Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 311 – Since You’ve Come, Don’t Leave

The sharp sound of metal snapping echoed eerily through the silent room.

Yuzuru’s pupils trembled as she watched the alloy dagger—her trusted companion through life-and-death battles—snap into two pieces of scrap metal between the other’s pale, slender fingers.

Before she could react, an irresistible force slammed into her.

“Bang!”

Lin Fan flicked her wrist as if shaking off a bug stuck to her hand.

Yuzuru was sent flying backward, crashing hard against the solid wood floor with a dull thud. Her internal organs seemed to shift out of place, and for a moment, she couldn’t catch her breath.

“Wind-type Ability?”

Lin Fan studied the “boy” sprawled on the ground with keen interest, idly stroking her chin. A dangerous glint flickered in her golden vertical pupils.

“Early Stage Five. To reach this level in a wasteland like Sakura Island, you’ve got impressive talent.”

More importantly, under her Mental Strength scan, the previously ambiguous gender traits had become unmistakably clear.

Chest binding. A throat patch. Deliberately darkened skin.

This was no handsome young man.

This was a woman who had disguised herself as a man just to survive in the post-apocalypse.

“Yui’s sister?”

The smile at the corner of Lin Fan’s lips widened.

“Interesting. I was just hoping to catch a big fish, but it turns out I got two birds with one stone.”

“Bastard…”

Yuzuru gritted her teeth, enduring the searing pain as she struggled to get up. She slammed both palms against the floor, two razor-sharp wind blades forming in her palms, ready to fight to the death.

Just then.

“Sister! Dame!”

A cry of alarm came from the direction of the sofa, even slipping into the Sakura Island dialect unconsciously.

Yui, who had been sound asleep, was jolted awake by the commotion.

When she saw the figure on the ground, the blood drained from her face, already pale from overexertion. She didn’t even bother with shoes, rushing over barefoot and spreading her arms wide, shielding Lin Fan behind her.

“Don’t hurt her!”

The wind blades in Yuzuru’s hands dissipated instantly. She froze in place, staring at her sister in utter disbelief.

“Yui… have you lost your mind?!”

Yuzuru’s voice turned shrill from sheer shock.

“I came to save you! This demon of the Dragon Clan… she’s tormented you like this, and you’re still protecting her?!”

“Save me?”

Yui blinked, shaking her head frantically, her eyes filled with terror.

Not fear of her sister—but fear that her sister would anger the deity behind her.

“Sister, you’ve got it wrong!”

Yui turned around and dropped to her knees at Lin Fan’s feet, her forehead pressed hard against the floor.

“Please calm your anger, my lady! My sister… she didn’t mean to offend you! I beg you for mercy—don’t kill her!”

Watching her sister grovel so utterly, so completely, Yuzuru’s heart felt like it was being sliced to pieces.

Stockholm syndrome?

Brainwashing?

Or some kind of mind control?

“Yui! Stand up!”

Yuzuru’s eyes were bloodshot as she screamed hysterically.

“We’re human beings! Not slaves! Even if we die, we can’t be dogs for these alien races!”

“What do you know, sister?!”

Yui jerked her head up, and for the first time, anger toward her sister flashed across that innocent face.

She pointed at the kimono that had materialized out of thin air on her body, then at the warm fireplace nearby, and finally at the half-eaten mutated beef on the table.

“In that sewer full of bugs, we had to smile and entertain those disgusting men, all while worrying we might be eaten as food at any moment! Is that a life fit for human beings?”

Yui’s tears streamed down her face, her voice trembling yet resolute.

“The Master gave me dignity, gave me strength, even gave me these clean clothes I’m wearing!”

“The Master is my god!”

These words struck like a heavy hammer, slamming hard against Yuzuru’s chest.

She opened her mouth, only to find herself at a loss for words.

Dignity?

When survival is at stake, dignity truly is a luxury.

But that was no reason to bow down to an alien race!

“That’s an illusion! It’s all an illusion!”

Yuzuru ground her teeth, the flames of hatred in her eyes burning without the slightest sign of dying out.

“Those not of our kind are bound to have different hearts! The Dragon Clan only treats you as a toy—once they’re bored, they’ll discard you like trash! Come with me, right now!”

With that, she lunged forward, ready to drag Yui away by force.

Lin Fan stood off to the side, watching this tearful drama of sisterly affection, and couldn’t help but yawn.

“Tsk, so noisy.”

She raised her hand and examined her neatly trimmed fingernails.

“Don’t get me wrong—I do appreciate this kind of sisterly devotion, but… my patience has its limits.”

A terrifying pressure descended in an instant.

The very air seemed to freeze solid.

Yuzuru’s just-taken step grew as heavy as if filled with lead, and her entire body was crushed down until one knee slammed against the ground, her kneecap letting out a cracking sound of unbearable strain.

“Since the soft approach won’t work, let’s try the hard way.”

Lin Fan strolled slowly to stand before Yuzuru, looking down from above at this stubborn “young man.”

“I originally planned to just kill you outright, but this skin of yours really is something else—it’d be a shame to waste it.”

(At this point, a thousand words are killed by Shen He)

Yuzuru slowly opened her eyes, feeling the surging power within her body.

Mid fifth-rank!

She could even vaguely sense the threshold of the late stage.

This was a realm she had never dared to imagine before.

And all of it was bestowed upon her by the woman before her.

“Awake now?”

Lin Fan looked at the woman behind her through the mirror, her tone flat.

Yuzuru crawled out of the bathtub, trembling.

She didn’t bother wiping the water from her body, nor did she care about her current state of dishevelment.

She knelt on both knees, her forehead striking hard against the slick ceramic tiles.

Her voice was hoarse, yet carried a fervent devotion:

“Master… Yuzuru knows she was wrong.”
