Chapter 7: Out of Control Hand
Chapter 7: Out of Control Hand
Zhou Liming rushed madly towards the school gate, moving very fast.
It was still class time, and when the gatekeeper saw a student in a school uniform rushing towards the school gate, he was certainly not willing to let it happen. The gatekeeper, a former veteran, blocked the small gate, intending to stop Zhou Liming.
“Get the hell out of my way!”
With a deep roar, giving the gatekeeper no chance to react, Zhou Liming slammed heavily past the gatekeeper’s shoulder.
The gatekeeper had not taken Zhou Liming seriously at first; a student with a small, thin frame—how could he threaten a veteran who had just left the army? However, a tremendous force came from the shoulder. Before he could even use his grappling technique, his shoulder felt as if it had been hit by a heavy blow. He was knocked flying and fell heavily two meters away, letting out a groan of pain.
Zhou Liming rushed out of the school gate, randomly chose a direction, and sprinted madly on the sidewalk.
The power latent in his body seemed to have been provoked. The scales on the back of his hands became clearer and clearer, and the bulging veins made one wonder if they would burst and spray blood several meters away. The blue veins looked incredibly hideous. The surging power made Zhou Liming tremble and shudder all over, driving him mad. Others could never understand this feeling; it was like a person with no strength suddenly possessing the power to easily flip over a car—what would that feel like?
Zhou Liming, fallen into a frenzied state, felt that only by running constantly could he alleviate the unbearable pain in his body.
The people on the road all looked in surprise at a student wearing a school uniform sprinting on the sidewalk… no, running much faster than a hundred-meter dash. Many times, people only felt a gust of wind blow past them, and a figure flashed before their eyes. Before they could see clearly, the person was already far away. He was more like an elf weaving through the sidewalk, running fast but always managing to dodge the oncoming pedestrians perfectly.
Running like the wind, the breeze blowing against his face made Zhou Liming feel almost as if he were flying. He did not know where he was running to; he only knew to keep running, accelerating, accelerating, and accelerating again, to vent the power that had no way to be released from his body and to lighten the burden on himself.
He did not know how long it had been… The bustling noise made Zhou Liming realize that he had unknowingly arrived at the busy city center.
His blood felt as if it were burning, causing Zhou Liming’s face, standing in the crowd, to turn from pale to red and moist. Beads of sweat the size of beans slid down his forehead and dripped onto the ground with a patter. Looking blankly at the endless stream of pedestrians, Zhou Liming, who was at a loss, really wanted to cry out loud. The fate of being expelled, and the unknown changes in his body—how could Zhou Liming, who was just a big kid, know what to do?
“Ah… ah… ah…”
Roaring at the sky, the bulging blue veins and blood vessels on his neck were clearly visible.
Countless pedestrians looked at this student roaring in the street with strange eyes, their expressions varied, but Zhou Liming seemed to hear nothing.
With bloodshot eyes, Zhou Liming kept asking himself: “What should I do, what should I do… How can I face the Dean? How can I have the face to face everyone who cares about me?” He shook his head, and his wet hair kept flinging out beads of sweat.
At this moment, Zhou Liming just stood stupidly in the middle of the sidewalk, in a state of confusion.
It seemed that a long time had passed. Zhou Liming, in his daze, suddenly felt someone slam into him hard. Caught off guard, he was knocked down directly. A voice came to his ears: “Damn it, do you want to die? You’re blocking my way!” The voice just hurried past, still carrying a hint of panting.
Then, not far away, someone else was shouting to catch a thief, and yelling for him to stop.
Zhou Liming struggled to his feet. Two security police officers ran past him, constantly shouting for the fleeing thief ahead to stop. A moment later, a woman in her forties ran past Zhou Liming with a scent of perfume, shouting: “Catch the thief! My bag, give me back my bag…”
The voices gradually faded away. Zhou Liming struggled to stand up, snapped out of his daze, and then looked like an enraged beast.
