Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 4 – Preparation Before the Hunt
Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 4 – Preparation Before the Hunt
Lin Fan unzipped Zhou Ming’s hiking backpack and emptied its contents onto the floor.
Energy bars, protein powder, sports drinks, electrolyte supplements…
All were common supplements found in a gym.
Although not proper meals, these high-calorie, high-protein foods were just as precious in the apocalypse.
“Ming-ge, you’re so thoughtful.”
Lin Fan squatted down, deliberately letting her tight yoga pants outline an even more alluring curve.
“You even brought my favorite energy bars.”
Zhou Ming’s breathing instantly quickened.
From his angle, Liu Ruyan’s bent-over posture was simply deadly.
That perfect S-shaped curve almost made him lose control.
“As… as long as you like it.”
Zhou Ming stammered, not daring to let his eyes wander.
He was afraid he couldn’t suppress the impulse in his heart.
Lin Fan gathered the items and slowly stood up.
Every movement was filled with temptation.
“By the way, how many more bags did you say were downstairs?”
“Right, there are three more big bags.”
Zhou Ming nodded immediately, his voice tinged with excitement.
“I took the stairs and was afraid I couldn’t carry them all at once, so I brought the most important ones up first.”
“Can you go get them now?”
Lin Fan walked up to Zhou Ming and gently took his hand.
Feeling the warmth in his palm, Zhou Ming felt like he was floating.
“Okay! I’ll go right away!”
He couldn’t wait to rush downstairs and bring everything up.
To prove his worth!
“Be careful, then.”
Lin Fan released his hand, her eyes full of worry.
That pitiful and endearing expression made Zhou Ming’s heart melt.
“Don’t worry, I’ll be careful.”
Zhou Ming patted his chest in assurance.
“I’ll be back soon.”
After Zhou Ming left, the fragile look on Lin Fan’s face instantly vanished.
She quickly took out the food and began to eat and drink. She hadn’t had a single drop of water since her rebirth and was now both thirsty and hungry.
While eating, she took out her phone and opened a map app.
Now that she had Zhou Ming, this tool, it was time to formulate a bolder plan.
She needed to hoard supplies one step ahead of everyone else, while the public was still immersed in the fantasy that “the officials will solve everything.”
Large-scale supermarkets were definitely out.
Those places were crowded before the Zombie outbreak and would inevitably become gathering spots for hordes of the undead afterward.

Lin Fan’s gaze searched the map carefully.
Soon, she locked onto three targets.
First, the Family Mart convenience store across from the residential complex.
She was very familiar with this small supermarket, as she used to frequent it to stock up.
Although it wasn’t large, it had all the essentials.
Rice, flour, oil, salt, various seasonings, canned goods, instant noodles…
As well as all sorts of daily necessities.
If she could fill her Storage Space, it would be enough to sustain her alone for two years.
Second, Kangmin Pharmacy, fifty meters from the supermarket.
In the apocalypse, all kinds of medicine were more precious than gold.
Antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, painkillers, vitamins…
And first-aid supplies like medical alcohol, bandages, and hemostatic spray.
Lin Fan remembered countless people in her past life who had died from infections caused by minor wounds.
Medicine was an absolute hard currency!
The third target was also the farthest and most dangerous.
The Wild Wolf Outdoor Gear store, two kilometers from the complex.
Liu Ruyan’s wardrobe was full of sexy, thin clothes, without a single item that could protect against a zombie’s scratches or bites.
She needed a windbreaker, hiking boots, stab-proof gloves, a helmet…
And various survival tools.
A multi-tool military knife, an entrenching tool, a large power bank, and ideally, a solar panel and a hand-crank generator.
In the apocalypse, this equipment was a lifesaver.
Knock, knock, knock—
A knock sounded at the door.
“Ruyan, it’s me. Open up.”
Lin Fan put away her phone and quickly adjusted her expression.
Opening the door, she saw Zhou Ming standing outside, panting heavily.
Behind him were three bulging, large bags.
Sweat rolled down his forehead, and his sturdy body exuded an air of masculine hormones.
“You’ve worked hard.”
Lin Fan looked at him, her face full of distress.
“Let’s sort these things out first.”
Lin Fan helped Zhou Ming carry the three bags of supplies into the apartment.
Upon opening them, she saw they were all filled with various fitness supplements.
Protein powder, creatine, BCAAs, various vitamins…
Although these weren’t traditional foods, their nutritional value was extremely high.
They were definitely hard currency in the apocalypse.
“This is great. All of this is very useful,” Lin Fan said as she organized the items.

