Chapter 4 Fishing Spots

Lu Qing brought a bunch of small tails and came to a river outside the village.

The river was not big, and the widest part was only about ten meters wide.

However, although the river was not wide, it was not shallow. The deepest part could cover a person’s head, so the adults always forbade the children in the village to play in the river.

Lu Qing naturally followed this admonition.

So when he arrived at the river, he immediately said sternly to the little kids who followed him: “You guys are not allowed to get close to the river, and you are not allowed to play in the water, understand?”

Although Lu Qing was thin, he was fourteen or fifteen years old. In the eyes of the children, he was already half an adult.

The children didn’t dare disobey him and responded obediently, “Got it, Brother Lu Qing.”

Seeing the little brats agree, Lu Qing turned to Xiaoyan, “And Xiaoyan, you have to be good too. Don’t go near the river. Stay here and watch over the barrel. Don’t let the fish get away, okay?”

“Okay,” Xiaoyan agreed obediently, then asked, “Brother, when are you going to start fishing?”

“Don’t worry, I’ll take a look. You can’t just pick any spot to catch these fish.”

This was Lu Qing’s advice based on experience.

There are several crucial steps to good fishing.

For example, choosing a spot, setting the bait, adjusting the float, and preparing the bait—each step can affect the fisherman’s chances of catching a fish.

And of these steps, choosing the right spot is undoubtedly the most important.

A good spot often directly affects the chances of catching a fish. After all

, even the best cook cannot cook without rice. If the fishing spot is poorly chosen, there will be no fish under the water.

So, no matter how skilled you are at fishing, no matter how good your fishing technique, it will be futile and yield few catches.

In his previous life, Lu Qing was a seasoned angler, well-versed in the art.

Choosing a fishing spot naturally necessitated considerable experience.

Although he now resided in another world

, many of the laws governing everything in this world remained interconnected.

The habits of the fish in this other world would likely remain largely unchanged.

So, he wondered if he could draw on his past experience to choose a good fishing spot, ensuring greater success this time.

He didn’t even want to bait the bait. Right now, they didn’t even have enough food at home, so how could they possibly have extra food to use for bait?

After telling the children not to run around and to stay under a large tree, Lu Qing began walking back and forth along the river, scanning the surface.

Soon, he spotted a promising spot.

Using a stick, he pushed down the weeds along the bank, then approached the spot and began observing.

It was a bay with a slow current and lush vegetation, a promising fishing spot.

Lu Qing watched for a moment, feeling somewhat satisfied. Just as he was about to turn back to retrieve his fishing rod, a flash of gray light suddenly appeared in his field of vision.

Lu Qing was all too familiar with this gray light; he hadn’t even counted how many times he had seen it today.

He froze, staring intently at the water’s surface. He

watched as the gray light gradually emerged, forming a one-meter-wide spiral ripple on the surface.

Then, a line of words appeared:

[Common fishing spot: Where small fish gather, seems like a good choice for

fishing.] It was located exactly where Lu Qing had just chosen the spot.

Lu Qing was stunned, then surprised.

His supernatural power had such a function, even able to detect something like a fishing spot?

A hint of pride also filled his heart.

Sure enough, his experience in selecting fishing spots was quite good, and it had even been recognized by his supernatural power.

With this unexpected discovery, Lu Qing didn’t rush to start fishing again.

He continued walking along the riverbank, but this time, he began to deliberately use his supernatural power to search the river for a fishing spot.

Not long after, he discovered two new fishing spots in this section of the river.

What surprised him even more was that one of the fishing spots was not gray, but emitted a faint white light.

[Regular Fishing Spot: A place where fish must pass by to feed. Fishing here might yield a good catch.]

[Beginner Fishing Spot: Wild fruit often falls here, a favorite food for some larger fish.]

[Fishing here might yield a surprising catch.] There were

three notes. The first one was for a gray light fishing spot, and the remaining two described white light fishing spots.

“Sure enough, gray light and white light are different levels of the same thing. Gray light corresponds to a regular fishing spot, white light to a beginner spot,” Lu Qing muttered to himself.

And judging by the descriptions, it was clear there were even more advanced fishing spots.

He just wondered if there were any of those same quality spots in the small river outside the village.

After discovering these three spots, Lu Qing stopped searching.

They already covered the relatively clean stretch of the river outside the village.

As he continued walking, the vegetation along the riverbank grew increasingly dense, making the path more difficult to navigate.

Unless he used tools to clear a spot, it would be difficult to even get close to the river, let alone fish.

He didn’t have the energy for that right now.

Besides, the three fishing spots he had discovered were enough for him now.

What he should consider now was which fishing spot to go fishing at.

After pondering for a while, Lu Qing finally decided to go fishing at the spot he had discovered at the beginning.

The reason was simple.

According to the description in the note given by his supernatural power, small fish mostly gathered at the bottom of that fishing spot.

The fishing rod Lu Qing made was just a simple one.

He didn’t know if the hemp rope was tough enough and how much tension it could withstand.

If he rashly went to catch a big fish and the line broke, he would have a lot of tears.

After all, the remaining hemp ropes at home could not make many qualified fishing lines.

More importantly, he only had one hook. If he lost it, he would really be unable to catch the fish.

So it was safer to go fishing for small fish first.

After making up his mind, Lu Qing started his return journey. When he returned to the big tree, he found that the kids were waiting obediently. He nodded with satisfaction.

In reality, Lu Qing hadn’t wandered far, staying within sight of the little kids, afraid that the mischievous ones would wander off when they couldn’t see him.

“Brother, you’re back!”

Xiaoyan was the first to happily greet Lu Qing upon his return.

“Yeah, I’m back.”

“Have you chosen where you want to fish?”

“Yes, let’s go now.”

Hearing Lu Qing say they had decided on a spot, the little kids perked up. The more

astute ones stepped forward to help carry the buckets: “Brother Lu Qing, I’ll help you!”

Lu Qing didn’t refuse. The oldest of these little kids was eleven or twelve, the youngest eight or nine, full of energy, so it would be good to let them expend some energy.

The group soon arrived at the fishing spot Lu Qing had chosen.

“Just stay up here and watch me fishing. Don’t get too close to the river. Ah Hu, you’re the oldest, so help keep an eye on them.”

Ah Hu was the oldest of the little kids.

Twelve years old is already at the age of understanding.

“I know, Brother Lu Qing!”

Seeing that the little kids all responded obediently, Lu Qing nodded with satisfaction, took the fishing rod and wooden bucket, and walked towards the fishing spot at the bottom of the slope. Is

there any brother reading this? Please give me a recommendation vote.
