bringing along the elderly and children, there was no hope of a chance to leave.

Now, they could only wait.

With a roar, a Flying Dragon Beast circled in the sky, shrieked, and then dove down.

On the sentry tower stationed at the edge of the Refugee Camp, a mounted machine gun madly emitted a “da da da” sound of strafing. Bullets fell like raindrops onto the Flying Dragon Beast’s body, but its hard scales allowed it to basically ignore these bullets; it pounced down against the bullets, opened its mouth, and sprayed out a blast of flame, engulfing the entire sentry tower.

With a “boom,” the sentry tower immediately began to burn, and the three soldiers on it were set on fire. They screamed as they jumped from the tower, twitched a few times after hitting the ground, and lost their breath, letting the fire on their bodies burn until it turned them into ashes.

Several armored vehicles rushed in, and the high-speed machine guns on top aimed at the low-flying Flying Dragon Beast, firing madly. A series of flames appeared, and bullets poured onto the Flying Dragon Beast’s body. Although they could not pierce the scales, this kind of attack made every bullet cause pain to the Flying Dragon Beast, making it let out long cries.

The Flying Dragon Beast flying at low altitude generated airflow with its wings that made the panicked people below stumble; some were even blown away. Its wings, spanning over twenty meters, lifted up a patch of tents with every flap, messing up the entire Refugee Camp with collapsed tents everywhere.

In its pain, the Flying Dragon Beast charged in front of the armored vehicles in a few moves and directly slammed its chest against them. The armored vehicles, weighing several tons, were overturned onto the ground by it. Then, a flame sprayed out, turning the entire armored vehicle red hot, detonating the fuel tank and the ammunition inside the vehicle. With a dull “thump thump” explosion sound, the armored vehicle was nearly reduced to just a large iron shell.

Several armored vehicles were destroyed by the Flying Dragon Beast in just a moment, with no survivors.

The Flying Dragon Beast, having fallen into madness, suddenly opened its mouth wide again, and flames swept across, causing a chorus of screams to ring out. Under the high temperature, over a hundred people instantly turned into ashes. Tent after tent was burning, and soon they connected into a large sea of fire. The Flying Dragon Beast did not fly back into the sky but instead spread its wings and ran within the Refugee Camp, trampling across it and brutally stomping out a bloody path.

An Xiaowei, who was getting impatient waiting, heard the intense sounds outside, hesitated for a moment, and still decided to check the situation.

She lifted the tent flap, and what met her eyes was flames shooting into the sky. The screams of people made her ears hurt, and then the ground seemed to vibrate. Appearing before her eyes was a ferocious, gigantic monster that was charging madly. Under its toes, people who were stepped on became a puddle of mush. Those swept by its wings were hit as if by a heavy blow, vomiting blood and falling to the ground, clearly not surviving. Every tent it passed by was swept into the air without exception.

At this moment, An Xiaowei was stunned, staring blankly at this Flying Dragon Beast.

The reason was no other than this: on the path where this Flying Dragon Beast was advancing, the tent she was in happened to be right in front of it.

The menacing Flying Dragon Beast did not care who was in front of it; having been angered, it only wanted to vent and rage wildly here.

In just a moment, it appeared in front of An Xiaowei, and then fiercely crashed toward this tent…

“Faster, faster!”

Zhou Liming silently chanted. In his Fierce Beast Form, his speed had been pushed to the limit. He was sprinting over the city’s houses. When he encountered streets, or even avenues over twenty meters wide, he did not stop but leaped up fiercely, then landed heavily on the other side and continued to sprint.

In Fierce Beast Form, a distance of twenty to thirty meters was no difficulty at all for Zhou Liming.

Soon, he left the city center, and the buildings before him tended to be lower, mostly residential buildings. Reaching the suburbs, Zhou Liming’s speed increased even more as he leaped continuously while sprinting, and he could gradually see the Refugee Camp. However, the fire appearing above the Refugee Camp gave Zhou Liming a bad feeling.

“Dean, hold on!” After a few jumps, he finally leaped into the range of the Refugee Camp. He quickly glanced at the number of the area he was in, and then sprinted toward the assigned area.

Just as Zhou Liming arrived, he happened to see a Flying Dragon Beast charging madly. What made his heart split even more was that the place the Flying Dragon Beast was charging toward was exactly the tent assigned to him. From a distance, he could still see An Xiaowei, who had been scared stiff, standing there blankly, not knowing how to dodge.

“No!”

Zhou Liming’s face twisted. The powerful strength and the roar in his heart made him suddenly lose his shadow; the next moment, he appeared beside the Flying Dragon Beast and fiercely crashed into it.

With a “bang,” the massive Flying Dragon Beast was actually knocked several meters away by Zhou Liming’s impact and fell heavily.

The “whirring” sound of armed helicopters came from the sky. The arriving armed helicopters aimed at the Flying Dragon Beast below, and two machine guns were strafing, weaving a metal storm. Then, while swinging around, they swept past the tents and fired toward the tent where An Xiaowei was standing.

“Fuck, those bastards!”

Zhou Liming, who was a little dizzy from the impact, saw this scene. Thinking that the Dean and the others were inside the tent, his heart nearly broke. He shouted loudly and leaped up without regard for his own safety, pouncing toward An Xiaowei and using his body, which had grown larger due to Fierce Beast Form, to block in front of the tent.

The machine gun bullets swept across, and Zhou Liming only felt a severe pain coming from his back, burning hot…
