Chapter 116: Back To That Key Moment ①
When Shang Ke woke, the man beside him was breathing evenly, deeply asleep as though he hadn’t slept this soundly in a very long time.
Shang Ke lifted the blanket and carefully prepared to get out of bed, but the moment he shifted, Jian Chenfeng jolted awake from his deep sleep and tightened his arms around him.
“Yumo.” Jian Chenfeng raised a hand and traced Shang Ke’s brows and eyes, staring at him without blinking.
“Mm.” Shang Ke tilted his head against the soft pillow and answered lazily.
It wasn’t a dream. This man was right in front of him, right here in his arms, and they had even spent a blissful night together.
Jian Chenfeng’s eyes were filled with barely contained joy, along with an uneasy sense that none of this was quite real. As though he needed to prove something to himself, he kissed Shang Ke hard and greedily tasted his lips.
Just then, the phone on the bedside table suddenly rang.
Jian Chenfeng ignored it and continued kissing the man in his arms, but the phone rang on and on without stopping, as though someone were calling to collect a life debt.
“The phone…” Shang Ke’s muffled voice squeezed out between their lips.
Jian Chenfeng stretched out one long arm, grabbed the phone, and hurled it at the wall. With a sharp crack, the world finally fell silent. The poor phone shattered into pieces and died without even an intact corpse.
As far as Jian Chenfeng was concerned, nothing could be allowed to interfere with him having wild sex with this man right now.
Everything last night had happened in such a dreamlike haze that only now did it begin to feel truly real. His breathing, his heartbeat, his warmth, his lips, his skin… Jian Chenfeng was hopelessly attached to every part of him.
He hadn’t used a condom, wanting nothing between them so he could feel Shang Ke as directly as possible. The tightness around his cock and the pleasure of thrusting into him left Jian Chenfeng completely unable to stop. Listening to the faint pleas coming from the man beneath him, he soothed Shang Ke even as he fucked him harder.
From the moment their bodies joined, they were destined never to be separated again.
Yumo would belong to him for this entire lifetime.
The two moved from the bed to the bathroom, then from the bathroom back to the bed, trying almost every position imaginable.
Shang Ke hadn’t expected Jian Chenfeng to have this much stamina. Even with Shang Ke’s enhanced constitution, he was beginning to reach his limit. In the end, he could only let Jian Chenfeng have his way with him, drifting endlessly between exhaustion and pleasure…
Ding-dong! Ding-dong!
The doorbell rang urgently outside the room.
Jian Chenfeng frowned and opened his eyes in irritation. The man in his arms was still asleep. He kissed Shang Ke’s back, then reluctantly pulled out of his body, threw on a robe, and left the bedroom.
When he opened the door, he found his secretary, Cui-something-or-other, standing outside.
“What is it?” Jian Chenfeng demanded, his expression murderous.
Secretary Cui braced himself and replied, “There’s an important meeting today that requires President Jian to preside over it. No one answered when I called this morning, so I had no choice but to come here personally for instructions.”
“Cancel it,” Jian Chenfeng said without hesitation. “I won’t be available for the next week.”
Secretary Cui asked curiously, “President Jian, did something happen?” Their workaholic boss, who had never taken a vacation in his life, was suddenly skipping work for an entire week? Did he get his period or something?
“Handle the company’s affairs for the time being. Unless there’s an especially important decision that requires me, don’t disturb me.” Jian Chenfeng’s cold expression plainly said, Goodbye. Don’t expect me to see you out.
Secretary Cui was just about to make one more attempt when he heard a faint sound from the room behind Jian Chenfeng.
Both men looked inside at the same time and saw Shang Ke, wearing nothing but a shirt with his bare legs exposed, drift through the living room like a ghost before disappearing into the kitchen.
Jian Chenfeng turned back and stared at Secretary Cui. “What did you just see?”
Secretary Cui barely managed to retract his stunned gaze and answered cautiously, “I didn’t see anything.”
Holy fuck! The person in President Jian’s apartment was Second Young Master Jiang—Jiang Yumo! But that wasn’t the point. The point was that Young Master Jiang was wearing nothing but a shirt—not even underwear—as he casually wandered around President Jian’s home. But that still wasn’t the most important part. The most important part was that Jiang Yumo’s entire body was covered in hickeys! There wasn’t a single untouched patch of exposed skin. Damn his eyesight for being so good—he could even clearly see the marks on the insides of Yumo’s thighs!
Young Master Jiang couldn’t possibly have brought a woman into President Jian’s home to have sex, could he? So obviously the person he had been fucking was President Jian! Or rather… President Jian had been fucking him.
Secretary Cui knew President Jian had feelings for Jiang Yumo, but he hadn’t expected him to move this fast! The man had only just been discharged from the hospital, and he had already been dragged into bed. President Jian, does his family know you’re this fierce?!
Despite everything racing through his head, Secretary Cui didn’t dare show any of it. Who knew whether his lust-addled boss might decide to have him “humanely destroyed”?
“Good. You can leave.” Jian Chenfeng slammed the door shut.
Secretary Cui rubbed his nose and left gloomily, his stomach practically bursting with gossip.
“What are you making?” Jian Chenfeng walked into the kitchen and wrapped his arms around Shang Ke from behind.
“I’m a little hungry, so I’m making something simple.” Without realizing it, it was already three in the afternoon. After all the physical exertion, Shang Ke urgently needed to replenish his energy.
“I’ll do it.” Seeing Shang Ke yawning repeatedly, Jian Chenfeng reached for the utensils in his hands.
“No need.” Shang Ke nudged him with an elbow. “Go wash up. I’ll be done in a minute.” A certain someone’s body was like a furnace, radiating enough heat to scorch him.
