Chapter 108: Chapter 108: I’m So Glad You Came

Yun Chi struggled to lift his head, his eyes bright as he tried to practice speaking. "Hiss... Mama."

Just as Feng Si was about to praise her little cub’s lovely voice, the robotic butler F22’s voice suddenly sounded from outside the bedroom door again. "Master, a distinguished guest has come to visit."

The upward curve of Feng Si’s lips froze.

’Again? Is that Feng Lian ever going to quit?’

She arched an eyebrow, her dark pupils turning pitch-black as the smile from a moment ago vanished from her face.

Sensing Feng Si’s irritation, the little Chi lowered his brow, his own expression turning murderous as he glared daggers at the door.

He twisted his little body and fiercely started to crawl off the bed, forgetting all about hiding himself. He just wanted to drive away whoever was annoying his mama.

Seeing this, Feng Si bent down, scooped up Yun Duo, and tucked him into her pocket.

She pressed a finger on the gently struggling little form, her tone gentle as she spoke to the cub. "Leave this kind of thing to Mama."

’Let’s just see what else Feng Lian has in store.’

When she went downstairs and opened the door, an unfamiliar female was standing outside.

The woman had a medium build and wore a vibrant red dress that made her brown hair and face seem full of life. She was about half a head shorter than Feng Si.

When she saw Feng Si standing inside the doorway, her eyes widened in admiration. A moment later, a smile flickered across her face, and she smoothed a strand of hair that had fallen over her chest.

"My name is Bo Rongrong, and I live right next door in building F21." Bo Rongrong looked at Feng Si, her voice filled with excitement. "So we’re neighbors now!"

’Even though we’re separated by two courtyards, two flowerbeds, and a lawn, this latecomer with the black hair means I’m not living all alone on the edge of the island anymore!’

’She seems so easy to get along with,’ Bo Rongrong thought to herself. ’And since she lives in the same area as me, her fertility must be similar to mine—low-level. Maybe we could be friends.’

Feng Si gave a slight nod and smiled. "Hello, I’m Feng Si."

’So this is my next-door neighbor.’

Yun Chi stayed in Feng Si’s pocket, trying to find a way out. His little claws hooked between his mama’s fingers, but he kept his sharp black claw tips retracted, not daring to use too much force.

Yun Chi knew his mama didn’t have scales for protection and could be easily hurt.

He could only curl his little paws and squeeze his way out. After much effort, he managed to poke his little head out from between her soft, slender fingers, only to sense a shift in his mama’s aura.

Confusion filled his golden eyes as he tilted his head.

Hearing Feng Si’s reply, Bo Rongrong’s smile widened. "I was the only one living in this area before. The river looks so scary at night. I’ve been here for two months, and you’re the first new person I’ve seen move in."

Feng Si wasn’t picky about her living situation, but she did want to learn more about the area. Seizing the opportunity, she stepped aside and offered an invitation. "What a coincidence. Would you like to come in for a bit?"

Bo Rongrong happily followed Feng Si into the living room and sat on the sofa. "I’m a low-level female. I heard they assign housing here from top to bottom based on fertility, which is why I was put in this villa."

Feng Si nodded and went to the dining table to prepare refreshments for her guest. She added honey to a glass of warm water and brought it over with a plate of fresh fruit.

Bo Rongrong’s eyes followed Feng Si. After thanking her for the refreshments, she immediately started talking again. "But there is one good thing about living out here! It’s quiet, and no one bothers you."

She took a sip of water, then lifted her wrist and tapped it.

A balance was displayed: 6,231,230.00

’I can’t believe the Empire just gives you coins for coming here. It’s more than all the spending money I’ve saved up over the years.’

Bo Rongrong turned and asked, "I have no idea where to spend the five million coins the Empire gave me. You too, right?"

Feng Si: "..."

’Who flashes their account balance at someone they’ve just met?’

For a moment, she was at a loss for words. But she held to the principle of letting others do the talking to gather information—the more they say, the more they might let slip.

Feng Si just shook her head honestly. She hadn’t received any such benefit.

Hearing this, Bo Rongrong looked at Feng Si with a hint of pity.

The young woman wore a simple set of loose-fitting trousers and a long-sleeved top. The fabric revealed the delicate line of her shoulders next to her pale neck. Her long, slightly wavy black hair cascaded down her back, and she wore no accessories from head to toe.

She sat there, her skin as clear and white as jade, her beautiful obsidian eyes gazing over quietly. She seemed as innocent and naive as a cub that had just come of age.

Bo Rongrong touched the ruby hairpin in her hair. The ruby-encrusted Gold bracelet on her wrist made a crisp JINGLE. Her heart filled with even more pity.

She set down her glass of water, took a deep breath, and said, "It’s okay! Do you want to go out and look around with me? If you see something you want to buy and don’t have the coins, I can front you the money. You can just pay me back later when you have some."

’I like her so much, I should help her if I can.’

Feng Si’s finger brushed against the now-still Yun Duo in her pocket. The little one reflexively nudged her finger with his head.

She paused for a few seconds, then asked, "Can we really go wander anywhere?"

At her question, Bo Rongrong looked a little sheepish. She glanced at her own balance and said, "Well, obviously we can’t go to super expensive places... like Brahma Heaven Paradise or the Beast Fighting Arena."

Feng Si considered the place she wanted to go. It probably wasn’t a high-end establishment.

’My space is still too small. I really need to collect some Dust Breath to expand it.’

The temperature here was perfect, and the wilds outside were covered in plants.

’Pantian City should have gathering zones, right? It would be great to have someone who knows the way.’

Feng Si rose from the sofa. Her eyes curved into crescents as she smiled at Bo Rongrong and said gratefully, "I just arrived and don’t know anything about Pantian City. It’s wonderful that you’re willing to show me around. Thank you so much! Let’s head out now."

Before leaving, she had to prepare: a heat-resistant cloak, as well as water and food for the trip—three portions of each.

In her pocket, Yun Chi was already fast asleep, using his own tail as a pillow.

"I have coins for this trip! You don’t need to pack all that. Pantian City is a bustling place; you can buy anything you need..." Bo Rongrong watched Feng Si pack a water flask into a basket and was finally unable to hold back her disbelief.

"You really don’t need to bring water and food from home."

’Oh my god... bringing her own food in a city where you can buy anything... how pitiful...’ Bo Rongrong’s heart ached even more for Feng Si, who she imagined must have come from some backwater forest.

Feng Si calmly continued to arrange three water flasks and three boxes of seared meat cutlets and fruit neatly in her basket. She lifted it and found the weight manageable.

Feng Si turned to the speechless Bo Rongrong. "Because what if there are no shops where we’re going?"
