Volume 1, Chapter 26 – A Human Slave?
Volume 1, Chapter 26 – A Human Slave?
Seeing her former colleague looking so eager to die, Stella felt a massive headache coming on.
‘Hey, pull yourself together!’
‘What about your willpower? Where’s the willpower you’re supposed to have as a member of the clergy?’
‘How are you already begging for death? At least hold out a little longer. Curse the heretics a few times or something!’
‘The psychological fortitude of this batch of nuns is way too terrible, isn’t it?’
‘This situation is completely outside my plans!’
‘Lord…’
‘I really hadn’t done it on purpose.’
Though she was frantically repenting inside, she still had to keep up the act.
Stella released her hand, took a handkerchief from her clothes, and leisurely wiped her fingers before casually tossing it onto the limp nun.
“Professor.” Stella turned around to face Professor Katerina. “Can I have the highest score now?”
“The highest score?” Professor Katerina let out a meaningful scoff. “Do you know what you just did, Miss Darkfallen?”
Stella’s heart skipped a beat as an ominous premonition welled up inside her.
“Just a simple practical exercise in mind control.” She maintained her expressionless face and gave the explanation she had prepared in advance. “Vice Principal Mara’s textbook mentioned the theory of destroying a person’s will. I merely put it into practice…”
“Mind control? Borrowing theory?” Katerina interrupted her as though she had just heard some kind of joke. “Don’t lump me together with Mara, that succubus who only knows how to toy around with seduction arts. What you just did was directly erase a sacred blessing.”
The professor leaned forward and abruptly lowered her voice.
“Unbelievable… If I weren’t so learned, you might actually have fooled me. As far as I can tell, there is only one explanation for a technique capable of making sacred power vanish into thin air in an instant.”

Stella started to panic.
“I don’t understand what you’re saying, Professor.” She spoke quietly, with just the right trace of confusion in her voice.
Had Katerina noticed the shared nature of her Holy Art?
Holy Radiance Extraction was, after all, a technique that operated through Holy Light. It wasn’t as well concealed as Holy Art Counter had been before.
For an old witch of Katerina’s caliber, noticing something unusual wasn’t impossible…
If her identity as a Saintess was exposed here, she really was finished.
“You don’t understand? Tsk, tsk. It seems our genius Miss wants to test me.” Katerina straightened up and swept her gaze across the entire class. “Then, everyone present, who can explain to our genius Miss exactly what method she just used?”
Swish.
Almost the instant her words fell, Remedios’ hand shot high into the air.
“Miss Bledia.” Professor Katerina nodded in satisfaction. “Explain it for us.”
‘I’m finished…’
As a Hundredfold Wisdom succubus, Remedios was practically a walking encyclopedia. Who knew how many books she’d read?
Remedios stood perfectly straight, her voice clear.
“It’s a bloodline talent, Professor.”
“???”
Stella was stunned.

“That’s right.”
Remedios spoke with complete certainty.
“Unlike lower succubi, who can only rely on charm spells and mental magic, higher succubi with highly pure ancient bloodlines often awaken unique racial talents.”
“These talents require no incantations or construction of spell structures. They’re as natural as breathing.”
She pointed at the human nun who had completely collapsed in on herself.
“There are no traces of magical fluctuations left behind, nor any signs of erosion by dark elements.”
“That means the sacred blessing wasn’t broken. It simply disappeared.”
She turned her head and gave Stella a deep look.
“This also means that Stella’s bloodline talent possesses an exceedingly rare anti-holy nature. With a talent like that, no wonder she was unwilling to reveal it so easily.”
Remedios gave Stella another deep look, her eyes filled with awe.
“Stella, your family lineage is probably even darker and more ancient than we imagined.”
‘To possess a talent of this level… Stella, no, you are destined to be far more than merely an outstanding student.’
‘I might be witnessing the birth of an Archsuccubus whose name would one day be recorded in the school’s history.’
Stella looked at the hand that had just cast a Holy Art, then at Remedios’ admiring face, and for a moment had no idea what to say.
‘Um… good sister, I’m really grateful that you helped cover for me, but could you please stop looking at me like that?’
‘This is seriously embarrassing.’

“Miss Bledia’s answer was perfect. Three extra points.” Katerina nodded. “There is no doubt that this is a higher bloodline. According to legend, certain higher species possessing ancient chaotic bloodlines are born with anti-holy constitutions.”
“It’s just… there weren’t many observable effects. I suspect that’s because it hasn’t fully awakened yet.”
“I’ve always had doubts about Vice Principal Mara’s judgment. I thought this so-called SSS+ genius was nothing more than a useless fraud who borrowed others’ prestige and had nothing of her own.” Katerina spoke slowly. “But I believe I was wrong. Congratulations, Miss Darkfallen. You’ve earned the highest score in today’s class.”
She got away with it.
Without letting anything show on her face, Stella quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
The entire process had gone wrong, but the result… could barely be considered good, right?
“Oh, right. I said earlier that whoever earned the highest score would receive a special reward.” Katerina turned around and pointed at the nun on the display platform. “Therefore, our outstanding student will receive the right to decide what happens to the teaching aid afterward.”
Katerina removed the collar and chain from around the nun’s neck, then handed the cold metal chain to Stella.
“Take it, outstanding student.”
“…She’s mine?”
Stella had heard the words, but understood none of them.
“Starting today, she is your personal slave. I’ll have the guards deliver her to your room.”
The professor said casually.
“Whether you use her as a servant, a toy to vent your desires on, or reserve rations for when you’re hungry… Of course, if you’re not interested, you can also give her to another student. Do whatever you want with her. This is the reward an outstanding student deserves.”
“…Huh?”
Stella went blank.

The nun on the display platform also shuddered violently. She raised her head and stared in despair at the silver-haired, violet-eyed succubus before her.
To her, this was without question fate’s cruelest sentence. Compared to being executed, falling into the hands of this succubus meant that what awaited her would undoubtedly be torture even more terrifying than hell.
Meanwhile, Stella, standing opposite her, stared at the chain in her hand and fell silent. She lowered her eyes toward the nun curled into a ball from fear, then looked at the succubus classmates around her, all wearing expressions of envy that she got to enjoy such a high-grade toy all by herself.
‘What are you all jealous of?!’
‘What am I supposed to do with an actual living person?!’
Expressionless, Stella tilted her head upward, attempting once again to escape reality.
At this moment, she finally became certain of one thing.
This school really was trying to play her to death.
Third day of her career as a spy.
Saintess Stella von Einzbern acquired her first human slave.
Translator Note
HAHAHAH A slave obtained!
Will she reveal her secret? Or just let that slave keep the misunderstanding? xD
