Volume 3, Chapter 56 – The Black Light Flying Towards Sky Dome
Facing Yuan’er’s pleading eyes, Youlan let out a helpless sigh before informing the young girl of everything that had recently transpired within the Snownight Empire. Although she wasn’t sure if Yuan’er could grasp the political nuances, the child understood one thing clearly: her grandparents were in mortal danger.
Upon realizing this, Yuan’er became restless and agitated. The joy that had sprouted from her successful Elementalization vanished instantly, replaced by a heavy sense of trepidation. The plan to visit the hot springs was completely forgotten as only one thought occupied Yuan’er’s mind: she had to save her grandparents.
The mere thought of her grandparents facing execution made Yuan’er’s heart pound frantically. She had already lost her parents and her twin sister. Her grandfather and grandmother were her last remaining family, and she could not bear to lose them too!
Absolutely not!
Looking at the older sister she trusted deeply, Yuan’er spoke imploringly, “Sister Youlan! I know I promised that I wouldn’t leave until I fully controlled my power, but now… just for now, I’m sorry! Please let me go! I have to save Grandpa and Grandma!”
“…”
“I’m begging you, Sister Youlan!” Yuan’er pleaded once more.
Yuan’er wanted to go to Sky Dome to rescue Xiumu and his wife, but after spending the last few days together, she was well aware of Youlan’s strength. If the woman before her refused to let her leave, she would never be able to escape this barrier.
Listening to Yuan’er’s urgent words and meeting her anxious gaze, Youlan eventually nodded slightly after a moment of silence. “Go on. I won’t stop you.”
“Eh?! Re… really?”
“Yes. You wouldn’t be able to focus on your training now anyway. Go save your grandparents first.” As she spoke, Youlan slowly raised her hand and snapped her digits. A massive rift abruptly appeared at the top of the giant barrier encircling the mountain range.
“Sister Youlan…”
Seeing that Youlan had granted her request, a look of gratitude appeared on Yuan’er’s face. She gave Youlan a quick, emotional hug before pulling away and leaping into the air. Surrounded by the black Shadow Essence, she transformed into a streak of black light and surged out through the rift in the barrier!
In the blink of an eye, she vanished into the horizon.
‘This girl has mastered it quite well…’ Youlan couldn’t help but remark as she watched Yuan’er depart.
At that moment, a middle-aged man with gray hair wearing a blood-red robe stepped slowly out from the bushes behind her. With a wave of his hand, he dispelled the magic used to mask his presence and gazed toward the direction Yuan’er had gone with a bewildered expression.

“Tower Master, is it really wise to let her go like that? Even though she has reached the demon king tier, Sky Dome is currently filled with experts. As a newly ascended demon king tier, it’s unlikely she can rescue the Marquis and his wife… Tower Master? Should you consider going with her?” The man cautiously offered his suggestion.
Hearing this, Youlan shook her head. “It’s fine. There is someone in Sky Dome who will protect that child. As for me going along?”
At this point, Youlan let out a bitter smile and gazed thoughtfully at her palm. “Since she is in Sky Dome, it is better if I don’t go. Sigh… enough of that. Just keep an eye on the situation in Sky Dome and notify me if there is an emergency.”
“Understood, Tower Master.”
“Good. You may leave…”
“Yes.”
The gray-haired man bowed respectfully and retreated into the forest, soon vanishing without a trace amidst a swirl of black mist.
After her subordinate left, Youlan’s gaze slowly shifted to the communication magic stone nearby, which was emitting a faint blue glow. Now that Yuan’er was gone, the warmth on Youlan’s face disappeared, replaced by her usual sickly coldness. A chilling aura surfaced in her deep blue eyes.
“Aphiro,” Youlan called out softly.
Hearing Youlan’s frigid tone, the person on the other end of the communication magic stone trembled violently and spoke with extreme unease. “T-Tower Master…”
“Aphiro, I believe I told you that you must wait for my approval before reporting matters, rather than mindlessly speaking the moment the connection is established.”
“I’m sorry… I’m sorry, Tower Master! It was my oversight! I was too anxious and failed to notice…”
“I don’t want to hear excuses.”
“Yes…”
“There is a limit of three chances, and this is your second offense. If there is a third, you know the consequences.”

