Chapter 30: Locking Eyes in Silence

Originally, the arable and habitable land on the Core Continent was nowhere near as expansive as it was today. It consisted primarily of a coastal strip and a few peripheral islands.

Expanding territories into the Northern Realm and Western Realm proved exceedingly difficult. Furthermore, with primitive navigation technology and the perils of the sea, long-distance ocean voyages were impossible.

Some had once attempted to sail along the coastline to bypass the Endless Forest, but they vanished during their voyages and were never heard from again.

Consequently, the nobles on the Core Continent and its main islands engaged in years of chaotic warfare to vie for resources. Through endless campaigns of conquest, annexation, and enslavement, three major factions gradually emerged. These were known as the Three Kings.
