Chapter 65: A Broadsword Falling from the Sky

Kaios wasn't interested in learning about the daughter of the baron who was engaged to Trist. He also didn't believe that they would get engaged to a baron right after he told Beinam about his plans to make a move against Fan Bo'er and Trist without there being a connection. After all, one of the two riders Beinam dispatched from the Fengyuan Seventh Camp had gone straight to the Van Boer Family. Kaios understood their objective. If the two families became engaged at this time, any move he made against Fan Bo'er and Trist would procedurally involve that baron. The Holy Protection Palace would have to re-evaluate the situation, and the permit would be revoked. Situations involving titled nobles required a relatively more cautious approach. In essence, however, this was just a stalling tactic—buying a month or so at most.
