Chapter 518: The Fourth Day of Transmigrating into an Interstellar World

Chapter 518: Day Four in the Interstellar World

As they left Cong Tianyue's office, the corridor lights had already dimmed a level, switching to the space station's nighttime mode.

The alloy floor reflected the faint glow of the corridor lights, and the whole corridor was much quieter than during the day, with only the occasional sound of patrol teams' footsteps passing by.

An Yi walked in the middle.

Ahead of him was Jiang Biao's broad frame, with Xing Ruize walking beside him. The rank bars on his shoulder were reduced to a few blurry outlines in the dimness. His posture was straight, his pace steady, each step falling in the same rhythm.

George quickened his pace, sliding up to An Yi from behind and waving at him.

"An Yi, which berth section are you in?" George asked. "We'll pack up in a bit—we're heading out early tomorrow morning."

"E-9," An Yi said.

"E-9?" George's eyes brightened. "Isn't that right near us? I'm in E-6, Ma Zhiye's in E-8, Jiang Biao's in E-12, Cheng Hong's in E-11—and the captain's in E-10!"

He counted on his fingers, then turned back and shouted to Xing Ruize, "Captain, does this count as us all meeting up early?"

Xing Ruize's steps seemed to falter for a moment—so subtle that if An Yi hadn't been watching him, he wouldn't have noticed at all.

"Mm," Xing Ruize said.

Just one word.

George shrugged, leaned in toward An Yi, and lowered his voice: "That's just how the captain is—he doesn't talk much. Don't mind it. He's actually a decent guy."

An Yi smiled slightly.

"Okay."

His voice was soft, with a gentle trailing note, as if he didn't really care.

Xing Ruize glanced at An Yi, not making it obvious.

—Why was An Yi staring at him again?

The thought popped into his head, and Xing Ruize's back stiffened almost imperceptibly.

He lowered his eyes and, in the dim corridor light, quietly smoothed his collar.

His cuffs were already neat, but he still pressed his thumb along the crease.

George didn't notice the captain's movement—he was looking at An Yi.

"As long as you don't mind," George said, grinning.

An Yi smiled.

George blinked.

"You've got a nice smile, honestly. You look good without it too," George said.

An Yi didn't reply.

At the end of the corridor, the Section E sign glowed faint blue.

Xing Ruize stopped and turned around. His gaze swept over the group and finally landed on An Yi.

"Five o'clock tomorrow," he said. "Dock D-3, the transport ship *Yuanxing*."

An Yi nodded. "Got it."

Xing Ruize looked at him. In the dimness, his eyes seemed deeper than in daylight—like the universe outside the porthole, impossible to read.

He added, "Don't be late."

"Okay."

An Yi replied naturally.

Xing Ruize's lips moved slightly, as if he wanted to say more.

But in the end, he just said "Mm" and turned to leave.

Jiang Biao walked over, raised a hand, and patted An Yi on the shoulder.

"That's just how the captain is—he's like that with everyone. Don't take it personally," Jiang Biao said with a grin. "Get some rest, kid."

With that, he followed the others.

When Ma Zhiye passed An Yi, he paused for a moment.

He turned his head, glanced at An Yi, and then—rare for him—said: "He talks too much. Don't mind him."

He pointed at George.

Then he walked off, expressionless.

George: "..."

George: "Ma Zhiye, what do you mean by that?!"

No one answered him.

Cheng Hong was the last to leave.

As he passed An Yi, he paused, tilted his head, and let his gaze rest on An Yi's face for two seconds.

That look was the same as in the office earlier—heavy, as if sizing something up.

"See you tomorrow," he said at last.

An Yi nodded to him. "See you tomorrow."

After Cheng Hong left, An Yi was the only one remaining in the corridor.

He stood in place, watching those figures disappear into the end of the passage.

Jiang Biao's back was finally swallowed by the corner. George was still saying something, his voice drifting from afar—the words indistinguishable, only a few syllables barely catching the ear before falling into complete silence.

An Yi lowered his head and glanced at his wristband.

There was a new message on the screen. Sender: Cong Tianyue.

"Work hard. Don't embarrass me."

An Yi curved his lips into a smile and typed back a single word: "Okay."

Then he looked up, turned, and headed toward E-9.

Every ten meters down the corridor, there was a porthole on each side.

Through the transparent alloy windows, the huge blue-white planet was slowly turning.

Swirling air currents formed enormous storms on its surface, each one bigger than any city on the ground.

Clouds churned in its atmosphere, with patches of deep blue surface showing in some spots, while others were covered in white cyclones.

An Yi paused mid-step.

He stood at the porthole, staring at the planet.

The starry sky.

A breathtaking starry sky.

Did An Yi Star exist in this world too?

He looked away and kept walking.

"This male lead seems off—"

"Wait, An Yi just looks at him, and he starts fixing himself up—what does that mean??"

"Don't ask, just call it a character description (dog head)"

"No, I'm genuinely curious! 'A woman dresses up for the one who appreciates her' explains it."

"Are they really baiting fans? And it's always one-sided from the male lead?"

"Not really! It's just that the male lead keeps sneaking looks at An Yi, overthinking when An Yi looks at him, and caring about how he looks! That's nothing! (stubborn.jpg)"

"The male lead is really different around this An Yi!"

"Different how? Didn't the captain just say a few things? And they were all orders!"

"Really? Put your hand over your heart!"

"Damn! You're making me touch something I don't even have!"

"HAHAHAHA!"

"@Author! If you're baiting fans, don't make the male lead do all the work! And don't overdo it! Sell it slow, gradual, and sustainable! What if you end up making them actually gay?"

"@Author, you wouldn't do that, right?"

"It's understandable, though. An Yi is just too good-looking, and the author's descriptions are so over the top—could it be projecting a crush?"

"What! So the author's crush is a guy!"

"Pass it on! The author is GAY!"

"Pass it on, the author got GAYED!"

"LOL, the author is really hanging in there!"

"Actually, it makes sense An Yi got this role—he's handsome and has that vibe."

"Can't help it, who can resist a sweet, good-looking guy who can also fix spaceships?"

"He can fix spaceships too? Who can handle that!"

"Can't handle it, can't handle it!!"

"My young master can fix spaceships now! (said in that tone.jpg)"

"......"

An Yi: "......"

The little readers in the comments are still so lively and adorable.

Whatever.
