Chapter 117.1
Chapter 117.1
What a quick-witted dad.
“M-Manipulated?”
“Yes, there’s no way I could’ve brought an outside to my daughter’s side, right?”
“Is that so?”
Hesitating in embarrassment, I shook my head.
‘I don’t need to panic! It’s not my fault!’
Even though I was the victim, all Sylvie was doing was sleeping without a care in the world. It was all Sylvie’s fault! Why should I be ashamed and embarrassed?
“Ha…”
“Huh? A sigh all of a sudden?”
“No, it’s just, suddenly everything is futile.”
“Futile? Where did you learn to say that? My daughter is too smart.”
Dad’s face, who had been looking at Sylvie and I alternately in doubt, gradually brightened.
“Smart?”
“You must be a genius.”
“Ahem, sure, I’m a genius.”
“Of course, it’s my daughter. Come to think of it, I grew up hearing that my father was a genius since I was young…”
Suddenly, my father spoke about his childhood and it got boring.”
“I mean, what was my father like when I was a kid?”
“Your father…”
“Huh?”
“But what about Mom?”
Only then did my father, who was about to start a boring story, raise his mouth and point to the door with his hand.
“Oh, she slept in my room last night.”
“Did you have a good night?”
“G-Good night…!”
I nodded my head at the sight of my father strangely exclaiming since I just simply asked.
“Why are you so surprised?”
“No, I was never surprised. Daddy is a strong and wonderful person, so…”
“Ah! That’s why you’re surprised.”
“What?”
I clapped my hands and looked at my dad seriously. However, my father’s face, who had reacted immediately to my words, turned pale.
“It wasn’t as good a night as I thought it would be. That’s why!”
“Uh, huh?”
Dad’s complexion repeatedly darkened, then brightened like night and day. I tilted my head.
“No?”
“I must’ve misunderstood, Bebe.”
“Misunderstand?”
“It was a very good night. We got to know each other’s feelings, and…”
“And?”
Dad, who normally spoke well, was somewhat strange. Should I say that his face turned red?
I wondered what he was thinking, so I stared at my dad. Then, my dad put his hand on my head.
“Anyway… Bebe, if you have any difficulties, you can always tell Dad.”
I shook my head at those sudden words.
“Difficulties?”
“Yes, whatever it is, if you’re having a hard time…”
Contrary to what I expected, which was for Dad to say more, he patted my head softly and said nothing.
Dad just said what he had to say and left at that. Not long after, my mom came in.
“Bebe.”
My mom, who came in, looked tired, as if she was worried about me all night. She sat down in front of me and held my hand tightly.
“Are you alright now?”
“Huh?”
“Yesterday… no, I’m glad you look happier now.”
My mom’s soft hands stroked my hand. The touch made me giggle.
“Yes! Is Mom okay? You look tired!”
“Well, that’s good then. I had a good time because Bebe kicked out Mom and Dad.”
“But why do you look tired?”
They both said they had a good time, so I don’t understand why they looked so tired.
Meanwhile, my mother, whose face was as red as my father’s, patted Sylvie, who was next to me.
Then, she brought a blanket and pillow and adjusted his posture so both of us could be comfortable.
“Bebe looks more tired than Mom. Why don’t you take a nap?”
“Should I?”
I was a little sleepy because I overworked myself to take care of Sylvie all night.
“Yes. I’ll be here, so go to bed.”
“Okay!”
After looking at Sylvie leaning on me for a while, I suddenly fell asleep.
I fell asleep and woke up again after the world had gone dark. I was sitting on the sofa before, but before I knew it, I was lying on the bed and Sylvie was sleeping at a distance from me.
But night had come and my mother was nowhere to be seen.
I slowly got up from my seat, turned my head and found my mom.
Mom was sitting by the window. However, the atmosphere was different than usual.
The moonlight was coming in from outside the window, and thanks to it, my mother looked unusually sad.
The big moon made my mom’s blonde hair sparkle more. It glimmered like starlight. Byt my mother cried as she held something in her arms.
“Ha…”
I was about to run, but I couldn’t move, so I moved my gaze to look at my mother.
“What a cruel, cruel god…”
My heart sank at the sound of my mother’s particularly sad voice.
I thought that it would be full of happy things.
