Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 16 – The Wonderful Uses of Molotov Cocktails
Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 16 – The Wonderful Uses of Molotov Cocktails
Lin Fan and Zhou Ming pulled the camp wagon to the crossroads.
Seven or eight zombies staggered after them.
Lin Fan let go of the handle and took a lighter from her backpack.
Her fingertips brushed against the cold metal surface as she pondered how to wipe out all these zombies in one go.
“Ming-ge, go smash that car over there.”
She pointed to a red sedan parked on the east side of the intersection, her sweet voice laced with a commanding tone.
“The louder, the better.”
Zhou Ming nodded, gripped his combat shovel, and ran over.
Lin Fan, meanwhile, pulled a Molotov cocktail from the side pocket of her backpack.
The white cloth strip was already soaked in alcohol, emitting a pungent smell.
She stared at the transparent bottle in her hand, a sense of thrill surging within her.
Clang!
Zhou Ming smashed the car window hard with his combat shovel.
The glass shattered on impact, cracking into a spiderweb pattern.
The car’s anti-theft alarm immediately went off.
A piercing blare echoed through the empty streets.
In less than a minute, nearby zombies were drawn over.
Five, ten, fifteen.
Lin Fan’s eyes widened.
Far more than she had expected!
From the shadows on both sides of the street, more staggering figures were emerging.
“Ming-ge, get back here, quick!”
Her voice carried just the right amount of panic, but her eyes glinted with excitement.
Hearing her shout, Zhou Ming immediately turned and ran back.
The horde of zombies gathered around the red sedan, where the alarm was loudest.
They squeezed together, scrambling to pounce on the car.
Some slammed their heads against the car doors, making dull thuds.
Others clambered directly onto the hood, their nails scraping against the metal surface with a screech.
Now was the perfect time.

Lin Fan lit the cloth strip, and an orange-red flame instantly shot up.
She hurled the Molotov cocktail with all her might.
The glass bottle traced a graceful arc through the air.
Smash!
The bottle exploded in the center of the horde of zombies.
Alcohol splashed everywhere in an instant.
The flames spread rapidly, engulfing the entire horde.
The zombies’ clothes caught fire, crackling loudly.
They struggled and roared in the fire, yet they had no instinct to flee.
They just mechanically continued to lunge at the car, becoming moving torches.
The fire burned more and more intensely.
The air filled with the acrid, nauseating stench of burning protein.
In less than three minutes, all dozen or so zombies had been burned to charcoal.
Blackened remains were scattered on the ground, still emitting wisps of green smoke.
“My God, that effect…”
Zhou Ming was dumbfounded, his voice trembling with excitement.
Lin Fan was also stunned by the Molotov cocktail’s effectiveness.
She had originally thought it would take several to deal with so many zombies.
She never expected one would be enough.
Fire was truly the ultimate bane of zombies.
“Let’s go, we’ll keep moving.”
Lin Fan composed herself and continued pulling the camp wagon forward.
But her shock just now had been genuine.
In her past life, she never had the chance to use a weapon like a Molotov cocktail.
Most of her time was spent hiding in a room, just trying to survive.
This was also the first time she had witnessed such a scene of clearing out zombies head-on.
She hadn’t expected it to be so effective.
This gave her even greater confidence.

The two of them continued pulling the wagon toward the residential complex.
But the noise from before had clearly alerted more zombies.
Figures swayed continuously on both sides of the street, their numbers growing.
“Ruyan, there’s another group ahead.”
Zhou Ming pointed to the entrance of a small alley ahead, his voice tense.
Another dozen or so zombies were converging toward them.
Without hesitation, Lin Fan took out a second Molotov cocktail.
She found a van parked on the side of the road.
“Ming-ge, same old trick.”
Her voice was light and cheerful, as if she were playing a game.
Zhou Ming ran over and smashed the window.
The piercing alarm blared once more.
As expected, the zombies were drawn to it like moths to a flame.
Lin Fan waited until they had mostly gathered before throwing another Molotov cocktail.
Boom!
Another sea of fire.
This time, the flames were even more ferocious, covering almost half the street.
All the zombies perished in the inferno, their miserable shrieks rising and falling.
This scene was repeated a total of four times.
Each time, Lin Fan’s movements became more practiced.
The last time, she even drew in nearly thirty zombies.
The sight of the dense crowd made Zhou Ming’s scalp tingle.
But the Molotov cocktail was still as effective as ever.
One bottle was thrown, and the flames soared into the sky.
Not one of the thirty zombies escaped; all were turned to charcoal.
By the time the two finally saw the gate of the Happy Homestead residential complex, all four Molotov cocktails in the backpack had been used.
Along the way, they had cleared out at least a hundred zombies.
And this was only the fourth day of the apocalypse.

