Chapter 43: The Dead Return

Zhao Daonan sat withered atop the city wall.

Nearly half of Red Fox Town was already a sea of fire, dyeing half the sky red.

Fanned by the wind, the flames blazed fiercely through the houses, and panicked cries filled the town.

But a mere two or three hundred bandits were far too few compared to Red Fox Town's population of nearly thirty thousand.

Even though the fire had swept through nearly half the town, the actual number of casualties was not severe.

Zhao Daonan watched, growing impatient.

Too slow!

'Killing so few people barely makes a scratch!'

'So Du Chaozhen isn't coming? Fine! Even if he does, I'll make him regret it!'

He thought of his annihilated clansmen, of the twisted, hateful expressions on their faces in death.

His heart flooded with killing intent. With a wave of his hand, a rain of fire materialized above Red Fox Town and descended upon the crowds below.

In an instant, large swaths of people were consumed by the sea of flames.
