Chapter 118: A Fate Worse Than Death

Chapter 118: Chapter 118: A Fate Worse Than Death

To avoid panicking the females, Ying Kong made a public announcement: Hu Ya had attempted to assassinate a female and would be sent to the Sinful Female Island.

An uproar erupted among the females. When they heard the name "Sinful Female Island," fear flashed in their usually proud eyes.

The Sinful Female Island.

As its name implied, it was a place where females who had committed crimes were imprisoned.

However, because females were so precious to male beasts, even those who committed crimes weren’t executed. Instead, they were taken to the island to be kept under guard.

Females who entered the island had no freedom. They were confined to their rooms and forced to provide pheromones daily, treated like penned-up female beasts. It was a terrifying fate.

The young females all knew that for them, going to that place was a fate worse than death.

In the crowd, Feng Lian’s heart pounded with fear, yet she couldn’t help but feel a sense of relief.

’Thankfully, I only instigated things with a few casual remarks. I didn’t order Hu Ya to do anything else. Even if Hu Ya is interrogated, they won’t be able to pin the blame on me so easily.’

’At most, I’ll be brought in for questioning. A lot of the females here know Hu Ya. They can’t possibly arrest every single one of us, can they?’

Feng Lian mulled it over and buried her face in Feng Lun’s shoulder. A vicious glint flashed in her eyes.

’If you have to blame someone, Hu Ya, blame yourself for being so stupid. Who told you to start hating someone so deeply after just a few words?~’

...

Lord Ying Kong arrived as quickly as he departed.

Hu Fei, for her part, never expected to receive a personal order from Lord Ying Kong herself.

’What a tremendous honor.’

Hu Fei was thrilled. She took the F22 robot that Lord Ying Kong had personally delivered, reasoning that while Lady Feng Si would need to rest after taking her medicine, she would also need someone to look after her.

Around lunchtime, she headed to Lady Feng Si’s residence to return her robot butler.

’I heard this F22 had broken down, and Lady Feng Si had spent two hundred thousand coins to buy it and get it repaired.’

’It was truly unheard of.’

’Most ladies don’t even care about the lives of sub-females, let alone a free cleaning robot. She really is a kind of gentle female I’ve never seen before.’

With these thoughts, Hu Fei, who was developing a fond impression of Feng Si, arrived at her room and rang the doorbell.

DING-DONG~

After ringing and waiting for a long time with no response from inside, Hu Fei suddenly thought, ’Did something happen to her?’

The moment the thought occurred to her, she threw etiquette to the wind, immediately ordering the F22 to open the door and rushing inside.

Inside.

Feng Si was already much better.

’As expected of a potion personally concocted by the Great Sacrificial Rite. A single small vial was enough to completely banish the exhaustion from my body within a few hours.’

’Now, I feel like I’m back in action.’

And so, Feng Si was now in the kitchen making lunch for herself and her cub. She had taken some new wheat, hulled it with a rod, and was now cooking a porridge of wheat, minced meat, and greens.

As always, she first blended the cub’s portion into a paste. The whirring of the blender’s blades was so loud that she didn’t hear the commotion outside. Yun Chi, draped over his mother’s shoulder, propped himself up, his eyes glued to his mother’s hand as she scooped the wheat paste.

His mother had said this was new wheat, and that it would be sweet and delicious when mixed with yummy meat~

Yun Chi trusted his mother more than anyone. Hearing her words, he was instantly filled with anticipation—and ambition—for the meal before him.

He gestured with his little claws, drawing a large circle in front of his chest. Yun Chi let out a soft HISS, as if to say, ’Yun Chi wants a portion this big!’

This made Feng Si chuckle. She tilted her head, dotingly pressing her cheek against the little one.

’I don’t know how the little one was clever enough to find his father and bring him here earlier... Perhaps it was some kind of psychic link between father and son?’

But now that she had recovered, Feng Si didn’t know how she was going to face Chi Jie after he had helped her. So, she chose to procrastinate and put it out of her mind.

’And I have to say, procrastination might be shameful, but it’s very effective.’

’At least my heart isn’t racing, and my thoughts aren’t a mess anymore.’

’I’m even planning to get back to the grind tomorrow. That wheat has a seriously high yield. To expand my space, I am definitely going back!’

Feng Si’s mind turned to what she needed to do in the future.

’First, I’ll buy a hover car and some burlap sacks. Then... that thing I said to Chi Jie in a panic the other day about hiring him... that gave me an idea.’

’I’m going to hire a team of bodyguards to stand guard in the valley while I harvest the wheat...’

"Lady Feng Si! Are you all right?"

Hu Fei’s voice preceded her. She came running in anxiously, only to freeze in her tracks when she saw Feng Si, dressed in casual clothes and holding a pair of bowls.

Without batting an eye, Feng Si pulled her jacket up, buttoning it to her chin to hide the cub. With her thick, dark hair cascading around her, she revealed a pair of dazzling, captivating eyes, like a sky full of stars.

It was just that her noble aura was inexplicably at odds with the fact that she was holding a bowl in each hand.

Hu Fei blinked, snapping back to reality and bowing immediately. "I’m so sorry, Lady Feng Si. You didn’t answer the doorbell for a long time, and I was so worried that I had the F22 override the door’s security."

Feng Si always met kindness with kindness. She glanced at the robot standing behind Hu Fei. "It’s all right. Thank you for worrying about me, and for bringing the F22 back."

"No, you don’t need to thank me." Hu Fei breathed an inward sigh of relief. Her eyes fell on the bowls in Feng Si’s hands, and she reflexively reached out to take them.

"Let me get those. This porridge you’ve prepared smells wonderful."

Feng Si sidestepped her hand and walked toward the dining room. The wheat and meat porridge still needed to cool a bit. Seeing she had a moment, she asked curiously, "It was a little noisy outside earlier. What happened?"

At her question, Hu Fei touched her chest, still shaken. "Lady Hu Ya was arrested by Lord Ying Kong and sent to the Sinful Female Island for trying to harm some other female. I just can’t believe it... She’s a High-level Female."

’Hm? Wasn’t she one of the ones who cornered Bo Rongrong the other day?’

Feng Si raised an eyebrow. "They only took Hu Ya?"

"Huh?" Hu Fei paused, taken aback.

’Why does this black-haired female suddenly seem so hard to approach?’

’She’s talking about a precious female as if she were a sub-female who got taken away. There’s a hint of contempt for Lady Hu Ya in her tone.’

Hu Fei nodded. "Y-Yes, that’s right?"

Feng Si paid little mind to the fear in Hu Fei’s eyes. Without another word, she had the F22 see her guest out.

She sat at the dining table, the crystal chandelier shining down on her. Her raven-black eyelashes cast shadows under her eyes, and her entire demeanor turned cold and unapproachable.

Clearly, she was not satisfied with the fate of this scapegoat.

The dining room was bright and airy. Motes of dust, invisible to the naked eye, floated silently in the lamplight.

Yun Chi let out a babyish, "Hiss?" *Mommy?*

Snapping out of her silence, Feng Si turned to her cub, not a trace of gloom left on her face. She smiled brightly. "Here, sweetie. It’s time to eat."
