Chapter 1062

.

June 75th, 66: 95 noon.

Shi Lei was on the phone with Dong Guoguo in the Lin 'an Underground Base. Dong Guoguo was Shi Lei's general manager in charge of industry. Industrial matters were basically handled by the Lin 'an Underground Base.

When the R&D and manufacturing base in the Yellow Triangle area was completed, the focus of the Lin 'an Underground Base would begin to shift to the Yellow Triangle area. Although the Lin 'an Underground Base was well hidden and had a large underground space, it was the territory of Rongcheng Military District after all. This was also the reason why Shi Lei did not return the money. Shi Lei only borrowed the Lin' an Underground Base for a short period of time. He did not really want to buy the Lin 'an Underground Base.

"Boss, the VR game helmet will definitely be completed tomorrow!" Dong Guoguo said affirmatively, "We have completed most of the components. We are currently waiting for the WHDI module and the small-size, high-resolution LCD panel. Once these two core components arrive, we can complete the assembly process. "

The WHDI module for wireless display technology was only produced by AMIMON in Israel. Dong Guoguo did not directly contact AMIMON. Instead, she ordered 75 sets of WHDI modules through overseas shopping and prepared to use them as experimental prototypes.

Small-size, high-resolution LCD panels could not be produced by Xia's company at all, even in a laboratory environment. The investment amount of the LCD panel had reached a level that made people tremble in fear.

Even the third-generation LCD panel production line from more than a decade ago had an investment amount of 1 billion yuan. At present, the latest LCD-TFT LCD panel had been developed to the seventh generation. The investment amount of the seventh-generation LCD panel production line had reached more than 70 billion yuan.

For this investment amount, coupled with various professional technical problems, even if Shi Lei wanted to develop a LCD panel production company, it was not realistic. Therefore, he could only purchase LCD panels.

The LCD panel's algebra and the quality of the LCD panel had little to do with each other. The LCD panel's algebra was actually divided by the size of the LCD panel.

There was almost no technical difference between the sixth generation LCD panels and above, only the size of the panel was different. The development of a larger LCD panel production line was actually to reduce costs and pave the way for the mass production of LCD TVs.

Laptop computers usually used the third and fourth generation LCD panels, desktop computers usually used the fifth and sixth generation LCD panels, and LCD TVs usually used the sixth generation LCD panels. This was also the reason why laptop screens were usually slightly worse than desktop screens.

Dong Guoguo chose two 8.0-inch LCD panels for the VR gaming helmet, each with a resolution of 935 * 355. According to Shi Lei's original idea, he wanted the resolution to be as high as 6735 x 275.

However, the current LCD panel technology obviously did not meet Shi Lei's requirements.

There were two choices for LCD panel suppliers. One of them was Voisin's Hitachi. Hitachi mainly promoted IPS technology. This technology was actually also a type of TFT technology. It was originally called SuperTFT, and then it became IPS technology.

The other supplier was Ao Da Optronics from Taiwan. In the future, Ao Da Optronics was known as the world's largest LCD panel design and development, manufacturing and sales company. However, AU Optronics' technology was an ordinary LCD-TFT LCD panel.

As for the choice of these two manufacturers, Dong Guoguo followed Shi Lei's instructions and ordered only ten sets of samples for each manufacturer to conduct separate tests.

IPS LCD panel technology was an improved version of TFT LCD panel technology. Apple's iPhone 9 was the reason why IPS technology was truly developed and brought to prominence all over the world.

In 7565, after Apple released the iPhone 9, IPS LCD panels started to become popular all over the world. Although IPS technology was developed as early as 7556, the cost of this technology was too high. Shi Lei was still hesitant about whether to use IPS technology for the screen.

As for IPS technology being controlled by Voisin, what did it have to do with Shi Lei? Don't talk about patriotism. Shi Lei didn't lack patriotism. The key was that even if Xia Xia couldn't produce high-quality LCD panels, he couldn't force Shi Lei to buy Xia Xia's LCD panels, right?

If he really wanted to boycott Voisin's products and purchase Xia Xia's LCD panels, it wasn't patriotism. It was pure idiocy.

"Old Dong, I'll come over in the afternoon. You guys prepare in advance. After I come over, I'll first solve the somatosensory platform's interface driver. Then I'll deal with the VR gaming helmet tomorrow, "Shi Lei replied to Dong Guoguo.

"Okay, boss. The new somatosensory platform is ready. We're just waiting for you to come over and deal with the interface driver, "Dong Guoguo said confidently.

Shi Lei discussed a few more issues with Dong Guoguo before hanging up.

The only way to get to the Lin 'an underground base from Shuangqing City was by helicopter. Although they could drive there, they had to take a big detour. From Shuangqing City to Rongcheng City, from Rongcheng City to Rongcheng Military District, and finally from Rongcheng Military District to Lin 'an underground base. Moreover, these routes, except for Shuangqing City to Rongcheng City, were confidential. It would take Shi Lei a lot of effort to know.