“By the way, Ming-ge, I want to discuss something with you.”
“What is it? Go ahead.”
Zhou Ming immediately perked up his ears, afraid of missing a single word.
“I think we should take this opportunity to go out and find some supplies.”
Lin Fan’s tone became serious.
“The news says to wait at home for rescue, but what if the rescue is very late?”
Zhou Ming frowned.
“It’s so dangerous outside…”
“I know it’s dangerous,” Lin Fan interrupted him, her eyes firm.
“But sitting here waiting to die is even more dangerous.”
“Besides, most people are still waiting at home for rescue right now, so the stores outside should still have plenty of supplies.”
“If we don’t act now, by the time others react, there will be nothing left to grab.”
Zhou Ming pondered for a moment.
Lin Fan’s analysis made a lot of sense.
“Then where do we go?”
Lin Fan took out her phone and pulled up the map.
“I’ve already thought it through.”
“First stop, the convenience store across from the complex.”
“It has everything, and there aren’t many people.”
Zhou Ming nodded. The choice was a wise one.
“Second stop, the Kangmin Pharmacy next to it.”
“In the apocalypse, medicine is more important than anything.”
“Third stop…”
Lin Fan paused, her expression turning grave.
“The Wild Wolf Outdoor Gear store.”
“They have professional outdoor equipment, protective clothing, hiking boots, various tools…”
Zhou Ming looked at the location on the map.
“The outdoor gear store is a bit far.”
“And we might run into those monsters on the way, the zombies you mentioned.”
“I know.”
Lin Fan nodded, then walked over to Zhou Ming.
She reached out and caressed his solid chest muscles.
“Ming-ge, you’re so strong. You’ll definitely be able to protect me, right?”
Feeling the warmth from her palm, Zhou Ming’s breathing instantly hitched.
This feeling of being trusted and relied upon by the girl he liked was just too wonderful!
“Of course!”
He patted his chest in assurance.

“Forget a few zombies, even if it’s a whole horde, I can protect you!”
“I knew you were the best.”
Lin Fan’s praise made Zhou Ming’s head spin.
“Then… then when do we leave?” he asked, stammering.
“Now.”
Lin Fan’s reply was crisp and decisive.
“Let’s hurry while it’s still light out.”
Lin Fan walked to the balcony, where several delivery boxes were piled up.
These were packages from Liu Ruyan’s previous online shopping.
“Ming-ge, come help me.”
Zhou Ming immediately trotted over eagerly.
Lin Fan tore off the tape and broke the cardboard down into suitable sizes.
“What’s this for?” Zhou Ming asked curiously.
“Protective armor.”
Lin Fan placed a piece of cardboard on her forearm and wrapped it securely with tape.
“The cardboard is thin, but it can block a zombie’s claws and teeth to some extent.”
Realization dawned on Zhou Ming.
“You’re so smart!”
In the apocalypse, anything that could offer protection was a treasure.
Lin Fan ignored his praise, concentrating on making the protective gear.
Forearms, upper arms, shins.
Every area prone to attack was wrapped in cardboard.
Although it looked a bit ridiculous, it could save their lives at a critical moment.
“Here, let me make a set for you too.”
Lin Fan began making protective gear for Zhou Ming.
She had to ensure this tool of hers didn’t meet with any accidents.
At least not before she had squeezed him dry of all his value.
Zhou Ming obediently extended his arm, letting Lin Fan work on him.
Through the contact, Lin Fan could feel his muscles tense up.
This guy was completely captivated by Liu Ruyan.
“Ruyan, your hands are so soft,” Zhou Ming said in a low voice.
A chill ran down Lin Fan’s spine.
But on the surface, she put on a shy expression.
“Ming-ge, you’re terrible.”
After finishing the protective gear, Lin Fan headed to the bathroom.
She picked up the mop in the corner and had Zhou Ming twist off the mop head.
A wooden handle over a meter long was now in her hand.

Next, she went to the kitchen.
There were several knives of different sizes in a drawer.
Lin Fan selected the sharpest pointed knife.
“Ruyan, what are you doing?” Zhou Ming asked, following behind her.
“Making a weapon.”
Lin Fan pressed the knife’s handle firmly against the top of the wooden pole, wrapping it tightly with layer after layer of tape.
Soon, a simple long spear was complete.
She tried swinging it a few times.
The weight was suitable, and the length was just right.
For Liu Ruyan’s body and strength, this kind of mid-range weapon was the best choice.
It allowed her to maintain a safe distance while inflicting fatal damage on the enemy.
“Wow, that’s so awesome!”
Zhou Ming was dumbfounded.
Liu Ruyan was not only beautiful but also clever!
Simply perfect!
Lin Fan nodded in satisfaction.
Then she went to the kitchen, took out two cleavers, and handed them to Zhou Ming.
“You use these.”
“Dual blades?”
Zhou Ming took the cleavers and swung them a few times.
“Feels pretty good.”
“You’re strong, so close combat is more suitable for you,” Lin Fan analyzed.
“I’ll be in charge of ranged support.”
Zhou Ming nodded vigorously.
“I’ll definitely protect you!”
Lin Fan turned and slung a large backpack over her shoulders.
Zhou Ming, in turn, put on the extra-large hiking pack he had arrived with.
“Time to set out.”
She held the long spear, looking valiant and heroic.
Zhou Ming also tucked the two cleavers into his belt.
Fully armed, the two of them looked quite a bit like apocalypse survivors.
“Remember, once we’re outside, you follow all my commands,” Lin Fan’s tone became serious.
“If we encounter zombies, don’t scream. It will attract more of them.”
“Understood!”
Zhou Ming nodded emphatically.
At this point, he was completely obedient to Liu Ruyan’s every word.
