Chapter 25.1

Pei Yan’s palm was very large, and it took control of hers easily.

He lifted a corner of the quilt, sat up slowly, and fixed his black eyes on Tao Ti. Still sound asleep, her face was like a Confederate rose—red lips, black hair scattered about like clouds, a few strands of which were on her delicate cheeks, adding a touch of charm.

Perhaps feeling the restraint in her hands, she frowned with some dissatisfaction and seemed to be muttering something vague.

What was she dreaming about, to be so active in the middle of the night?

Pei Yan’s gaze suddenly turned cold. His coarse fingertips brushed unhurriedly across her fair cheeks, sweet red lips, smooth and dainty chin… then finally landed on her slender and fragile neck.

“You must behave yourself,” he warned in a low voice. There was a flame in his black eyes, revealing a touch of suppressed danger.

“Don’t go where you’re not supposed to… Otherwise, I’ll find a cage and lock you up, mhm?”

His fingertips were cold, but his heart surged with waves of intense heat.

Tao Ti seemed to be dreaming about something different now, and her two little hands stopped moving about.

Pei Yan sat quietly for a long time before finally managing to suppress his thoughts. His gaze was clear and sober as he pinched her soft cheeks. “Sleep well. Move about again and I won’t spare you.”

He lay back down, but unexpectedly, just shortly after closing his eyes, that soft body wrapped against his again.

He stiffened.

The maiden’s sweet fragrance filled his nose again. Enduring hard, Pei Yan decided that if she groped him again, he would simply go with the flow and no longer hold back.

He half closed his eyes and waited, but the little maiden did not grope about anymore. She only hugged his body, as if she had found some kind of treasure. The little face rubbed against his arm and even seemed to let out a giggle, and seemed silly as can be.

Pei Yan lowered his eyes slightly to look at the little head snuggled in his arms, then at the arm that was across his chest, and was suddenly at a loss for what to do.

In the end, he didn’t push her away. Instead, he let her continue to hug him, then fell into a deep sleep along with her.

The next day, early in the morning.

When Tao Ti opened her eyes dazedly, what came to view was a handsome face that was just inches away. Clear and gentle light shone through the red bedcurtains, blanketing the man’s picturesque face.

He had a defined nose, and his thin lips were slightly pursed, looking like a sleeping beauty carved from jade.

It should be a pleasant thing to see a beautiful man as soon as you open your eyes, but——

Why was most of her body in his arms?!

Could it be that she… was overtaken by her bestial instincts last night and took advantage of him?

Tao Ti held her breath reflexively. Gently, she lifted a corner of the quilt, and quietly moved her gaze downwards.

Pei Yan was lying flat on his back. His nightclothes was somewhat messy, and through the open collar, one could see his cold and pale skin, and even catch a vague sight of his pectoral muscles.

Unexpectedly, for a sickly person, his figure was pretty good. Although only a small part could be seen, it was enough to show the bigger picture. If he had pecs, that means he should also have abs, right?

Tao Ti quickly put her messy thoughts away and looked down at herself. Thank goodness, she was still wearing her nightclothes.

She secretly breathed a sigh of relief. Seeing that Pei Yan was still asleep, she quickly moved her body inwards to distance herself from him.

It was a good thing that she was the first to wake up. Otherwise, if it were Pei Yan who had woken up first, it would be really awkward if he saw this scene.

In her relief, she didn’t notice that the eyelashes of the man next to her twitched lightly.

Tao Ti couldn’t fall back to sleep anymore. The thought that she was hugging a man as she slept all night made her both ashamed and embarrassed. She only wanted to quickly leave this tiny space within the bedcurtains and go out to get some air to calm down.

At this thought, she lifted the quilt carefully and quietly, and slowly crawled outwards.

In order not to disturb Pei Yan, who was sleeping on the outside, she carefully supported herself with both hands, first reaching one arm over, then a leg, sending half of her body across.

Just when she was about to cross her other leg over, the man who was sleeping quietly suddenly raised his hand and turned over to his side. That hand just happened to hook her slender waist, bringing her back to the bed in an instant.

This unexpected action startled Tao Ti, who almost cried out loud.

The man’s arm was long and strong, and they draped heavily on her waist. He had a tall figure, and in this suggestive position, he seemed to be encircling her entire body in his arms.
