Chapter 236: Back To That Key Moment ⑦

Lu Xiufan quietly put the medicine bottle away, then walked over to Shang Ke and asked gently, “Why aren’t you asleep yet?”

Shang Ke said nothing and simply looked at him in silence. Lu Xiufan grew uneasy under that steady gaze and was just about to offer an explanation when a musical chime suddenly sounded through the room, signaling that it was time to rest.

“Good night.” Shang Ke forced the two words out through his still-stiff throat, then turned his wheelchair around and left.

Lu Xiufan stared after him in bewilderment. He had gazed at him so “affectionately” for all that time just to wait until bedtime and say good night?

“Keke.” Lu Xiufan quickly caught up and followed him all the way into his room.

Shang Ke stopped his wheelchair beside the door. Once Lu Xiufan entered, he raised a hand, closed the door, and locked it with a click.

Lu Xiufan glanced at the closed door, then at Shang Ke’s impassive face. Was Keke about to interrogate him? Settle accounts with him? Or… commit domestic violence? And why was he inexplicably looking forward to it?

Shang Ke pulled back the covers and got into bed, leaving half of it empty. Then he turned his face toward Lu Xiufan, his jewel-like eyes shimmering softly.

Lu Xiufan had absolutely no resistance to that kind of temptation. By the time he came back to his senses, he was already lying beside Shang Ke.

“Keke, I cough a little at night. I might disturb your sleep.” Lu Xiufan made one final attempt to resist. The moment he finished speaking, however, Shang Ke calmly took a pair of headphones from the bedside cabinet, put them on, opened the smart display at the head of the bed, selected a music album, and pressed play.

Lu Xiufan: “…”

Next, Shang Ke opened his Covenantor employment contract and pointed to the supplementary clause for “sleeping beside the employer.”

Lu Xiufan’s gaze passed over “sleeping beside the employer” and landed on the clause immediately beneath it: “having sex with the employer.”

Three years. Shang Ke had slept for three years, and Lu Xiufan had been lonely for three years.

“Keke, you’re no longer a Covenantor. You don’t need to fulfill this contract anymore.” Lu Xiufan drew him into his arms and sighed softly. “Just do whatever you want to do.”

Whatever he wanted to do? There was only one word for it: tease!

Shang Ke wrapped his arms around Lu Xiufan’s waist, tipped his head up, and kissed him once. He pulled back—then kissed him again.

The warm softness against his lips sent Lu Xiufan’s thoughts racing and his blood surging. Somehow, ever since Keke had awakened, he seemed even more adorable and alluring than before.

Lu Xiufan could not resist deepening the kiss. The familiar, wonderful sensation set his entire body aflame. Heaven knew how badly he had wanted to kiss him, hold him, possess him—make him a part of himself so he could never leave again.

“Cough, cough…” Just as desire began to overwhelm him, Lu Xiufan abruptly released Shang Ke, turned aside, and braced himself against the edge of the bed as a violent coughing fit seized him.

Shang Ke sat up and rubbed his back while sighing inwardly. Keep wrecking your health and let’s see how you plan to stand tall and show off your virility in the future.

“If you’re sick… you need treatment.” Shang Ke had secretly checked his pulse earlier. Just as Fei Lin had said, the problem came from lingering damage left by old injuries. It was nothing immediately dangerous, but it would require a long period of careful recuperation.

Once Lu Xiufan’s coughing eased, Shang Ke summoned the butler and supervised until he took his medicine.

Lu Xiufan set down the glass of water. Seeing Shang Ke staring at him without blinking, he reassured him, “It’s nothing serious, just a minor problem. I’ve been taking medicine lately. Don’t worry.”

Medicine alone was not enough.

Shang Ke suddenly asked, “You said before… that you wanted to travel with me?”

“I did. Is there somewhere you want to go?” Lu Xiufan asked.

Shang Ke nodded, opened an electronic map, and pointed to a location.

“Linde Town? Mm. The scenery is beautiful, and public safety is excellent.” Lu Xiufan approved.

What attracted Shang Ke was not merely the scenery and safety. Linde Town was also legendary as a holy land for retirement.

In the capital, Lu Xiufan had to remain vigilant at all times and could never truly relax enough to recuperate. The forces he had suppressed no longer had any chance of making a comeback, but retaliatory attacks still occurred from time to time. If they encountered one or two desperate men determined to drag everyone down with them, Lu Xiufan could be thrown into danger at any moment.

Shang Ke leaned against Lu Xiufan’s shoulder and quietly listened to him describe Linde Town. Even though all of the information was available online, Shang Ke listened with complete attention.

Before long, Lu Xiufan’s voice abruptly stopped. Shang Ke looked up and discovered that he had fallen asleep against the headboard, his brows drawn tight and deep exhaustion etched across his face. Shang Ke had no idea how this man had survived the three years he himself had spent unconscious.

Just as Shang Ke helped him lie down, Lu Xiufan’s eyes snapped open. Two sharp beams of vigilance landed on Shang Ke, then immediately softened. Lu Xiufan reached out, wrapped his arms around Shang Ke’s waist, buried his face in the hollow of his neck, and slowly closed his eyes again.

Feeling Lu Xiufan gradually relax, Shang Ke’s heart settled. He pulled up the blanket and wrapped them both tightly inside it, leaving only two heads nestled together above the covers.

Good night, my love.

A month later, Shang Ke had recovered considerably. As planned, Lu Xiufan set aside all official business and quietly left the capital with him.

Shang Ke received a new identity card, while Lu Xiufan altered his appearance and used the alias “Chen Xiao” to rent a detached house on the outskirts of Linde Town. A beautiful maple forest stood outside, and most of their neighbors were elderly people who had come there to enjoy their retirement.