Jian Chenfeng didn’t insist. It had been a very, very long time since he had tasted Shang Ke’s cooking, and just thinking about it was enough to make his mouth water.
He kissed Shang Ke on the cheek, then headed toward the bathroom with unusually light steps.
Shang Ke only made two simple meals, yet Jian Chenfeng ate with extraordinary satisfaction. The moment he took his first bite, he almost burst into tears. He had never been a sentimental man, but after spending most of a lifetime in loneliness and waiting, he cherished the happiness before him beyond measure.
“Yumo, live with me.” Jian Chenfeng gazed deeply at Shang Ke and expressed his feelings as naturally as if it were already decided. Since Yumo hadn’t rejected having sex with him, that meant he had accepted him.
“Okay.” Before, Shang Ke had been unable to promise him anything. This time, however, he could finally give him a definite answer.
Jian Chenfeng stood up and pulled him into a tight embrace, the happiest smile of his entire life spreading across his face.
Over the following week, the two woke up and wished each other good morning every day, brushed their teeth and washed their faces together, made breakfast together, went jogging together, watched television together, went shopping together, tasted good food together, watched movies together, showered together, had sex together, and stargazed together…
A week later, Jian Chenfeng decisively came out to both his own family and Jiang Yumo’s parents.
The elders of both families were completely dumbfounded.
Their sons had been straight for twenty or thirty years—how had they suddenly turned gay just like that? Couldn’t they have given their parents some advance warning? At least let them prepare themselves! But no, by the time the elders recovered from the shock, these two bastards had already done everything they should and shouldn’t have done.
“No son of mine is going to be with a man!” Jiang Song declared firmly.
“Dad.” Shang Ke linked arms with Jiang Song and sighed. “Actually, I don’t want to be with a man either.”
Jian Chenfeng’s wary gaze immediately snapped toward him.
“Then what exactly is going on between you and him?” Father Jiang angrily pointed at Jian Chenfeng.
Shang Ke pulled his father’s hand down and whispered into his ear, “The truth is cruel. Ever since my surgery, I discovered that I’d developed an incurable case of ‘no one but him will do.’ I suspect he drugged me somehow, but I haven’t found any evidence, so I guess I’ll just have to live with it.”
Father Jiang nearly choked with anger. In such a tense situation, this brat still dared joke with him!
Jian Chenfeng, however, breathed a sigh of relief. A smile appeared in his eyes as he looked at Shang Ke tenderly.
Unfortunately, Father Jiang remained firm. No matter how much Shang Ke acted spoiled or tried to charm him, he refused to change his mind. With no other choice, the two could only beat a temporary retreat—“semen” and all—and save the next battle for another day.
While the Jiang family was being battered by stormy waves, the Jian family was practically experiencing an earthquake. The two men coming out together snapped quite a few people’s nerves.
“Why don’t we elope?” Jian Chenfeng suddenly suggested after growing thoroughly sick of all the trouble.
“What about your company?” Shang Ke hadn’t expected Jian Chenfeng to be the kind of romantic who could decide to throw caution to the wind at a moment’s notice.
“It won’t collapse.” Jian Chenfeng spoke as though it were nothing. “At worst, we’ll lose a few billion in business.”
He had already devoted most of his previous life to the Jian family. In this life, he only wanted to do what he himself wanted.
“In that case, let’s elope.” They immediately reached an agreement, and once they decided to run, they ran.
The very next day, they packed their luggage and flew off carefree to the other side of the world.
By the time the two families realized what had happened, the pair had vanished so completely that not even a ghost of them could be found.
The Jian family strongly suspected that the badly behaved Jiang Yumo had corrupted their mature and steady son, while the Jiang family was convinced that the calculating and experienced Jian Chenfeng had seduced their innocent, simple-minded boy.
The two families promptly launched into a fierce war of words. Meanwhile, the two people responsible were off somewhere else, carefree and blissfully enjoying themselves to the point of forgetting all about home.
This continued for more than a month, until the Jian Group fell into a major crisis because confidential information had been leaked. Only then did the two families finally quiet down.
“Aren’t you going back to take a look?” Shang Ke asked while lying on the large bed in their ocean-view suite and browsing the web.
“It’s fine.” Jian Chenfeng sat comfortably on the sofa with a cup of coffee. “My father has been too arrogant and aggressive in the way he handles things these past few years. This crisis is exactly what he needs to cool his head.”
“He’s your father. Is it really okay to scheme against him like this?”
“You learn from getting burned. As his son, I have an obligation to make him face reality now so he doesn’t pay an even greater price for it later.” Jian Chenfeng took a sip of coffee, his tone completely calm.
Shang Ke silently lit a candle for Father Jian.
“Hm?” Shang Ke received an email from Jiang Donglin.
“What is it?” Jian Chenfeng put down his cup and walked over to Shang Ke.
“My brother and Jian Xin returned home yesterday.” Shang Ke looked up at Jian Chenfeng. “Do you think we should head back too?”
Jian Chenfeng tossed the tablet out of Shang Ke’s hands, leaned over him, and captured his lips in a deep, passionate kiss.
Jian Chenfeng still wasn’t at ease where Jian Xin was concerned. Who knew whether sparks might fly the moment Yumo saw her again and everything spiral out of control? He had to eliminate the possibility before it could happen and delay their meeting for as long as possible—preferably forever.
After kissing the man beneath him until Shang Ke’s eyes turned hazy, Jian Chenfeng said in a low voice, “How about we go to Antarctica tomorrow to see the penguins?”
Shang Ke: …Excuse me?