Zhou Liming could not control himself. Since getting injured on Saturday, his emotions had been fluctuating wildly; he was easily irritable and prone to losing his reason. Inadvertent things could trigger him. Like an instinct, Zhou Liming started to run, sprinting in the direction the thief had just fled.
“Catch him, I must catch him…” It was like a flash of inspiration. “I can make up for my mistakes. Yes, as long as I catch the thief, no one will blame me, and I won’t be expelled from school!”
With this thought, Zhou Liming, under the influence of the boiling power that had not yet cooled down, unleashed his full strength. He was like a leopard, running at a speed far, far beyond the limit a human could achieve. And this power became even more violent as Zhou Liming’s intention grew stronger.
The two security police officers thought they were fast enough, but the thief was faster. However, a gust of wind blew past them, and a figure flashed past them like lightning, chasing after the thief.
“Ah… holy crap, a super… superman?”
The two of them opened their mouths wide at the same time, staring in shock at the student in the school uniform who left only a back view. The speed he displayed made the two think they had seen a superman. If not a superman, how could he run so fast? Just look at the dust kicked up from the street by his running, and the fallen leaves swirling in the air.
The thief, running wildly and occasionally looking back, had a smile on his face. Did these two idiot security police officers think they could catch him? They didn’t know that he had specially trained in escaping for this line of work. He wouldn’t brag too much, but in this area, someone who could catch him hadn’t been born yet. If he hadn’t been in too much of a hurry just now and bumped into a student, delaying a little time, he would have long since left the two security police officers in the dust.
But when he looked back again, he instantly felt his soul fly out of his body in fright. A fast… a figure fast as lightning ran past the police and was chasing after him.
“Oh my god, what the hell is that monster?”
The thief, who had been so smug just now, began to run with all his might. But Zhou Liming’s speed was too fast; in the blink of an eye, he was already in front of him.
“Stop!” Zhou Liming’s low roar rang out again, while he endured the pressure brought by this powerful force, a pressure that was out of control.
“Does he think I’m stupid? Stop just because he says stop?”
The thief did not listen at all. He gritted his teeth and turned into a nearby alley, hoping to use the dense crowd in this rarely busy alley in the city center to shake them off. Being familiar with this area, he was confident that once inside the alley, he could use the crowd and the complex shops to shake off the pursuers behind him.
Zhou Liming’s mouth twitched. His stimulated will made him roar: “You’re looking for death.”
Without any warning, all Zhou Liming thought about was punching him down to stop him from escaping.
However, the fist he swung out violently was covered in patches of scales in mid-air. Even more terrifying was a pitch-black sharp spike appearing on the back of his hand. Zhou Liming did not notice any of these changes at all; he only felt a faint stinging pain on the back of his hand, followed by a slight numbness. The fist, losing none of its momentum, had not yet touched the back of the thief’s head, but the spike had already silently pierced into his skull, like a chopstick stabbing into soft tofu, without any hindrance.
But it wasn’t over yet. After the spike pierced into the head, it let out a faint “hum.” An incalculable vibration frequency directly shattered his entire head to pieces.
To the pedestrians, it looked like Zhou Liming punched the thief in the back of the head, and then his entire head exploded. Brain matter mixed with flesh and blood splattered everywhere. The thief did not even have a chance to let out a grunt; he ran a few steps forward out of inertia, then fell flat on the ground, twitched a few times, and moved no more.
From the neck, where the head used to be, a shattered wound the size of a bowl kept spurting blood.
“Ah, ah…” Countless screams rang out at the entrance of the alley.
Blood and brain matter, still carrying a faint heat, splattered onto Zhou Liming’s face, but he was completely unaware. He opened his eyes wide and stared dead at the headless corpse in front of him. The pool of blood that was still spreading made him feel as if he had fallen into an ice cave. His whole body turned cold, and his heart kept sinking…
