Skinwalker Belle – Chapter 405 – Stay With Me! Do You Hear Me?!
Central Training Ground, Western Sichuan Base.
The massive spatial membrane hovering in midair began to churn violently.
Raging spatial energy spilled out along its edges like invisible blades, carving trenches several meters deep into the muddy ground.
The surrounding air pressure plummeted to freezing point—the unmistakable sign that the Rift was about to open fully.
Chen Mo wiped the mixture of mud and blood from his face and stared up at the sky with unblinking intensity.
“God above, open your eyes. Lei Jie has to come through that gate.” Chen Mo spat heavily onto the ground.
The several thousand soldiers around him were all wounded, yet not a single one furrowed his brow.
They had no way back.
Before them stood thousands of mutant puppets that feared nothing and lived only to kill. On their flank, a horde of half-human, half-beast monsters watched with hungry eyes.
At this rate, it was nothing but a slow death.
A deafening boom suddenly erupted from the blast-proof steel plates at the rear of the base.
Chu Chen stumbled out of the hidden passage, tumbling twice across the ground before regaining his footing.
He brushed the dust off his white shirt. The lollipop he always carried was nowhere to be found.
Before he could even find cover, sickening sounds of bones crunching echoed from within the passage.
Two mangled bodies were hurled out, slamming heavily onto the hard concrete floor.
They were the two augmented humans who had been tracking him.

The claw-woman’s neck was bent at a horrifying right angle. The wiry man who used psychic attacks had his entire chest caved in, ribs piercing straight through his combat suit.
Guangtou Qiang stepped out of the passage with his head lowered.
His grotesquely muscular frame was caked in blood and grime. The red markings on his face grew brighter with each breath, as if magma flowed beneath his skin.
Having taken down two Level Six augmented humans of equal rank in a single breath, he wasn’t even panting.
“Commander Chu, this game of hide-and-seek is over.” Guangtou Qiang took enormous strides, his target clear—straight for Chu Chen.
Lu Yuan was still airborne, trading blows with Xu Zhen in a fierce battle.
Catching the commotion behind him in his peripheral vision, Lu Yuan’s eyelids twitched violently.
“Old Chen! Protect Chu Chen at all costs!” Lu Yuan roared, abandoning Xu Zhen on the spot and diving downward like a beam of light.
It was too late.
Guangtou Qiang’s explosive power was absurd. His legs drove into the ground, shattering large sections of floor tiles. In a single step, he crossed over ten meters. His massive, fan-like hand shot out, grabbing Chu Chen by the collar and hoisting him high into the air.
“A brain is a fine thing. Soon yours will belong to us.” Guangtou Qiang’s free hand reached behind his waist and produced a dark red metal syringe.
The needle was extremely long, glinting with a cold, sinister light.
Choked with his feet dangling off the ground, Chu Chen could barely breathe.
He made no futile struggle. He didn’t even raise a hand. He simply sighed and swallowed the last bit of unmelted chocolate in his mouth.
The thick needle pierced cleanly into the large vein on the side of Chu Chen’s neck.

Guangtou Qiang pressed the plunger with his thumb. Every last drop of the dark red liquid was pushed in.
He tossed Chu Chen aside like garbage.
Chu Chen hit the ground, and his body immediately began convulsing and thrashing uncontrollably in the dirt pit. His limbs twisted and spasmed as he vomited mouthfuls of dark brown chocolate syrup mixed with frothy white saliva.
Guangtou Qiang stood in place, looking down at his prey from above, and burst into laughter so loud it made the glass shards nearby tremble.
“Take a good look. This is the latest tech developed after Chief Wang advanced to Level Seven.” Guangtou Qiang tapped his shiny bald head with his thick fingers, his tone fanatical. “Those puppets you saw before were all brainless trash. But this one’s different. This serum preserves the subject’s intelligence and all their memories from life to the maximum degree. Your Western Sichuan Base’s greatest mind now belongs to our chief! Chu Chen will be the sharpest blade we use against the Federation’s die-hard defenders!”
The veterans on the training ground were all stunned speechless.
That was the supreme commander who had led them through hell in the Magic City, fighting their way out.
That man who would squat on a chair eating sweets even if the sky fell—broken right before their eyes.
“Fuck your ancestors!” Chen Mo’s eyes went completely bloodshot, red veins flooding the whites.
He ripped off the steel helmet obstructing his vision, slammed it hard onto the ground, and raised his heavy war blade with both hands.
“Brothers! Kill this bald fucker! Avenge Commander Chu!” Chen Mo’s roar cracked his voice on the spot, the veins on his neck looking ready to burst.
“KILL!”
Over ten thousand veterans went completely berserk.
No one cared about tactical cover anymore. No one cared about the stray Special Ability fireballs and stray shots flying through the sky.
Everyone grabbed their weapons and charged at Guangtou Qiang with reckless abandon.