The alias “Chen Xiao” had been chosen by Shang Ke, playing on the phrase “a beautiful moment and lovely scenery” and the line “spring nights are all too short.” Lu Xiufan was extremely satisfied with it.

For this trip, Lu Xiufan used forces he had cultivated in secret to completely evade the capital’s surveillance. Even his elder brother did not know where he had gone. All Lu Xiufan wanted was to live quietly with Shang Ke somewhere no one knew them, enjoying a world that belonged only to the two of them.

“Keke, what are you doing?” Lu Xiufan saw Shang Ke bent over in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, writing something.

“Itinerary.” Shang Ke handed him the sheet of paper.

Lu Xiufan sat beside him, unfolded it, and read each item aloud. “August 10: city walk. August 11: food exploration. August 12: boating on the Xiyuan River. August 13: fashion expo. August 14: street performance along the scenic promenade…”

The densely packed itinerary stretched all the way into October, with something different scheduled for every single day. Lu Xiufan almost wanted to kneel in admiration.

“What do you think?” Shang Ke asked.

Lu Xiufan looked at his utterly serious expression and smiled. “Whatever you want.”

The next day, they began carrying out the itinerary.

Unfortunately, plans could never keep pace with change. Their schedule was derailed on the very first day.

First they got lost in the city. Then a downpour hit, forcing them to find a nearby restaurant where they could shelter from the rain and eat at the same time.

The rain did nothing to dampen their good mood. Once they had eaten their fill, Lu Xiufan asked a waiter to help buy an umbrella, then took Shang Ke strolling through the rain.

The city was shrouded in hazy rain and mist, pedestrians hurrying past them in every direction. They seemed to be the only two people completely unaffected by the weather.

They browsed a few shops, watched a movie, then spent the entire afternoon at an arcade. Working together, they cleared three games in succession and earned cheers from the crowd. Afterward they went to the food street and ate to their hearts’ content. By late night, they still had not managed to find their way home.

So they simply booked a luxury suite at a nearby upscale hotel.

As soon as the door closed, the first thing Lu Xiufan did was strip off all his damp clothes. Then he scooped Shang Ke up and strode into the bathroom. An entire day of sightseeing had not tired him in the slightest; if anything, it had left him even more excited.

In the steamy mist, their heated bodies tangled together, broken moans swallowed by the sound of running water. Lu Xiufan grabbed a towel and hastily wiped the water from both of them before carrying Shang Ke back into the bedroom. The instant he pressed Shang Ke down, he drove into him hard, burying himself to the hilt. His thrusts came fast and rhythmically, pouring out all the passion and pent-up energy he had been holding inside.

Lu Xiufan had been restraining himself all this time, afraid that his urgency might hurt Shang Ke. But now, far away from the capital, he could no longer hold back. He wanted only to possess this man roughly, wildly, without restraint. Lu Xiufan pressed him against the headboard, hooked up one of his legs, and thrust hard, forcing himself deeper. Shang Ke could not keep up with his pace and could only let Lu Xiufan move him however he pleased, emptying his mind and surrendering himself completely to the rise and fall of their bodies.

The first ray of morning sunlight slipped through a gap in the curtains and reached into the dim room.

With a swish, the curtains were pulled open. A flood of sunlight poured over the disordered bed, waking its occupant with very little gentleness.

Lu Xiufan narrowed his eyes slightly and looked toward the figure standing by the window.

“Good morning, A’xiu.” Shang Ke turned around. Sunlight seemed to fill his eyes, and his soft hair stirred gently with the movement.

At that moment, Lu Xiufan felt as though his entire heart had been filled with happiness.

He walked over, drew Shang Ke into his arms, and the tenderness in his eyes melted little by little like snow beneath warm sunlight. The Prince’s cold, forceful authority dissolved completely before his lover, leaving only gentleness and deep affection.

“Yesterday’s itinerary was ruined. We’ll start over today,” Lu Xiufan said.

Shang Ke shook his head. “No need.”

“Why?” Lu Xiufan asked. “You don’t want to finish everything you planned?”

“Surprises can’t be planned, and enjoyment doesn’t need an itinerary.” Shang Ke looked up at him. “I can’t predict the weather, and I can’t predict accidents—just like I can’t predict what position we’ll use when we have sex.”

The first few sentences had been perfectly reasonable. At the last one, Lu Xiufan could not help laughing, especially when Shang Ke still looked completely serious.

“Mm. Very logical.” Lu Xiufan asked with interest, “Then what did you think of last night’s positions?”

Ever-changing and indecently seductive!

That was what Shang Ke thought, but what he said was, “All over the place. No rhythm or order whatsoever!”

Lu Xiufan suppressed a smile and reflected on his shortcomings. “Then should I switch it up next time? Eight up, seven down? Or seven in, seven out? Would that be more orderly?”

“The point isn’t the number.”

“Then what is it?”

“Quality and duration.” Shang Ke adopted the solemn expression of a scholar engaged in serious academic discussion. “Given how rudimentary your technique is, I think it’s necessary for me to compile a sex manual.”

“…Is my technique really so rudimentary that you need to write an entire manual?”

Shang Ke patted his shoulder encouragingly. “Don’t be discouraged. With A’xiu’s abilities, I’m sure you’ll master it quickly and advance to the next level.”

“You’re right.” Lu Xiufan’s gaze darkened, and his voice turned hoarse. “I really do need to go a little ‘deeper.’”

“Ah…”

Wait, I was wrong! I should never have flirted with you first thing in the morning! Shang Ke screamed inwardly. But it was already too late. He had been pressed against the glass window and was being fucked hard from behind…
