Chapter 153: I Am An Evil Pen (X)
Recently, Wen Jingrong had developed the habit of never letting his pen leave his hand. He played with it while working, while drinking coffee, and while reading the news, occasionally discussing current events with his pen along the way. At meals, he set his pen beside his bowl as though letting it share the dishes, and he even took it with him to the bathroom to play Sudoku…
His secretary was convinced his boss had developed a severe case of pen obsession. Every time he accidentally witnessed Wen Jingrong discussing life with his own pen, he felt his entire worldview collapse. Doesn’t President Wen have an absurdly gorgeous boyfriend? Hurry over here and save him!
“President Wen, everything has been arranged at the new workshop. They can take in two hundred people for training at a time.” The secretary delivered his report with perfect professionalism, though his gaze unconsciously drifted toward the pen in Wen Jingrong’s hand.
Wen Jingrong nodded, signed his name at the bottom of the document, and instructed, “Here’s the list. Have someone notify them. Anyone willing to attend the training will be accepted unconditionally.”
“Yes, sir.” The secretary took the list and left the office.
“What do you think?” Wen Jingrong looked at thumb-sized Shang Ke, who was currently swimming in his teacup.
“Excellent.” Shang Ke leisurely swam backstroke while giving his man a thumbs-up.
Wen Jingrong examined his cup. Once a Keke was inside, there was barely enough room left for him to swim. So the next day, Wen Jingrong had someone buy a fish tank and place it on his desk.
Shang Ke crouched beside the fish tank, watching the goldfish swim around inside, then suddenly said to the man behind him, “Wen Jingrong, can we discuss something?”
“What?” Wen Jingrong’s gaze subtly shifted between Shang Ke and the fish tank. Isn’t he going swimming today? I enlarged his “pool” several times over, and it’s even transparent…
“Let’s not keep goldfish. Let’s get a turtle instead. Turtles are easier to raise.” And I could ride it around and everything.
“All right.” Wen Jingrong agreed indulgently.
Just as the two of them were happily enjoying their decidedly unconventional life together, they received bad news.
The police had found the three arsonists—or more precisely, they had found their bodies. Every lead ended with them.
But by now, one thing was essentially certain: this had not been some random act of violence against society. The attack had clearly been aimed at Wen Jingrong.
Naturally, Wen Jingrong did not connect the incident to Shang Ke. Shang Ke’s identity was too unusual, and as far as Wen Jingrong knew, he had no grudges or conflicts with anyone in the outside world. Wen Jingrong therefore searched for clues among his own enemies, taking his investigation in completely the wrong direction. It never occurred to him that the entire incident had begun as one person’s impulsive attempt to vent his resentment.
A peaceful month passed like this, and Shang Ke accumulated enough baleful energy to “grow into an adult” again. But he did not immediately return to full size and continued being intimate with Wen Jingrong only in dreams. Unfortunately, the frequent wet dreams left Wen Jingrong suffering terribly. He washed one bedsheet after another until he was practically running out of places to hang them.
Shang Ke felt sorry for his man, so he stopped appearing in Wen Jingrong’s dreams quite so often, lest the man literally ejaculate himself to death.
Wen Jingrong irritably declared: I’d rather ejaculate myself dry than endure this kind of sexual frustration!
Half a month later, through Wen Jingrong’s help and their own efforts, most of the unemployed people on Shang Ke’s list had found new jobs. The total exceeded one thousand, successfully reaching the mission target.
【Congratulations, Host, on completing the Main Mission—Solve the employment problems of 1,000 unemployed people, laid-off workers, veterans, or formerly incarcerated people. Reward: three additional years of stay. Special reminder: the Main Mission’s Heroic Value is below 30%. Please complete the Additional Mission as heroically as possible, or you may fail to obtain a Return Key.】
Shang Ke had nothing to say to that. As an evil pen struggling desperately to survive, his performance in this world really had been rather “evil.” Even the Main Mission had been completed largely through Wen Jingrong’s efforts.
【Additional Mission 1—Five months from now, a major accident will occur at a Qingwei Construction worksite. Rescue at least five victims. The more people you save, the higher your Perfection Value.】
Qingwei? Isn’t that Bai Lin’s company?