The rate at which the number of zombies was increasing far exceeded expectations.
There were still two zombies wandering at the entrance of the complex.
Lin Fan and Zhou Ming no longer conserved their energy.
Lin Fan used her combat shovel to sever the first zombie’s neck, and black blood gushed out like a spring.
Zhou Ming, meanwhile, smashed the second one’s head with a single swing of his shovel, sending brain matter flying.
“We’re finally home.”
Zhou Ming looked at the familiar residential complex and let out a long sigh of relief.
Lin Fan nodded, but a trace of worry flashed in her eyes.
The rate of the zombies’ increase had surpassed her expectations.
If things continued to develop at this pace, ordinary survivors wouldn’t last three months.
She needed greater power.
The terrifying combat strength of someone like Lei Li.
The two pulled the camp wagon into the complex.
The problem now was how to move this cart full of gear up to the eighth floor.
Lin Fan looked at the fully loaded cart and began to assign tasks.
“Ming-ge, we’ll move it in five trips.”
She pointed at the items on the cart, her voice holding an unquestionable tone.
“The most important things for the first trip are these.”
Solar panels, a hand-crank generator, and a portable power station.
This electrical equipment was key to survival in the apocalypse.
Without electricity, many modern devices would be useless.
Cell phones, flashlights, various charging devices.
More importantly, if they needed to craft more sophisticated weapons or devices later on, electricity would be essential.
“I’ll carry these.”
Zhou Ming proactively took the heaviest solar panels, wanting to show off in front of the woman he adored.
Lin Fan, in turn, shouldered the portable power station and the hand-crank generator.
The two went upstairs cautiously.
With each floor they passed, Lin Fan would stop and listen carefully.

The stairwell was still quiet.
It seemed there were no other survivors active for the time being.
The first trip went smoothly.
After placing the electrical equipment in Lin Fan’s room, they immediately returned downstairs.
The second trip was for personal gear.
Hiking boots, stab-proof vests, shell jackets, and tactical backpacks.
These items were related to personal safety, second in priority only to the electrical equipment.
The third trip was for weapons and tools.
Combat shovels, multi-tool military knives, night vision goggles, expandable batons, flashlights, ropes, and so on.
These items weren’t heavy individually, but they added up.
The fourth trip was for daily necessities.
A cassette stove, gas canisters, water bottles, and portable sleeping bags.
These items would ensure their basic living needs were met.
The cassette stove and gas canisters, in particular, would allow them to enjoy hot food in the apocalypse.
The final trip was for the camp wagon itself.
This big thing needed to be folded before it could be carried upstairs.
Zhou Ming studied it for a long time before finally figuring out how to fold it.
The wheels could be detached, and the frame could collapse.
Once folded, its volume was halved, but it was still very heavy.
The two of them had to work together to haul it up to the eighth floor.
By the time everything was moved, it was already four in the afternoon.
After spraying the doorway and the eighth-floor corridor with alcohol, the two collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted.
“Ruyan, we really hit the jackpot today.”
Zhou Ming looked at the room full of gear, his eyes filled with excitement.
“With all this stuff, we can handle it even if the apocalypse gets worse.”
Lin Fan wasn’t as optimistic as Zhou Ming.
In the future, the real threat to be wary of wasn’t zombies, but other humans.
Their current equipment was indeed good, but against humans with firearms, it was still far from enough.
