A Blind Cat

Jude guided the Koenigsegg off the elevated highway, descending into the streets of the city's historic meatpacking district.

He navigated the hypercar through a series of narrow alleyways before finally cutting the engine inside a seemingly abandoned warehouse lot.

Jude led her to the back of the warehouse, descending a flight of stairs that terminated at a door. There were no handles, only a scanning panel.

Instead of presenting his fingerprint, Jude tapped his knuckles against the steel in a specific sequence.

Three seconds later, the deadbolts disengaged.

The door swung inward, revealing a tattooed man wearing a white chef's coat.

"Mr. Lawson. You didn't mention you were dropping in tonight," the man said, his voice carrying the raspy edge of someone who spent too much time hovering over open flames.