Xu Zhen had landed by now too. Seeing the two mangled corpses of his subordinates at the bald man’s feet, he ground his teeth so hard they creaked.
“Wang Shan’s lapdog. You actually dared to kill my men.” The cyan Dragon horns atop Xu Zhen’s head glowed with a dangerous light. “Get him! Tear this bald bastard apart! And get Chu Chen back!”
The remaining seven augmented humans also went wild-eyed, swinging their mutated limbs as they encircled from the other side.
Guangtou Qiang rolled his neck, and a rapid series of crisp cracks burst from every joint in his body.
“A bunch of ants daring to yap in front of the chief’s masterpiece. Let me slaughter you useless pieces of trash first.”
Just as he was about to take Chu Chen away—
“Fuck you, you bald piece of shit!”
Lu Yuan’s raspy voice rang out from every direction across the training ground simultaneously, echoes bouncing from all sides.
The entire sky above exploded with hundreds of Lu Yuan’s light clones.
Every single clone was in a diving posture, each clutching a head-sized, high-density light orb.
The orbs connected together, their brilliance so intense that no one could see anything at all.
Ultimate move—Kaleidoscope.
Guangtou Qiang’s vision went pure white instantly.
The overwhelming visual deprivation made him instinctively squeeze his eyes shut, flailing his arms wildly in front of him, trying to block the killing blow that could land at any moment.
BANG!

Guangtou Qiang’s iron fist connected solidly with a physical body.
Lu Yuan’s main body hadn’t used the light orbs to attack at all. He chose to take that punch head-on, cutting in directly from the blind spot on the side.
Lu Yuan’s shoulder blade let out a distinct cracking sound on the spot, and he staggered backward three full steps.
But at the cost of severe injury, he used that momentum to scoop Chu Chen out of the mud pit, transforming into a blinding arc of light, and retreated back to their lines before anyone could close in.
“Captain Lu!” Chen Mo hurried over, grabbing hold of the swaying, about-to-collapse Lu Yuan.
Lu Yuan set Chu Chen down behind the sandbag, wincing in pain. Half his body had gone completely numb, and even raising his arm was a struggle.
“Never mind me, check on Chu Chen now!” Lu Yuan clutched his collapsed shoulder, gasping for breath.
Chu Chen lay in the mud. Every muscle in his body was taut to the breaking point, veins bulging one by one across his forehead, blood vessels pulsing violently beneath his thin skin.
That damned serum was frantically remodeling his brain and nerve endings, sweat soaking through his collar.
“Lu Yuan…” Chu Chen clenched his back teeth, forcing the words out through gritted teeth, laced with barely concealed agony.
“I’m here, boss! I’m listening!” Lu Yuan quickly leaned in close to Chu Chen’s face.
“If Lei Li comes back… tell her… to go all out and blast those puppets to pieces… don’t worry about whether I live or die… take me out along with them…” Chu Chen’s voice grew weaker and weaker. The black pupils in his eyes were rapidly fading, a layer of lifeless white fast covering them over. He was giving his final instructions.
“Like hell I will!” Lu Yuan cursed outright, spit spraying across Chu Chen’s face.
“If you dare turn into one of those mindless fools out there, that she-devil will crack your skull open and use it as an ashtray! So hold on tight, you hear me?!”