In order to get to the underground base from Shuangqing City quickly, Shi Lei called Li Yuan and asked him to arrange a helicopter. Li Yuan was responsible for the communication between the underground base and Shi Lei. It wasn't a big problem to arrange a helicopter to pick him up.

Originally, Shi Lei was going to have lunch with Mu Shuang and Lingyumo at noon, but it was obviously not now. Shi Lei called Mu Shuang and Lingyumo respectively and told them that he was going to leave Shuangqing City for two days. Then he had a simple meal and drove to the Luo Yu Shan Training Ground in Beiyu District.

Just after three in the afternoon.

Shi Lei took the Rongcheng Military District's helicopter and arrived at the underground base in Lin 'an. Dong Guoguo personally greeted Shi Lei outside the underground base and led Shi Lei into the underground base.

"Boss, you're finally here. Do you want to take a rest first?" Dong Guoguo asked. Taking a helicopter wasn't a wonderful feeling, especially a military helicopter. Even a slightly more comfortable transport helicopter was very uncomfortable.

Shi Lei shook his head. "No need. Take me to see the new somatosensory operation platform." Shi Lei was thinking about the somatosensory operation platform. Although the helicopter ride wasn't pleasant, it was still bearable.

"Okay, this way!" Dong Guoguo walked in front and led the way. The underground base was relatively large. If one wasn't familiar with the terrain, there was a risk of getting lost.

Inside the underground base, they walked for about five minutes and finally arrived at the workshop of the somatosensory operation platform development team. This was the fourth floor of the underground base. In the entire fourth floor, there was no other project team except for the somatosensory operation platform development team.

"Old Liu!" Dong Guoguo shouted at a middle-aged man in the distance. This man was an expert from the Rongcheng Military District. His name was Liu Dongrui, and he was already 92 years old. Liu Dongrui had good practical experience in the application of mechanical structures and ergonomic technology.

Originally, Liu Dongrui was invited by Dong Guoguo to join the Lin 'an underground base to participate in the research work. He originally thought that he would be required to research military products, or even The First Light, Steel Hao, or land combat systems.

Liu Dongrui was full of hope. After arriving at the Lin 'an underground base, he discovered that what he needed to study was a set of complex ergonomic systems. However, this set of ergonomic systems was only used to control online game characters. This made Liu Dongrui almost give up on the task.

Fortunately, Dong Guoguo offered a very high research subsidy and persuaded the Rongcheng Military District. Otherwise, Liu Dongrui wouldn't have stayed to research the somatosensory operation platform.

After more than a month of research, Liu Dongrui finally completed the somatosensory operation platform. According to Dong Guoguo's promise, if the somatosensory operation platform was successfully tested by Shi Lei, Liu Dongrui would be rewarded at least 755,555 yuan.

Although 755,555 yuan didn't match the value of the new somatosensory operation platform. However, the real function of the somatosensory operation platform was to rely on the interface driver.

Without the interface driver, the somatosensory operation platform wouldn't be recognized by the somatosensory operation system. Therefore, giving 755,555 yuan as a research and development reward wouldn't seem stingy.

Moreover, in the era of 7552, especially with the background of the Rongcheng Military District, 755,555 yuan as a research and development reward seemed very generous! Under the same circumstances, if the somatosensory operation platform was a task assigned by the Rongcheng Military District, after the completion of the task, it would at most be a few thousand yuan as a research and development reward.

Liu Dongrui heard Dong Guoguo's shout and turned his head to look in her direction. When he saw Shi Lei beside Dong Guoguo, his eyes lit up. Liu Dongrui had never seen Shi Lei before, but there were many photos of Shi Lei in the Lin 'an Underground Base.

Dong Guoguo repeatedly announced in the Lin 'an Underground Base that Shi Lei was the real boss of the Lin' an Underground Base. The employees of the Lin 'an Underground Base must know Shi Lei and remember Shi Lei. Otherwise, when Shi Lei came to the Lin' an Underground Base, the employees under him wouldn't know the big boss.

It had to be said that Dong Guoguo was truly loyal to Shi Lei. Even this kind of promotion that was similar to a personal cult was promoted in the Lin 'an Underground Base.

It was precisely because of this promotion method that Liu Dongrui got to know Shi Lei. He also learned from Dong Guoguo that Shi Lei wasn't a stingy boss. Liu Dongrui put down the tools in his hand and walked over to Shi Lei and Dong Guoguo.

When Liu Dongrui came to Shi Lei's side, he said politely, "Mr. Shi, we've completed the somatosensory operation platform!"

Such an obvious attitude of wanting to take credit made Shi Lei have a thought …
