Chapter 51: Inspecting the Factory

Kaios had previously searched through all sorts of books for information on Soul Magic, but no matter how much he looked, the only description of the soul he could find was the standard tripartite structure. Beyond that, there were no further details.

This so-called tripartite structure of the soul posits that the soul is composed of three main parts.

These are the outermost "Driving Spirit," the core "Essence Spirit," and the deeply hidden "Hidden Ancestor Spirit."

The Driving Spirit is related to a person's various external actions, muscle memory, the use of learned Skills, and so on;

The Essence Spirit is the main body of consciousness, controlling and storing most of a person's thoughts and memories;

The Hidden Ancestor Spirit is the most mysterious, believed to be related to genetic lineage and holding many of the instincts present from birth.