Shang Ke searched online and discovered that Qingwei had actually become one of the contractors for the Pano Island development project. Even after losing Wen Jingrong’s support, they had still successfully secured a share of the development rights. Bai Lin apparently did have some ability after all.
The mission stated that an accident would occur five months later, but Shang Ke did not know the exact location, so naturally he could not issue an advance warning. A raw-material extraction site, a construction site, land transportation, maritime shipping—any of them could potentially produce a major accident.
So I can only wait until the accident actually happens before acting? System, would it kill you to tell me the location and cause? Wouldn’t preventing the accident entirely be better?
【This is the inevitable result of accumulated baleful energy. Even if this incident is prevented, another will occur in its place. Host’s task is primarily to create a chance of survival for the innocent, not to block the consequences of baleful energy for those steeped in it.】
“All right, I understand.” Shang Ke rolled around on the toy bed Wen Jingrong had prepared for him, hugging a tiny pillow.
At that moment, an enormous head leaned over and completely engulfed him in shadow.
“Keke, I’m going to take a bath. Want to come with me?” Wen Jingrong asked.
Shang Ke rolled to his feet, climbed along Wen Jingrong’s arm, and jumped onto his shoulder. “Together.”
The two went into the bathroom and undressed. One climbed into the large bathtub, while the other settled into a tiny one. Shang Ke’s miniature tub was made of wood and floated on the surface of the water.
Wen Jingrong relaxed against one end of the bathtub, his gaze repeatedly drifting toward the little figure among the bubbles. As he watched, drowsiness gradually overtook him, and amid the warm steam he unknowingly fell asleep.
In his haze, he seemed to enter another dream. Keke was sitting on top of him, gently kissing his lips.
Wen Jingrong wrapped his arms tightly around him and deepened the kiss, their tongues tangling together as his hands familiarly began exploring Shang Ke’s body.
Shang Ke had originally seen Wen Jingrong sleeping and decided to tease him a little. He returned to normal size and secretly nibbled at his lips. Unexpectedly, Wen Jingrong ignited at the slightest spark, immediately reversing their positions and seizing the initiative.
Shang Ke did not even have time to cry out in pain before Wen Jingrong thrust his hips upward and drove his hard cock straight inside him, burying himself all the way to the deepest point. Days of pent-up desire erupted at once. Wen Jingrong turned them over, pinned Shang Ke against the side of the bathtub, and thrust hard in and out, sending waves splashing through the water.
Amid the pain, Shang Ke absorbed the baleful energy generated by Wen Jingrong’s lust. For the first time, the dense sexual energy was replenishing him faster than Wen Jingrong’s good fortune could consume it.
Is this what they mean when they say reunion sex is better than newlywed sex? Shang Ke thought hazily. So there really are benefits to leaving a longer interval between rounds…
Wen Jingrong opened his eyes, drove into him with one final hard thrust, and climaxed. He had finally waited long enough for Shang Ke to “grow up” again—how could he possibly let him off so easily? After quickly rinsing them both beneath the shower, he carried Shang Ke back to the bedroom to continue the next round of thrusting…
The next day, Shang Ke turned back into his thumb-sized form and followed Wen Jingrong to the company.
While Wen Jingrong was reviewing documents, he suddenly seemed to remember something. He looked up at the little figure bouncing around on his keyboard and asked, “Keke, when you told me before that you had a girlfriend, were you lying to me?”
Caught off guard by the question, Shang Ke’s foot slipped into the gap between two keys. Just as he was about to fall, Wen Jingrong quickly extended a pen beneath his arms for support.
Clinging to the pen barrel, Shang Ke replied calmly, “I really do have a girlfriend.”
“What?” Wen Jingrong’s eyes sharpened. “Who?!”
“Your spare smartpen.” Shang Ke sighed admiringly. “That exquisite appearance, fashionable design, and quiet personality—she’s practically the goddess of my dreams!”
Wen Jingrong: “…” Keke is a pen, so I suppose it makes perfect sense for him to be attracted to another pen?