The man communicating with Youlan from the other side spoke with a clear tremor and profound dread. Even from thousands of miles away, he seemed to feel Youlan’s extreme displeasure. “Yes! This subordinate understands! I… I will never do it again!”
“I hope so. Is there anything else to report?”
“No… not for now.”
“Then that is all for today.”
Without waiting for the man’s further explanations, a faint blue light flashed in Youlan’s eyes. The glowing communication magic stone was instantly corroded into a puddle of strange white liquid, cutting off Aphiro’s words mid-sentence.
Afterward, Youlan slowly stood up and looked thoughtfully toward the east, in the direction of the Snownight Empire’s capital.
‘Are they… going to move against the Chosen Son again?’
‘Sigh. This won’t solve the fundamental problem…’
…
‘Wait?’
Suddenly, Youlan’s brow furrowed as she realized a very serious issue.
‘Does that girl even know where Sky Dome is? She just rushed off without asking anything?’
‘Sigh, how impulsive…’

Meanwhile, in the commercial street of Sky Dome City’s eastern district, the scene was exceptionally lively. As the city’s most prosperous commercial area, it was always crowded, but with the arrival of various national and faction delegations, the bustling atmosphere had reached a new peak.
As several figures wearing coats emblazoned with the Blackrose Emblem entered the scene, the tension in the street reached its zenith. Almost everyone’s attention was focused on these individuals in black, or more accurately, on the stunning black-haired girl surrounded by them.
The girl had a slender figure and enviable, silk-like black hair that transitioned into a blood-red hue at the tips. Although she wore a veil, her revealed phoenix-like brows and bright eyes were breathtakingly beautiful. The girl’s brilliant sapphire pupils seemed to possess a soul-stirring magic, making people forget to breathe the moment they looked into them.
With such beautiful eyes and the protection of the Blackrose Knight Order, many quickly guessed her identity despite the veil. She was the famous eldest miss of the Blackrose Family. Realizing this, many people attempted to step forward to strike up a conversation, hoping to befriend a beauty or connect with the Blackrose Family.
Unfortunately, their attempts all ended in failure. When these people approached, the “amiable-looking” and burly knights guarding the girl would reveal “friendly” smiles. These smiles were so “charming” that many people froze on the spot and abandoned their plans to approach.
However, even without direct contact, the constant influx of emissaries and reporters, combined with the surrounding noise, gave Miss Yu a headache. She couldn’t help but raise her hand to her forehead. Having grown accustomed to the quiet environment of the Deepwinter Forest, Miss Yu found it difficult to tolerate the sea of people and the rowdy market. Compared to the capital, the scenes she had witnessed in Windward City were truly insignificant.
For a moment, Miss Yu regretted coming here.
Yet, what frustrated Miss Yu the most wasn’t the crowd, but the rambling old butler beside her.
“Miss Yu, as a noble lady, you cannot eat on the street. It’s not elegant!”
“Miss, drinking is also not allowed unless you cover your mouth! Otherwise, it’s not elegant!”
“Miss Yu, you are walking too fast. It’s against etiquette! It’s not elegant!”
“Miss Yu, for the sake of elegance, you must hold your umbrella. Otherwise, it’s not elegant!”
…
Listening to Saibok’s nagging, Yumo’s face gradually clouded over. Seeing that Saibok was about to criticize her for taking off her coat, Miss Yu glared at him fiercely without a word.
“If you mention ‘elegance’ in front of me one more time, I’ll make your butt blossom! Not only that, after it blossoms, Li Mo will handle your daily care and Li Yu will handle all your meals!”

Upon hearing this, the words Saibok was about to say were forced back down his throat.
“Do you have anything else to say?”
“No, nothing more, Miss Yu…” Saibok swallowed hard and shook his head frantically.
Protecting his life was more important than satisfying his obsessive-compulsive disorder. If his old bones took a beating from a feather duster and were then subjected to the “care” of those two little ancestors, Li Mo and Li Yu, he wouldn’t just be injured, he’d be halfway in the grave.
“It’s nothing. I just wanted to say, Miss Yu, since you don’t like staying here, let’s leave first. There’s a small path here that seems to lead to the Mages Association. Shall we go there for a look?”
“Oh? The Mages Association? The organization under the Holy Tower?” Miss Yu showed a slight bit of interest upon hearing the name. “Fine, let’s go check it out.”
“Very well, Miss Yu. Please follow me.”
Saibok led Yumo and the Blackrose knights into the side alley, the old butler’s lips curling upward imperceptibly. Outside the alley, many people tried to follow, still unwilling to give up the chance to curry favor with the Blackrose Family, but these “enthusiasts” were quickly deterred by the “friendly” gazes of the Blackrose knights.
Without the public’s stares and Saibok’s nagging, Miss Yu took off her veil with a sigh of relief. As she walked, she snacked on a sweet treat she had bought earlier that resembled candied haws.
Everything seemed quite peaceful.
However, after walking a few more steps, a sudden cry for help caught Miss Yu’s attention and made the black-haired girl’s brows arch.
“Help… help… help me!!”
‘Hmm? A child’s voice?’
‘And… the scent of blood.’
