Chapter 356: Thirty-Fifth Day in the Entertainment World (End)
An Yi's eyes met Yu Ziyun's from across the distance.
Even across the distance and through the shifting lights, he could clearly see the barely contained, unreserved infatuation and love in Yu Ziyun's eyes.
That gaze was so scorching, so focused, as if it wanted to carve his image into the depths of his soul.
But then... the way he must look right now...
A ripple of delight rose from deep within An Yi, and he couldn't help but tilt his head and let out a soft laugh, which triggered another round of screams.
So, in the brief lull between the prelude of the next song slowly beginning and the crowd's cheering momentarily subsiding, he stood at the very edge of the T-stage, with the spotlight wrapping him in a halo of soft, almost sacred light.
He tilted his head slightly toward Yu Ziyun's direction below the stage and flashed a bright smile.
That smile brought a lively warmth to his eyes and brows, like spring water suddenly coming alive.
Then, under the gaze of countless eyes and cameras, with the music flowing softly in the background, An Yi raised his hand, touched his fingertips to his lips, and then flipped his wrist toward Yu Ziyun's direction—a playful, intimate flying kiss.
Time seemed to stretch and slow down in that moment.
On stage, the lights seemed to all converge on the person who had just blown the kiss. He tilted his head slightly, his smile innocent yet mischievous, his eyes reflecting the starry lights and one single person.
Below the stage, Yu Ziyun's pupils contracted sharply, and he stopped breathing.
He clearly saw the path of that flying kiss, as if it carried warmth, cutting through the noisy crowd and shifting lights to land right on his heart.
He jumped up abruptly, completely forgetting where he was.
He instinctively raised his hand, as if trying to catch that invisible kiss, his fingertips trembling.
Then came the deafening, roof-lifting screams!
"Ahhhhhh—!!!!!!"
Every audience member, whether a "Light Chaser" or just someone there for the show, was completely set off by this sudden, sweet surprise!
Cameras frantically searched for and locked onto Yu Ziyun, and when his handsome face, full of excitement and a goofy grin, appeared on the big screen, the screams hit their peak!
Screams, whistles, and excited chatter swept through the venue like a tidal wave, momentarily drowning out even the music.
But An Yi seemed not to hear the deafening noise. His gaze stayed fixed on Yu Ziyun, watching him snap out of his shock, watching a bigger and bigger, almost goofy, radiant smile spread across his face, and watching him shout something across the sea of people.
It was: "I love you."
The smile at the corners of An Yi's lips deepened. Of course he knew.
He turned around gently, and as the music prelude became clear again, he brought the microphone back to his lips.
Those eyes, which had just been full of mischief and tenderness, settled back into the focused, devoted look of a performer as he turned toward the center of the stage.
Miao Bin stood at the side of the stage, a wry smile on his face.
There was absolutely no chance for him now.
The concert finally came to a gentle close with An Yi's ethereal, haunting encore song.
As the last notes faded into the air and the house lights gradually came up, An Yi stood at the center of the stage, bowing deeply in every direction to thank the audience.
Yu Ziyun's ears were still ringing with An Yi's final song and the thunderous cheers.
His heart was still full of a swelling happiness, and his steps felt almost unrealistically light.
He knew An Yi was backstage right now, maybe doing a quick interview, or maybe taking off his makeup and changing.
And just like every time before, he would go wait for him and take him home.
Outside the stadium, the night was deep and the stars were scattered across the sky.
The excitement had died down, and the city had returned to its usual rhythm.
The stars never fail those who walk through the night, and they also light the way home.
The corners of Yu Ziyun's lips couldn't help but curl upward as he walked against the flow of the exiting crowd, hurrying toward the special backstage entrance.
When Yu Ziyun pushed open the door to the backstage dressing room, An Yi was sitting there.
He had changed out of his stage clothes into a loose light-gray hoodie and black casual pants, leaning against the vanity table with his back to Yu Ziyun.
Changing clothes had mussed his soft black hair, exposing the pale nape of his neck.
Hearing the footsteps, An Yi didn't turn around.
The makeup artist, who had just finished taking off An Yi's makeup, glanced at Yu Ziyun as he came in, smiled, and carried her things out.
Yu Ziyun walked over and gently wrapped his arms around An Yi's waist from behind, resting his chin on his shoulder.
"Tired?" Yu Ziyun asked softly, his voice full of unconcealed concern.
"Not really." An Yi tilted his head slightly, rubbing his cheek against Yu Ziyun's hair. "Everyone was really enthusiastic."
Yu Ziyun chuckled softly and tightened his arms a little. "That's because you're so lovable." After a pause, he added, "But that flying kiss was pretty flashy, babe."
He'd used that term of endearment a few times in private, and every time it made An Yi's expression shift just a little.
This time, An Yi let out a soft "tsk" but didn't argue.
He just raised his hand and patted the back of Yu Ziyun's hand around his waist. "Mr. Yu, the way you jumped up in the audience was pretty flashy too."
"Can't help it, I was too happy and too excited!" Yu Ziyun said with complete justification, turning his head to press a kiss to An Yi's earlobe.
"Mhm." An Yi relaxed into his embrace. "Understandable. After all, you're way too into me."
Yu Ziyun: "Yeah, I love you."
An Yi laughed out loud and turned his head to peck him on the lips.
Yu Ziyun's heart felt like it had been hit hard by something soft and scorching hot.
He took An Yi's hand, held it in his palm, and pressed his forehead against An Yi's, their breath mingling.
Yu Ziyun pressed his forehead against An Yi's and chuckled softly. "So, Teacher An, what's the plan next? Keep touring? Write new songs? Or..."
He paused deliberately. "How about letting me make the title 'Mrs. An' official?"
An Yi raised an eyebrow. "Lawyer Yu, is this a marriage proposal?"
"It's a reservation," Yu Ziyun said, completely unapologetic. "After all, someone just finished an 80,000-person concert and was caught blowing kisses in public. I think I can get away with being a little more extra to mark my territory."
An Yi chuckled, reaching up to pinch his cheek. "We'll see about that."
"I'll perform well." Yu Ziyun took his hand and pressed a gentle kiss to his fingertips. "For a lifetime."
Just then, An Yi's phone rang.
He glanced at it—it was a message from Ruan Bingxuan, congratulating him on the successful concert. She also attached a photo of herself filming a night scene on set—the actress, dressed in ancient costume, flashed a thumbs-up at the camera, her eyes sparkling.
An Yi replied, "Can't wait for your new drama to air!"
