Volume 4, Chapter 1-3 – Vivian, Aren’t You Playing Way Too Wild?
“Alright, we’re here.”
Gehenna stopped at the training ground.
Stella saw that someone was already standing in the center of the empty field.
A black robe, meticulously arranged hair, and an expression so gloomy it looked as though everyone in the world owed her a million.
It was Vice Principal Katerina.
Stella’s footsteps paused.
Katerina heard them approaching and looked over.
The instant her gaze met Stella’s, she immediately gave a snort, then promptly turned her head away and refused to look at Stella.
Stella: “…”
Stella was already getting somewhat used to Katerina’s standard greeting.
Gehenna, on the other hand, wasn’t surprised in the slightest. She rose onto her toes and patted the Vice Principal on the shoulder.
“Don’t be like that, my Vice Principal.”
“I just happened to be passing by.”
“So you just happened to be passing by.” Gehenna spoke teasingly. “Anyone who didn’t know better might think that after hearing Stella was going to participate in the Abyss Supremacy Tournament as the Valentine heir, you rushed over to find me in a panic and volunteered to help. Then, when I wasn’t planning to agree at first, you even tried to camp out in the Principal’s office until I gave in, and in the end had no choice but to join entirely for free.”
“…Seriously?”
Stella instinctively looked at Katerina.
Katerina’s profile showed no visible expression beneath the moonlight, but the tips of her ears had clearly turned a little red.
Then she abruptly turned her head and glared hard at Gehenna.
“Can you shut up?”
Gehenna shrugged, looking completely innocent.
“Anyway, throughout the entire preparation period for the tournament.” Gehenna continued, showing absolutely no concern for the Vice Principal’s dignity. “Katerina will be fully responsible for your instruction and training.”
Katerina closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
“I hope…” She paused. “That you can give me a little surprise today too.”
Her tone was as cold as ever, but Stella heard something else in it.
‘Is that… worry?’
Stella wasn’t quite sure.
Gehenna walked between the two of them and stopped, casually taking the birdcage from Stella’s hand and passing it to Katerina.
“Alright, enough idle talk.” She looked at Stella. “Your shadow is very interesting. Its form is filled with malice. It isn’t merely shadow magic.”
Stella nodded.
Gehenna had said that before.
“And the way you’re using it now is far too crude.” Gehenna continued. “You’re only letting it bite and tear on instinct instead of actually controlling its power. It’s honestly painful to watch.”
Stella stood where she was, feeling as though she had just been scolded again.
“I can sense it even now.” Gehenna pointed at the black shadow beneath Stella’s feet. “There is another kind of power hidden inside your shadow. It isn’t merely a ‘weapon’. It has its own nature, its own true form.”
She paused.

“Feel it with your heart.”
“Try to reproduce it.”
Katerina stood three meters away with her arms crossed.
The gazes of both professors converged on Stella at the same time.
Stella lowered her eyes.
The shadow lay quietly curled behind her heels like an obedient pet.
But Stella knew its obedience was nothing more than an appearance.
Stella closed her eyes.
Its hidden nature?
Its true form?
Reproduce it?
But…
Wasn’t the only power hidden inside the blood shadows Lavinia, whom they had just swallowed whole in the dark forest?
Dark-golden scales, broad fleshy wings, golden vertical pupils.
Lavinia Samael.
Stella’s eyes snapped open.
She thought she understood what Gehenna meant by the power hidden within.
Could it be…
Gehenna wanted her to reproduce the Nexus Council’s Observer that her blood shadows had just eaten, right in front of her?
Stella instinctively calculated the consequences.
What would happen if Principal Gehenna found out that the best disciple she took such pride in had somehow swallowed Lilith School’s new faculty member alive within the span of just a few Watches?
Stella shuddered.
Lavinia wasn’t merely an ordinary faculty member either.
She was an Observer sent by the Nexus Council, a hound of the Samael family, and a higher dragon demon.
And now, the once-imposing Observer was being digested bit by bit inside Stella’s blood shadows.
The upcoming Abyss Supremacy Tournament would have her running all over the Abyss.
If Gehenna learned that the culprit behind Lavinia’s disappearance was standing right in front of her, she’d probably want to keep Stella under watch seven Watches a day.
She might even find an iron chain and, together with Vice Principal Katerina, tie Stella to the leg of the office desk and only let her out when absolutely necessary.
Stella secretly glanced at the two people in front of her.
Gehenna’s gaze was filled with encouraging expectation.
Katerina stood with her arms crossed, wearing an indifferent expression as though she had nothing better to do. Meanwhile, the long-tailed owl in her hand had its beak hanging open, its round eyes rolled halfway back as usual, looking utterly hopeless after losing its freedom.
Stella quickly realized she had backed herself into a corner.
Two of the highest-ranking educators in the Abyss were staring intently at her.
No matter what, as their student, Stella had to put on some kind of performance for the two of them today.

