Chapter 3: I Am the Divine Spirit
Chapter 3: I Am the Divine Spirit
"I still have some matters to attend to. I'll leave the tribe's affairs in your hands for now."
After finalizing the tribe's general development path, Su Xingyu left the elders staring at each other in dismay and went into seclusion alone.
The senior members of the Night Tribe were already accustomed to this. Their Clan Leader would disappear for a while from time to time, only to return with the Eternal Night Monarch's blessings, making the tribe even stronger.
As the Night Tribe's population grew, so did the number of matters needing attention. The Clan Leader's absence only added to their burden. Unless something unexpected happened, most of the higher-ups would be working overtime for the foreseeable future.
Fortunately, Su Xingyu had already laid out the general development plan. They only needed to follow it step by step; otherwise, it would have been truly agonizing.
After discussing and dividing the tasks among themselves for a while, they returned to their respective homes to handle their duties.
Su Xingyu arrived at the center of the tribe, standing before the Divine Hall, which had been built using a massive amount of resources.
As the Night Tribe's landmark building, the security here was incredibly strict, with guards stationed at all times. Two squads of Warriors clad in pitch-black Armor guarded the entrance of the Divine Hall. They were the Night Tribe's most Elite braves, with every Warrior possessing at least Tier Two strength.
"Clan Leader." The captain of the guards stepped forward and greeted him respectfully.
Su Xingyu nodded and walked into the Divine Hall. "I am going to pray to the Monarch," he said as he walked. "Keep a close watch on this place. Do not let anyone disturb me."
"Understood, Clan Leader." The captain nodded respectfully. He immediately dispatched the surrounding guards to patrol the Divine Hall and lock down the perimeter, preventing any unauthorized personnel from approaching.
Su Xingyu pushed open the doors of the Divine Hall, walked straight inside, and arrived at the very depths of the sanctuary.
At the center of the hall was a fountain pool. Behind the pool stood a Divine Statue over ten feet tall. The statue was pitch-black throughout, possessing a tall and burly figure. Its facial features were indistinguishable, while its left hand raised a shield and its right hand held a Long Saber.
This was the Dark Divine Spirit worshipped by the Night Tribe—the Eternal Night Monarch.
Su Xingyu stepped up to the statue, leaned against it, sat down, and slowly closed his eyes.
Within a Mysterious Space as black as ink.
It felt like being at the Bottom of the Abyss, entirely devoid of light. At the center of the space, he... no, *He* slowly opened His eyes. A trace of exhaustion lingered in His pitch-black gaze; it was evident that He was quite tired.
"Damn, it's finally over." Returning to his own lair, Su Xingyu felt a heavy burden lift from his shoulders and let out a long sigh of relief.
Indeed, Su Xingyu was playing two roles simultaneously. He was the Clan Leader of the Night Tribe, and he was also the Divine Spirit the Night Tribe worshipped.
Su Xingyu was not a native of this world.
About two and a half years ago, an unforeseen upheaval had swept across his entire home planet. A great entity had brought the entire Human Race to this space and generously bestowed upon each of them a precious Divine Format, allowing them to ascend and become a God in a single step.
Of course, the title of "God" was heavily watered down at the moment.
They had not comprehended any Law, ignited their Divine Fire, or even condensed a Divine Body. Calling such a Divine Spirit a false God would be a compliment.
When He first entered this world, an entity known as the "System" had given Him a tribe—one with only a few hundred people. On top of that, it had assigned Him a quest: unify the surrounding factions.
The quest didn't sound simple, and once it actually began, Su Xingyu just wanted to curse. It simply wasn't a task a human could accomplish.
There were over a hundred tribes scattered across the upper and lower reaches of the Red River. The weaker ones, like the Night Tribe, only had a few hundred people, while the stronger ones boasted tens of thousands. Every single one of them was overflowing with martial prowess. Coupled with the baptism of the grasslands' blizzards, Su Xingyu had narrowly avoided being beaten to death.
Fortunately, the System's rewards were distributed in stages. Many of these rewards were ancient "black technologies," such as the Iron Refining Furnace and forging furnaces. Furthermore, in the later stages, his growing number of Believers caused Su Xingyu's Divine Power to increase significantly, allowing him to barely grant blessings to his followers.
After two and a half years of war, Su Xingyu led the Night Tribe to successfully conquer the Red River, and the Night Tribe expanded to its current scale. Hundreds of thousands of tribesmen and tens of thousands of soldiers—the numbers alone were quite intimidating.
"After busting my ass for so many days, I can finally get a good rest."
For the past few days, Su Xingyu had been overwhelmed with various tribal affairs. He hadn't even had the time to take a close look at the System's rewards or his own interface.

Only he could see this interface. It looked somewhat like a game menu. In fact, in the beginning, Su Xingyu had also thought this was a game world and that he was just some unlucky bastard who had accidentally entered a virtual reality.
However, the scalding hot blood splashing on his face and the agonizing pain of a Long Saber slicing open his chest told him that this was no game.
Here, dying meant actually dying. There was no such thing as Resurrection.
Yet, after confirming this fact, Su Xingyu didn't feel afraid. Instead, he felt a bit excited. Since this was a real world, it proved that becoming a God was also real. No one could resist the temptation of eternal life, and Su Xingyu was no exception.
Back in the real world, he had been just an ordinary person. Even though he never had to worry about food or drink, he ultimately found life to be somewhat dull.
But this world now? How should he put it...
It was very interesting!
In this world, there were no clear-cut rules; strength was everything. Here, he didn't need to overthink things. He only needed to focus on increasing his strength. Su Xingyu really liked this kind of world, even if it meant he might die here.
Pulling his thoughts back, Su Xingyu cast his gaze at the few newly added interfaces at the very bottom.
[City of Gods] [Information] [Plane]
[City of Gods]: An absolutely safe haven where Divine Spirits can trade and reside permanently. (Note: Traveling to the City of Gods costs 10 units of Divine Source each time, and staying for each additional day requires paying 10 units of Divine Source.)
Looking at the [City of Gods], Su Xingyu silently willed himself to travel there.
A portal glowing with white light abruptly appeared before Him. Su Xingyu stepped forward and walked inside.
