Chapter 508: The Thirty-Sixth Day of Transmigrating into an Alien War Novel

An Yi did not answer immediately.

He lay down, threw back the covers, scooted over, and left half the bed open.

Then he reached out and patted the spot beside him.

An Cheng's eyes lit up instantly.

An Cheng immediately wanted to lie down, but just as he was about to touch the bed, he stopped.

He touched his still-damp hair, frowning: "Wait, my hair isn't dry yet..."

"I'll go dry it first!" he said, turning to head to the bathroom: "Quick! Three minutes!"

He hurried, as if scared An Yi would change his mind.

But An Yi stopped him: "No need."

Then he raised his hand and casually waved in An Cheng's direction.

The next second, An Cheng found the moisture vanishing from his hair.

The water droplets were pulled away by some force, gathering above his head into a clear sphere of water, floating in midair, then vanishing with a soft "pop."

The whole thing took less than two seconds.

An Cheng's eyes widened. He stared at An Yi, dumbfounded, then raised his hand to touch his hair—it was totally dry.

He opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but his throat felt tight, and no sound came out.

He'd long suspected An Yi was special, but he hadn't expected An Yi to... show off this kind of ability so openly in front of him.

No hiding it, no dodging it.

An Cheng stood there, looking at An Yi, a complicated warmth swelling in his chest.

Did he trust him more now?

Did he like him more now?

Was it... that he finally saw him as someone he could share secrets with, his most intimate person?

These thoughts swirled in his head, making his heart beat faster, making his blood heat up.

Then he smiled, but his eyes gleamed with something almost feverish.

He hurried back to the bed, lay down, turned on his side, and wrapped his arms around An Yi.

His arms circled An Yi's waist, pulling him fully into his embrace.

His chin rested on An Yi's shoulder, his nose pressed into the crook of An Yi's neck, and he took a deep breath.

"Xiao Yi..." he said, his voice muffled, barely holding back his excitement.

An Yi reached back and put his hand on An Cheng's wrist, his fingertips tracing the inside of An Cheng's wrist—where his pulse beat.

"Mm," he said softly, "Go to sleep."

Then he closed his eyes.

An Cheng didn't fall asleep right away.

He held An Yi, feeling the warmth of the body against him, feeling An Yi's steady breathing, feeling the almost unreal happiness of the moment.

An Yi... *his* An Yi.

After the National Day holiday was over, the two returned to school.

----------

Life didn't seem to have changed much, but somehow everything felt different.

An Cheng was An Yi's official... boyfriend.

At 7:30 in the morning, An Yi had just gotten dressed when he heard Chen Heguang yell from the balcony: "An Yi! Your brother's here again!"

His voice was loud, full of excitement and teasing.

Once they got over the shock, they got excited.

They never thought they'd see a forbidden romance like this right in front of them!

An Yi walked to the balcony and looked down.

Under the sycamore tree, An Cheng was indeed standing there.

Hearing Chen Heguang's voice, An Cheng looked up, waved back, then pointed to the bag in his hand.

"Looks like soup dumplings," Shi Luo said, coming over to take a look. He pushed up his glasses and said matter-of-factly: "An Yi said he likes those. He probably made them himself again."

Zhang Yuankai sighed enviously: "Ugh, I want a sweet one like that too... a 'big bro'~"

When he said "brother," his tone was loaded, and he dragged out the last syllable on purpose, clearly teasing.

An Yi ignored them, went back inside, grabbed his bag, and headed downstairs.

When he got to An Cheng, An Cheng naturally reached out and took his hand.

Their fingers laced together.

"It's colder today, why didn't you dress warmer?" An Cheng asked, frowning slightly as he reached up to fix An Yi's collar.

"Not cold," An Yi said, taking the paper bag and opening it to check—sure enough, soup dumplings, still steaming and smelling amazing.

"Did you eat?" he asked. Thin skin, lots of filling—just how An Yi liked them.

"Of course I wanted to eat with you," An Cheng said.

The two walked side by side, hand in hand.

Halfway there, An Cheng spoke up: "Xiao Yi, I wanna ask you something."

"What?" An Yi turned his head to look at him.

An Cheng stopped, turned to face An Yi, his gaze serious: "Would you be willing to move in with me?"

An Yi thought for a second, then nodded: "Okay."

An Cheng stared at An Yi, stunned, like he hadn't heard right: "R-really?"

"Really." An Yi smiled. "But I need to tell my roommates and report to the school first—although off-campus housing is allowed, I still need to go through the proper procedures."

"Great! Great!" An Cheng nodded repeatedly, his smile growing wider. "I'll help you move your things!"

An Yi looked at him, amused. "What else?"

"Yeah, what else?" An Cheng laughed too.

As he spoke, he tightened his grip on An Yi's hand.

----------

Moving in with An Cheng went smoothly.

An Yi's roommates were a bit reluctant. Chen Heguang hung onto the doorframe, pretending to look upset: "An Yi, once you're gone, our dorm won't have the best average looks in school anymore! You have to take responsibility for this!"

An Yi chuckled and patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, we'll still rank at the top."

Zhang Yuankai touched his own face and thought seriously for a moment. "That's true. With this face, I can carry half the team's looks."

Shi Luo, meanwhile, watched An Yi and An Cheng pack their things, adjusted his glasses, and said calmly, "Catch you in class."

Since they were in the same major and class, they'd see each other often in lectures.

An Yi nodded and smiled at him. "See you."

An Cheng stood nearby, watching Shi Luo, his brow furrowing almost unnoticeably.

He could sense that Shi Luo paid special attention to An Yi.

But he didn't say anything.

He could see the dynamic between An Yi and Shi Luo—An Yi only saw Shi Luo as a regular classmate, and Shi Luo was reserved and never crossed any lines.

That was enough.

He didn't need to meddle in An Yi's social life out of jealousy, nor did he need to limit An Yi's freedom due to his own insecurity.

He trusted An Yi.

As for the jealousy he secretly swallowed... he could deal with it himself.

No need to bother An Yi with it.

With that thought, An Cheng's brow smoothed out. He walked over to An Yi, took the box from him, and said, "Let me."

----------

Life didn't change much after moving into An Cheng's place.

An Cheng gave the master bedroom to An Yi. "You take this room," he said, carrying An Yi's luggage in. "I'll take the guest room."

An Yi glanced at the master bedroom, then at An Cheng, and said nothing.

But the next day, An Cheng showed up at An Yi's door, pillow in hand.

From then on, he never moved back out.

And An Yi never kicked him out.

So the two of them lived together, slept in the same bed, and shared the same space.