Shang Ke gave Wen Jingrong a critical once-over. “By comparison, you’re domineering and completely insatiable, far beyond what any pen should reasonably be expected to endure. If I weren’t bound to you, I’d have collected several gorgeous little ‘pen pals’ for myself by now.”
Absolutely outrageous! He even wants to keep several of them!
Wen Jingrong tried to hold back but ultimately argued, “You’re a pen demon. How could you possibly date an ordinary pen?”
“You’re a human and you still managed to fall in love with a pen. Why can’t a perfectly straight pen like me fall in love with my own kind?”
Wen Jingrong: “…”
Seeing Wen Jingrong rendered speechless, Shang Ke comforted him, “Don’t worry. I’m a principled pen. Since you’ve already bent me, I’m not going straight again.”
Wen Jingrong: Why does that sentence sound wrong somehow?
After finishing the day’s work, Wen Jingrong was about to fasten Shang Ke to his cuff when he noticed the spare smartpen already clipped there. He paused, removed the spare pen and placed it in his pocket, then fastened Shang Ke onto his sleeve instead.
This was absolutely not jealousy. Two cufflinks on one sleeve were simply too crowded!
A few days later, Qingwei sent an invitation asking Wen Jingrong to attend a celebration banquet for their successful acquisition of development rights on Pano Island.
Wen Jingrong accepted the invitation. In truth, he was quite curious about how Qingwei had managed to secure the project and wanted to know who was funding them from behind the scenes.
Shang Ke attended the banquet with him. He wore a white suit that contrasted sharply with Wen Jingrong’s all-black attire. One looked gentle and refined as jade, the other cold and dangerously imposing. Unsurprisingly, they immediately became the center of attention.
Shang Ke had not originally intended to attend in his adult form. But the previous night, Wen Jingrong had personally cooked for him and produced a true culinary abomination. Shang Ke normally had little interest in ordinary food, yet that disastrous meal somehow tasted so terrible that he could practically taste baleful energy in it. Naturally, he had happily accepted the invitation afterward.
Shang Ke discovered that Wen Jingrong possessed an extraordinary dark talent for cooking, providing him with an entirely new source of baleful energy.
The banquet appeared harmonious and prosperous on the surface, but undercurrents churned beneath it and wisps of baleful energy appeared from time to time. Wen Jingrong’s good fortune purified most of it, but Shang Ke could still absorb a little here and there.
Before long, Bai Lin delivered a speech on Qingwei’s behalf. He carried himself gracefully and spoke with ease, earning enthusiastic applause.
Shang Ke noticed that the baleful energy around Bai Lin had grown even denser than before. But the person who truly attracted Shang Ke’s attention was another man. He appeared to be around forty, with a vicious-looking face, an obviously false smile, and eyes like a venomous snake, glinting with cold malice.
The baleful energy surrounding him was the densest Shang Ke had ever encountered, almost comparable to the violent felons he had sensed in prison. He was clearly a ruthless criminal who placed little value on human life.
As though sensing Shang Ke’s scrutiny, the man abruptly turned his head and fixed him with a sharp stare. Upon seeing Shang Ke, he paused for a moment before smiling and raising his glass in greeting.
Shang Ke pretended not to notice and looked away.
The man took a small sip of wine and swept an intrigued gaze over Shang Ke.
“It’s getting late. Shall we go home?” Wen Jingrong said beside Shang Ke’s ear. He had only attended to show his support. Now that he had made an appearance, there was no reason to remain any longer.
“President Wen, please wait.” Bai Lin stopped him with a smile. “Mr. Naben from Pano Island is here as well. He’d like to invite you over for a ‘private’ conversation.”
He deliberately emphasized the word “private,” then gave Shang Ke a pointed glance.
Wen Jingrong frowned. Naben was an aristocrat from Cresa and one of the people overseeing the Pano Island development project. Although they had no business dealings with each other, refusing outright would still be discourteous.
So he asked Shang Ke to wait for him in the lounge area and left with Bai Lin.
Watching his man get lured away by someone else, Shang Ke certainly had no intention of sitting around passively. He turned toward the restroom, planning to find somewhere private, transform back into an evil pen, and return to Wen Jingrong’s side.
After Shang Ke disappeared into the corridor, the man shrouded in dense baleful energy leisurely followed after him…