Stella closed her eyes and sank her attention into the blood shadows beneath her feet, probing the mass of essence that belonged to Lavinia.
Deep within the blood shadows, she quickly sensed Lavinia’s essence.
It wasn’t simply being stored inside the shadow.
The blood shadows were slowly dismantling and melting the latent power within that essence, then allowing it to seep into the bloodline Stella already possessed.
It felt oddly familiar.
In fact, it was very similar to the process by which she had taken the power of Mia, Lord of Blood, in the Corridor of Blood.
The greatest difference was that she could actively regulate the power of the essence.
Although Stella had already fused with a small portion of Lavinia’s essence, she could now clearly sense that she could actively choose whether to activate the portion of latent essence that had already merged with her.
“Very good.” Gehenna nodded in satisfaction. “Maintain your current state.”
“You’ve already touched it. Now, try to establish a spiritual bridge with the power hidden inside your shadow and guide it out.”
A spiritual bridge?
Stella hesitated.
There was indeed a chance she would expose the bad thing she’d done, but the upcoming Abyss Supremacy Tournament was going to make her suffer horribly. Hydras, rampaging bone boars, hellhounds.
There was no reason not to use power she already had.
Stella silently drew a cross over her chest in her heart.
‘Praise be to you, my Lord.’
‘Please don’t let Gehenna and Katerina actually notice anything strange.’
For a Saintess, having the story spread that she had eaten a faculty member of a succubus school alive would be far too terrifying.
Stella extended her perception toward Lavinia’s essence.
The spiritual bridge formed.
Boom.
Stella opened her eyes.
‘…Something is wrong.’
Dark-golden magical power slowly flowed through her veins, carrying the violent aura unique to dragon demons. It surged through her blood vessels like a river that had burst its banks, filled with emotional residue that did not belong to her at all.
Anger.
Resentment.
An extremely intense disgust.
They were Lavinia’s obsessions at the moment of death.
They lashed back against Stella’s body, trying to contaminate that pure light, trying to disturb the darkness that had already begun to settle into calm. Lavinia’s obsession seemed determined to drag Stella down with her even in death.
But…
The sanctity did not yield, and neither did the Abyss.
They reacted almost simultaneously, like two peerless masters locked in a standoff who suddenly discovered some suicidal clown had barged onto their battlefield.
In that instant, they turned their weapons around and joined forces.

Lavinia’s final obsession didn’t even have time to let out a scream before two completely opposite powers crushed it at the same time.
The anger was purified by Holy Light.
The resentment was burned away by embers.
The disgust was devoured by the Abyss.
All in the span of a single instant.
Unable to endure it, Stella dropped to her knees.
“Stella!”
There was unmistakable worry in Katerina’s voice.
She instinctively moved to rush forward.
But Gehenna stopped her.
“Don’t move,” Gehenna said calmly. “This is the critical moment. Don’t disturb her.”
“The critical moment?”
Katerina stopped.
Gehenna remained where she was, watching Stella with eager anticipation.
“…?”
Then Gehenna became a little dumbfounded.
She watched Stella’s horns begin to grow right before her eyes.
They weren’t the elegant backward curves of a succubus’s horns, but a completely different shape.
Rougher, more vicious, almost like…
‘Dragon horns?’
‘No, not almost.’
‘They are dragon horns.’
Gehenna’s eyes widened.
And that didn’t seem to be all.
The framework of Stella’s bat wings rapidly expanded. A layer of fine dark-golden scales spread across the wing membranes, while her succubus tail, which ended in a heart-shaped tip, rapidly thickened as magical power poured into it.
Scales spread across it.
Bone spikes protruded.
It transformed completely into a thick, powerful dragon tail.
Gehenna froze where she stood.
As the heir of the Valentine family and the Pale Lord’s illegitimate daughter, Stella’s bloodline potential was indeed terrifying.
Gehenna had considered the possibility that Stella might awaken some new power.
Perhaps she would awaken some kind of high-level blood-thorn form like Cheryl, or at the very least undergo a massive leap in the total amount of magical power she possessed.
But Gehenna had never imagined that Stella would undergo this kind of transformation.
A dragon?
Rеαԁ oո КαtRеаⅾіոɡCafe
The bloodline of a dragon demon?
A dragon succubus?
‘…How is that possible?’
‘How could such a bizarre student even have been born!?’
Gehenna’s mind descended into chaos.
Her prized disciple, the heir of the Valentine family, the daughter of the Pale Lord.
How could Stella possess the bloodline traits of the Samael family?
And with no small degree of purity at that.
“This…”
Katerina was dumbfounded too.
She stood frozen in place, nearly dropping the birdcage in her hand.
Even the long-tailed owl inside the cage seemed stunned by the scene before it. Its tiny, hopeless eyes actually opened a little wider for once.
“Vivian Valentine…”
Katerina’s voice carried an indescribably complicated emotion.
She knew that Vivian Valentine had been an especially wild succubus in the past, with an extremely chaotic private life.
Decades ago, she had even gotten involved with the Pale Lord and given birth to a Daughter of Ashes.
Katerina had known about that for a long time.
‘But how could Stella, the Pale Lord’s illegitimate daughter, suddenly display the bloodline of the Samael family’s dragon demons?!’
‘What is going on now?’
‘Succubus, Pale, dragon?’
‘Is she some kind of three-family kebab?!’
Katerina and Gehenna looked at each other.
The tall one and the short one wore exactly the same expression.
Shock.
Confusion.
And a certain indescribable… awkwardness.
‘Vivian…’
‘Aren’t you playing way too wild?’
